  • NO ME GUSTA.

  • LYING CUNT

  • awww hes cute (-:

  • lolololololololol Nick Clegg.

  • neither party has a mandate, neither party has a majority of the possible number of votes, neither party has even more than 50% of the total electorate. Still its all fair and democratic isn't it?

  • Well you voted libdem and you got a tory government, are you proud? Happy now? I hope some of you at least realise that voting libdem is and always has been voting tory! Long live Maggie Cameron and Nick Thatcher

  • The reason why the student loans came through was due to the banks. The total repayable is actually £81k so you have to earn over £140k to pay it off basically a second morgage. The money comes from the treasury who get it from the banks. The banks make money by underwriting the loans. Cameron and Osborne work for the Rothschilds and Nick Cleggs dad owns a bank. That is why we now have student fees.

  • no me gusta.

  • @mattbXD the Liberal Democrats don't have a mandate to rule, the majority party in the coalition is the Conservatives. The Conservatives always planned to put up fees yet with the compromise due to the Lib Dems involvement, paying the loans back will be much easier. When Nick Clegg made that pledge I doubt he was able to know he would be part of the government later on, it is a wish of the party but an unrealistic goal in the current economic climate for students to not have to contribute to th

  • You naysayers are all fucking morons as far as I'm concerned. You realize LibDems didn't win the election right? They have 57 seats to the Tories 306. Its still party policy to scrap tuition fees, they just couldn't do it because they don't have enough control. You should be thanking Nick Clegg and the LibDems for watering down the tuition fee rise, not chastising him for not achieving the impossible.

Again, 57 seats to 306. Yet they still are getting things for us, great things.

  • @2edsajdmsa " We didn't win the election" - that old excuse again? We weren't expecting them to scrap tuition fees, just to keep the PROMISE they made when they all SIGNED A PLEDGE saying they would VOTE -AGAINST- any rise in tuition fees. As I recall, most of them voted FOR it.

And please, explain to me how praytell an increase of almost £6000 pounds is a "watered down" policy?

You can make as many excuses as you like. If they voted yes on the legislation, they have broken a promise.

  • Lying scum.

You have single-handedly destroyed your party - if you thought you got few votes at the last election, wait until the next one sunshine...

Your party is now history. Congratulations: you must be sooooo proud of yourself.

  • This is a funny speech considering what has happened....

  • Cameron and Clegg are story tellers as were the Brothers Grimm.....and what we have to look forward to is very grim indeed . Clegg , you have betrayed your supporters and delivered your party into the history books....Once the walls of this mess of a coalition start to crumble and the party you led are reduced to little bits of unwanted rubble at the feet of the Tories...what will you do ? Desert ? well you have already sold the heart of your party...so to give your soul would not seem so bad

  • I agreed with you Nick. I voted for it. But you did not deliver.

  • In a word .. Liar! No one can now ever take seriously one word that this man speaks.. If they do, more fool them. He not only betrayed his spoken word, but his written word also.

Take everything this man says with a pinch of salt... There may not be one word of truth or conviction in it.

  • Liar!!!

  • Fucking liar

  • Clegg is a fucking lying wanker, Vote Lib Dem.

    Thumbs up if you agree!

  • theres that guy that sits beside PM David Cameron!

    what does he do?

  • So, Nick, what difference did it make, people voting Liberal? Oh yes, you got a government job and we got Thatcher's devfil child. Thanks.

  • At 11:45 there seems to be something wrong with the sound. He says something that seems to fly in the face of what he now believes is the right thing to do.

    It happens again at 14:35.

  • He is a lying cunt. "Oh don't worry I will be the first politician in the UK to have the balls to try make cannabis legal" Another cunt lying to get votes.

  • @Ste0wnz Is that really what he said? Or did he say that he'd work towards the government basing its legislation on independent, scientific panels?

  • It's good to see that he's thinking about drugs policy, but what he appears to be saying is that legalization will depend upon the harm and damage that drugs cause to individuals. I hope that any independent team that's set up looks at the harm to individuals & society as a whole caused by prohibition, (Criminalization, criminality, plus the danger posed to individuals in the purchase of unregulated street drugs....)

  • Nick Clegg is lying twat Lib Dems are Tories in a different colou

  • @brookvr You're a moron if you think that.

  • @MRaverz that makes two of us

  • @brookvr You also think you're a moron for thinking it? :)

  • @MRaverz i should of known better to vote labour not Liberal Democrats oh well that means theres still enough time for Nick Clegg & David Cameron to be assassinated

  • @brookvr Labour caused this mess and still don't have a solution for it.

  • @MRaverz ok you have said so i can assume you must have fair grip on the subject ? explain to be how labour are responsible for the current mess?

  • @MRaverz Next time I'm voteing for Labour

  • @brookvr Well, when you let me know what their policies are, that would be great. You'd be the first person to know. :)

  • @MRaverz 13 years of labour, labour have no policies herpy derp etc. Trololololol

  • I like Nick Clegg ... he seems more level headed and sensible than many other politicians. But that doesn't really go for anything.

  • @DiachiLaser yes it does

  • Why does he always burp and do some weird breath?

  • and too think this twat can decide the next govermeant

  • @meleeandthefury he didn't really beat about the bush with the drugs, he said that scientists would be allowed to state their findings when it came to drugs. The drug and health adviser who got fired was due to him saying cannabis is far less harmful than alcohol or even tobacco. No politician could say "lets legalise pot" because otherwise there would be uproar from ignorant people who know bugger all about cannabis and believe stereotypes which happens to be allot of people in the UK :(

  • CleggCamsham!!

Voters who flirt with Nick Clegg are likely to end up married to David Cameron!

Cameron's trying to get into bed with Clegg because he knows the polls point to a hung parliament and he's losing ..David Cameron has said the Tories are to target Labour strongholds, in the wake of the Lib Dem poll surge. Clegg should make it clear now and not run with the fox and the hounds

Vote Labour you know it makes sense Rodney...

  • Really want to know what's on that poster attached to the book case.

  • @deadinside7 It's a picture for daddy I bet.

  • pt.3

He would not say yes or no.. he just waffled on there should be an easy read and there should be a like dummies guide to politics.. I am dislexic and dyspraxic I have a short attention span if it was that I did not have much intrest in politics I could honestly say I would not beable to keep focused. Even though I have a massive intrest in politics it took me quite a long time to get my head around it im still not 100% thats I have fully can stay focused all the time.

  • Pt. 2

MPs and PM when asked a question in stead of saying simple yes because of this or no because of this they kind of avoid the question.. Jack straws a good example of this on question time when asked Is it the higher partys fault that the BNP have been considered an option?

  • I can tell you exactly why nobody is votes anymore.. its because people have been backstabbed by politics on so many levels...

Alot of it is also the MP and PM way of talking... If you asked me how my day was and I told you in detail about every single last thing but did not even anser if the day was good or not... you would loose intrest.

  • you gave a shit answer to the question about drugs. dont beat about the bush man, just give us your view on weed

  • legalise cannabis nick!

  • I still dunno... I don't want to vote Labour or Tories and I do like Lib Dem but I'm not sure if I'm only thinking that because they are the only real alternative...

  • @SuperKopite96

    is li dem bnp?

is you slow? The Lib Dems and BNP are two seperate parties!

  • I love how opponents knock Nick's regional immigration policy, even though it works in the countries where it HAS already been employed! haha

Thats right, stick your head in the sand!

  • I'd like him amongst other things to modernise the voting system. Automate it, it's about time that came in, though it will take some time to develop - more votes would come in if automated voting, linked to National Insurance numbers or some form of unique identifier that's already in the system, with some form of authentication thats secure to the voter.

  • I am 17 years old and wish I could vote, honest to god theres nothing better out there at the minute then LIB DEM!

  • I`m from northern ireland and I wish I could vote lib dem but I cant so I guess ill be voting for bob the builder again this time

  • weird that he seems more nervous with preplanned questions than he did on the debate with more stuttering etc etc

  • Hi Nick good video I've moved to lib Dem after watching this.

In Answer to your question if you want greater involvement you need to give us greater ability to micromanage policy its very hard for me to influence specific policy in the way i want, by voting every 4 years because no party represents my views completely (even the lib dems). as a result i feel by voting for a party I'm also encouraging policys i disagree with. so it seems my vote is doing as much harm as good, so why vote?

  • How could I NOT vote for this man?

  • <3333

  • I AM CLEGGEND.

  • Wow. And actual conversation with voters, on a human level...

    Impressive.

  • Point after point that I totally agree with.

If I wasn't sure before, I am now. You've got my vote, Nick. Be sure to deliver.

  • Mr Clegg - You deserve some serious respect - You have given no dodgy answers. You never try and dodge questions. You always talk straight and go to the point rather than turn a question into self glorification.

I really hope you win - And I will make sure I vote for you.

    LIB DEM CAN WIN!

  • @hechser lol but he does dodge the question 12:28 on the question on weather he will legalize cannabis..

  • Most straight talking guy in westminister.

  • @SpentIt only straight talking guy in westminster

  • @SpentIt HAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAH NOW WHAT DO YOU THINK , THE LYING CUNT!

  • @gregnscott I think he has sold his soul :(

  • i like his answer for cannabis, :) a gateway to legalization, because everyone knows that cannabis isn't as harmful as alcohol and cigarettes, or at least decriminlization, like the dutch system, im voting lib dem

  • We got Rage Against the Machine to #1, we can get Nick Clegg into #10! VOTE LIB DEM 2010!!!!!

  • I really hope people vote Lib Dem and don't consider it the usual wasted vote as he says.

    VOTE people!

  • @SuperKopite96: erm, quite the opposite...

  • The liberal democrats have my support! Thank you Mr. Clegg for this video.

  • Well done!! Got my vote

  • Liberal and conservative politics is class politics...

  • So where is the extra energy going to come from? didn't really answer the question

  • Clegg fucking rocks.

  • Bit of a dodge on the cannabis decrimilization if you ask me. But the only party that will be getting my vote.

  • @jonohutton89 Well, he did pretty much say that the party would allow the actual experts on the subject to determine the policy as opposed to politicians being able to use it as a tool with the knee jerk public.

He reffered to the actual expert who claimed, quite factually, that cannabis is one of the least harmful drugs you can take and that alcohol and tobacco use are far far worse.

If you read between the lines I think it's fairly clear he was supporting legalisation. He just cant say it.

  • Lib Dem for me.

    bye bye Gordon :-)

  • Just out of curiousity. Who has the most liked You Tube clips (Brown, Cameron, or Clegg)?

  • This is actually one of Nick Clegg's most substative interviews. I'm really impressed here that he chose a variety of different issue and policy questions and gave thoughtful responses.

He should do more of these substative Q and A's answering substative questions like these, especially with those that may be critical or disagree with him. This is how a political partt becomes representative of the people if they hold principles, but are open to different views, ideas, critism, and improve.

  • LDs have a real chance of getting into a hung parliament. Then there will be real reform. Vote LD if you can. The British Labour party a self feeding monster that bullies and cheats its way into power and solves nothing. LD are far more pragmatic, fair and representative of a broader range of opinion, not to mention far more moderate than either Labour or Conservatives.

  • @MrDanThomson Hopefully the LibDems will be able to replace labour as the alternative to conservatism after the election.

  • @pysgodfach I agree. Hopefully this election will see Labour fall by the wayside, never to be a serious contender ever again in British politics, their unjustified position being rightfully owned by the Liberals.

The Conservatives and the Liberals. That was the state of our two-party system over Great Britain's greatest years. Not Labour and Conservatives, which has presided over a pretty miserable era.

  • For a variety of reasons, over the last few decades individuals have become increasingly alienated from the political system. An example here in Australia, is the peak membership levels for the ALP and Liberal Party was in the 1970s - since then, membership numbers have steadily declined. I'd be surprised if it were different in the UK. In the current environment of 24 hour news and the internet, people are increasingly interested in short-term politics, and less in long-term 'visions'.

  • Something else to talk about is the increasing attractiveness to many people of 'libertarianism' and 'anarchism' as alternatives to our current political structures. I don't necessarily know why this is, but I think it's heavily subjectively-based. Anyway, PR would be a great alternative, and as we know it works fairly well. However, there are more deeper issues at play. I hope the Lib Dems do well this year and have an opportunity to 'shake up' British politics for the better.

  • Clegg is the man, Vote Lib Dem

  • @09AAnderson That backfired on everyone. Well done.

  • @PoseringBen

    True that!

  • @09AAnderson now what do you think!?

  • I might not get to vote, the current estimate puts the election 9 days before my 18th. =(

  • @ThatOtakuGirl Unlucky. I probably wont get to vote until 2014-15 either

  • Answering reddit questions was a brilliant idea

  • yeh way to kill 2 hours. Waste of time.

  • Nice shark

  • My other suggestion would be to less 'staid' and more fashionable (for younger voters). Would it put you out of touch with people? I wouldn't know. maybe have an ipod casually in your hand (not an iphone-they are for hipsters more) sometimes or on your desk, just to show people you are in touch at some level with them. You may have to understand a bit the culture and common usage of the device and enjoy it at some level to make the appearance more plausible/honest.

  • Still no idea which party you will support in a hung parliament. Given that you can't win and all...

  • My top 3 suggestions: i) Proportional representation ii) Proportional representation iii) Proportional representation.

As a Libertarian, I was disappointed with your final couple of answers, on drugs and the BBC. It is not the role of the State to determine which substances we might choose to ingest and the BBC licence fee is undemocratic, since the free market can provide broadcast services.

Other than that I thought your answers were good and I am grateful to have heard them.

    Thanks.

  • Don't listen to this guy. Some libertarians have an irrational obsession with ideology to the point they can't see the wood for the trees. My suggestion would be to understand individual social freedom and push for it hard.

  • @YoAnarchy I'm happy to pay a licensing fee since I enjoy many of the BBC programmes and want to support them in creating more. I don't see what's undemocratic about that.

  • yeh. and its not our place to decide who gets weapons - anarchy rule

  • The license fee is only partially undemocratic. Don't like the license fee? Switch the idiot box off and stop paying, easy. Only takes a letter to TV Licensing inviting them 'round for tea and biscuits to stop the nasty letters (hint: tell them you're out of milk, worked for me). You even get to listen to the radio for free, still!

The only real issue I have with it is that it spreads its tendrils into the private channels to the extent that not paying means no telly at all.

  • @foojoku Broadcasting can never be fair until the bbc has to carry advertising as well.

  • Will someone get this man into Number 10, please?

A 2-party system is not a democracy. Stop voting for the idiots and start voting for change.

  • I'm very impressed that a major politician took the time to answer questions posed by the reddit community. I was going to vote Tory, not because I agree with their ideas but because I too believed a vote for Lib Dem would be a wasted vote. You have convinced me otherwise and my vote will be for Lib Dem. Thank you!

  • Christ, the drugs comment made me cringe. Typical response from a politician which I was hoping I wouldn't get from Nick.

  • yeh legalize pot maaaaan. See my above put down via comparison with weapons.

  • Hold the integrity of the Liberal Democrats above all else you do. Don't look to win votes, look to win hearts and minds. Accept that you can't please all of the people all of the time. Don't be afraid to challenge mainstream thinking when there are logical and rational reasons to do so. Continue to cover as many channels as possible (internet, social networks, TV, radio, etc.). Don't overlook your supporters as a resource that can be used. Many would love to get involved in awareness-raising .

  • Thank you very much for making this video. Hope you record another video for Reddit soon. You've got my vote.

  • Good interview!

  • With regards to the drugs issue, i would like to see a politician give a simple, straight answer rather than skirting around the issue instead of tackling the question head on. Surely the question of drugs, in particular marijuana, is a question of choice rather than having to look to the government to prescribe our decisions for us. Please, in this case, deal in absolutes, what we need is clear speech and clear thinking.

  • Get a better camera, Nick! It won't cost you at all, you could probably claim for it...
