This is my favorite song of all time. I met the band in Utica, NY back in the early '90's and got a signed copy of "Four Songs". Unfortunately, I lost all my belongings in a house fire, the CD included.
I hear that stuff and I'm thinking shit Taylor you've been sitting on this stuff for how long!? In my opinion Live got effed over by their record label and made to produce mainstream crap.
F##k yes! I love this version. I've only heard it played this twice - the other being unplugged. Personally I love this version more than the original. The slower speed works better. @hkammer I've been asking the same question for years. I lost seriously interest in these guys after SS. Having read Chad Taylor's blog it explains a lot about the band. i.e. listen to Ed's solo stuff now...same as the past four live albums. Then listen to The Gracious Few...
See, I felt for years after Live changed their aesthetic that I was somehow mistaken...the quality of this performance far exceeds anything from Distance to Here era. Seriously, what happened to this band?
You know when a group are at their HIGH POINT when they totally rearrange previous album songs to fit the mood of the new album... example this.... A+
my favorite version of this song, start out slow and then just kick major ass!!!
