I NEVER said the Constitution Party is my party. However, I just read an article by Baldwin stating "we stand for marriage as God defined it and we believe children should have the right to pray in school." He is also against abortion and calls Jerry Falwell his friend. I only looked at stuff on his website before this. Wow, I guess I'm going back to Barr. I gotta look at Barr more now. This is a complete mind-fuck. I just wish Barr was a TRUE full on Libertarian.

Kras, I'm so glad you took a second look at Baldwin and are reconsidering Barr. Aside from being against gay marriage the CP is even opposed to gay couples adopting.

Barr has expressed regret and has renounced his less-than-libertarian past and I, for one, appreciate and respect him more for it!

I know he voted for the Patriot Act, but he did something no politician ever does; he admitted that he made a mistake. When is the last time you can remember a politician 'fessing up to that? Barr's been in the Libertarian Party for 2 years and he's worked as a lobbyist for the drug law reform group Marijuana Policy Project during that time as well. He says he's changed his mind on the drug war, Iraq, and the Patriot Act. At least give him a shot.

I for one have a hard time understanding why he would be "faking it" so that he could run for a party that consistently gets 0.5% of the vote anyway.

We need a candidate who has media connections (Wayne Allyn Root), and a candidate who has an impressive title (Mike Gravel is a senator), that way, the Libertarian party would become more legitimate, and the media would pay more attention. There's too much on Barr that can easily be attacked. He's a good guy, but there's just waaaay to much on him. A Gravel for president and a Root for vice president ticket would put the Libertarian party in the white house!

The two Libertarian candidates Ron Paul has the most connections with are Mary Ruwart (he wrote a rave reveiw and made an endorsement of her book) and Mike Gravel (they've met often, and have very similiar ideals). If you want someone who's similiar to Paul in the white house, go for Gravel. A lot of Paul fans also liked Gravel.

Ron Paul would need to ask his supporters to vote for Bob Barr in order for that to happen. Not simply an endorsement, but encourage Ron Paul Republicans to support Barr in this election.

Barr and Paul are different in many ways:

1. War on Drugs-Barr got defeated for congress because the LIBERTARIAN PARTY ran ads saying he strongly supported the war on drugs. Many guys would get put in prison for months for simply smoking a joint. This was when Barr was in congress.

2. Patriot Act-Barr helped write in, Paul's against it.

3. Gay Marriage-Paul supports civil unions, and slow but ultimate equal rights. Bob Barr co-wrote and fought hard for the "Defense of Marriage" act.
