When the Disciples asked Jesus WHY he spoke in parables this was his answer, so that believers will be given MORE understanding but to them it is NOT given, therefore he spoke in parables SO THAT it would increase our understanding but be a snare for the rest.

He wants us to come to him in trusting FAITH, so he designed his word with a built in mechanism which gives MORE understanding to those who seek his word in truth out of trusting in him but as a SNARE to trap those who do not. When it is preached in churches that Jesus spoke in parables to make it easy for dumb people to understand, that is a direct contradiction of JESUS' own words
