Well most animals are fearful of unknown animals, so doing any good damage/pain to a tiger is best.

If you do come face-to-face with a tiger in the wild, you're pretty much fucked without any weapons. But you can at least take some steps to increase your chance of survival...
Don't try to outrun it, because you're exposing your back and it will catch up to you.
Look for anything solid and/or sharp and try to use it as a weapon.
If it gets on top of you, do you best to cover your head and neck.
Aim for it's eyes, because you can hurt, daze, or even blind it this way and it may back off.
ofc humans would not be able to defeat a tiger in 1v1 fight to the death, but if you were attacked by these animals in the wild they would try to avoid injury, and not knowing humans they would probably be unsure about us. that's why for instance biting its nose could scare it off, as it might think we're more badass than we really are. Although most tigers would prefer to stalk you and attack from behind, if they lunge at you from the front, the best thing is to lunge towards them. That way your momentum will be directed at the tiger, decreasing the chance you would be knocked on you back, exposing your throat. If you're agile enough, elbow it in its throat, shatter its windpipe, and you win. Choking can also work. When it comes down to it, humans have a big advantage over 4-legged animals who can't reach behind their backs.

I'm amazed at how comfortable this guy is with the tigers...these animals are soo unpredictable though...beautiful but dangerous....anyways most people react with either fight or flight so I think that I would either run or start swinging my fist around lol...I wouldn't really have a thinking process at that point..=D

@bikerdude26 So true. tigers are solitary animals except for mum and cubs. Usually tigers preys are smaller than those of lions as they hunt alone.
As the lions hunt in prides, their prey include, huge animals like buffaloes, elephants, and even giraffes. Lionesses do most of the hunting, while the leader of the pride, male lion sits back and watches like a king. But i've seen in many documentaries, after the lionesses track down the prey, the male takes the honor of giving fatal bite.

dude you need to understand my comment. i said "usually". As the lions hunt in prides their preys are generally bigger than those of tigers. I've even watched on NGC, this huge elephant got owned by a lion pride!

Well most animals are fearful of unknown animals, so doing any good damage/pain to a tiger is best.
Play dead is of course Response #1, it will most likely save you period.
If that fails, next best is to do what he said, literally shove your fist down his gullet if you can, anyway you can, that'll freak the tiger out and he will usually retreat.
Now one other thing is that a pride of tigers is unsurvivable. If you get attacked by 1 tiger, but there are others watching.......

If you do come face-to-face with a tiger in the wild, you're pretty much fucked without any weapons. But you can at least take some steps to increase your chance of survival...
Don't try to outrun it, because you're exposing your back and it will catch up to you.
Look for anything solid and/or sharp and try to use it as a weapon.
If it gets on top of you, do you best to cover your head and neck.
Aim for it's eyes, because you can hurt, daze, or even blind it this way and it may back off.

ofc humans would not be able to defeat a tiger in 1v1 fight to the death, but if you were attacked by these animals in the wild they would try to avoid injury, and not knowing humans they would probably be unsure about us. that's why for instance biting its nose could scare it off, as it might think we're more badass than we really are. Correct me if i'm wrong though...

Although most tigers would prefer to stalk you and attack from behind, if they lunge at you from the front, the best thing is to lunge towards them. That way your momentum will be directed at the tiger, decreasing the chance you would be knocked on you back, exposing your throat. If you're agile enough, elbow it in its throat, shatter its windpipe, and you win. Choking can also work. When it comes down to it, humans have a big advantage over 4-legged animals who can't reach behind their backs.
