Eh. The choreography of this was really boring. This is a really bouncy song- kinda ruined it that everyone was just sitting. It would have been better with more movement.
Where did this production take place? From the clips I've seen, this was a pretty darn good production of Ragtime and the crowd seems dead. Did this take place in some back woods red state where the people are too stupid to appreciate good theater?
I like this. I saw the original Broadway cast & a film made of the trial (starring Evelyn as HERSELF! - very strange), and I thought there should have been some more movement in this number. This Evelyn is great & very true to the time period looking... nice work!
PuffLippy is right... Evelyn was not early 19th! She was BORN in LATE 19th, but died in 1967. My grandmother took a pottery , or sculpture class she gave in L.A. in the late 50's. Check out wikipedia...

No, she wasn't. Evelyn was a redhead. L.M. Montgomery even used her as inspiration for her title character ANNE OF GREEN GABLES.

can you or anyone else tell me how they did the swing???
dragondust2121 4 years ago
The swing is hung from the fly system. The fly is a number of metal rods hanging from the ceiling backstage that props and scenery are hung from.
