Nothing wrong with e-bells, people just have different tastes. Regular bells get more attention for me than e-bells. Hearing the clanging as the gates come down at a crossing or the clang as an older GEVO loco passes sounds a lot more pleasing and is more noticeable than the monotone e-bells. Just my opinion. Nothing wrong with them, I could survive, but they would get old after awhile.
Railfans get a hard time about recording trains though due to 9/11 paranoia. Police find them suspicious and think they might be undercover terrorists finding out info on about the train and track. I find that rather stupid though. I don't see what good hijacking trains would do. You can't really do anything with them. Particluarly on the NEC where you can simply cut power. Either way, photography of anything is perfectly legal unless otherwise posted.
I agree that is what I was trying to say. Anyway a terrorist trying to hijack a train is impossible. But what the New York City subways going to 1 person train operation is rediculous and dangerous. If that one guy has a heart attack, or the door gets shoved in. A subway train is aimless and virtually hijaked. Thank God Republican policy is no longer running that.
I like newark, but NY Penn is my place. favorite station ever. i love it there. that's the first time i took Amtrak when it was in phases 1 2 and 3 to Buffalo. NJT also. first place was at penn station. lirr too even subways :D

At the NJT platforms, they have warning signs, and they're trying to keep unknowns out of the big terminals. Newark Penn is a little better.
