I don't think you have to say watashi all the time. in most cases you do not have to specify the personal pronoun, I don't think. unless you want to make it absolutely clear it is YOU who likes turtles, for example xD so you could just say 'Abi pop desu!' or 'kame ga suki desu' without the watashi wa. But I'm no expert xD
