  • Thanks for posting this. I had the wonderful privelege to meet Max and his lovely wife yesterday, whilst I was doing a show. I asked Max to join me for a song and it was such an honor to sing with him! Can you please tell me what were Max's biggest hits as I will be seeing him again soon and would like to be prepared with a few of his songs and surprise him! Thanks for your help.

    GOD BLESS

  • I love this version

  • @doormastersecurity I grew up in London, was a punk rocker, hated crap like this, i was a pistols man,, now here I am, loving this, I really respect guys like Max, Secombe and Dodd, now, I realize, just how great they were

  • very pleasant.

  • Mid 70's? Max must have beaten Jason Donovan to it by a few years.

  • @Strawberry7Lynn --- I may be wrong but didn't Jason Donovan leave Neighbours to star in the original A T D Coat and was then taken over by Philip Schofield-l think this was long before Max recorded this song

  • @candw87 No sorry but you have your timeline out of wack , max bygraves released this in 1973 it was the 8th highest selling song for the year in Australia ,Jason Donavan was only 5 years old at the time Cheers Gary..

  • @malabu2 Thanks l was wrong- best of British -Peter U K

  • @candw87 The person who posted this version of the song reckons it was a "top ten hit in Australia mid 1970's". I think that J Donovan would have been about 10 at that time!

  • @Strawberry7Lynn no in 1973 jason donovan was 5

  • I love Any Dream Will Do! It's one one of my favorite songs and I always love singing the regular version before I make fun of the song! I've seen Joseph and the amazing technicolor Dreamcoat 5 times on stage and many times on DVD and VHS starring Donny Osmond! I will always remember seeing Donny Osmond as Joseph when I was 6 years old and I saw him live! I own all the CD recordings of Joseph!

  • What a star he's come along way from those early days in Paradise Street Bermondsey, and given so much pleasure to so many along the way,A true Legend.

  • When I was a kid it just wasn't cool to like Max Bygraves. Now I'm older I'm just thinking 'how can anyone not like this song?' Been sung by lots of people of course, but that was a truly nice rendition.

  • oh my god, you wrote my thoughts, same thing with the likes of ken dodd, englebert, and the kings of totally "uncool" the bachelors, as you say, how can you not like this, but i didn't write this, i'm too cool

  • well done max

  • very nice

  • I have this on a 45 single. Wasn't Joseph and The Amazing Technocolour Dreamcoat Andrew Lloyd Webber's first major musical?

  • Anyone have a clip of "Fings ain't what they orta be"?

  • Where have all the true entertainers gone. I grew up listening to him on 'workers platime'. Great!
