@MrBoxingpizefighter I kinda disagree. I love books on paper rather than e-ink but for comics I really love this. The way comics are displayed is awesome and it even hides possible spoilers on the page by viewing image by image. I really like it.

Is it difficult to read in the upright, full screen/page view?

I haven't seen an iPad in person and it's difficult to tell through video. It looks like the text is still a bit too small to read comfortably without zooming in, and one of my main reasons for wanting an iPad is for comic apps - especially Manga MF, which doesn't have a panel by panel option.

I thought at first it would be too small (my broken HP tablet is 12" screen so same size as a comic book) but size looks good and it has those great Apple camera contrrols... so much better than the old old comic book reader I was using on the PC!

The IPad is so cool. You can read books and get free books on the library shelf.

You can see movies and my short films too if you like. I'm getting an app soon.

I don't agree about voice actors reading comic book dialogue. Each time I've seen one of those "motion comic" offerings, I've been disappointed w/ the particular voices that the characters have been saddled with. I think we all hear our own distinct voices for our favorite charcters in our heads.

that's amazing. i love how it prevents you from knowing whats ahead by focusing on single frames. it's also awesome how you can look at each frame larger than you normal would on any printed version. i haven't read any comics at all really since i was like 8 or 10, but this really makes me wanna at least give them shot again.

@roger767 Marvel has a comic reader already on their website, with dozens of free comics. The iPad app is obviously a multi-touch version of Marvel's patented reader. It's going to be BIG for Marvel and for all comics in general.

I'm still waiting for my iPad to arrive, but I saw this app and decided to try it on the iPhone. Today I was on a 5 hour bus trip and amazingly, reading comics on the small iphone made it seem like 2. I've never been a huge comic book guy, but during my bus ride I purchased 4-5 issues, and I cannot wait to get my iPad and continue reading Fantastic Four.

i feel sad for book stores/comic stores as people will stop buying from stores as books/comics will be cheaper in the online store as online books save money on printing,packaging,transport of import,reselling and people will definitely go for the cheaper alternative and stop buying books from normal bookstores making them go broke!

@vamtire lol, not everyone has money to buy an iPad. And not everyone even KNOWS about the iPad. And most people that love to COLLECT the actual books/comics will buy it anyway. It's silly to think that people will stop buying just because it's on the iPad. Did people stop walking when the car was invented? The iPad isn't supposed to replace normal paper, it's supposed to be in addition to the physical paper, after all, we are in a digital age.

This reviewer is a little too easily impressed. With the iPad you have one of the greatest multimedia devices ever, and this is the best Marvel can do with their comics... static rehashed print?

@BuDaddy2 It's even worse than that. It's static rehashed and cut-up print. Why crop the artwork? Comics works best with juxtaposed images. Without physically juxtaposed images... these are really more like new badly-made films than old well-made comics.
