In 2006, when I was a junior in high school, I put this masterpiece of a song over a Powerpoint project about billiards for my computers class. Everyone thought I was weirdest kid in school and they were probably right, haha.
Can was a band that today represents a teaching a lesson to explore in an original way the uncharted lands of music. New generations have a lot of ship perhaps in certain way some people into underground hip-hop pretend to experiment, but most of all look for mainstream music to have a stupid hit in charts.
@comingunstrong wrong way round - a certain Manchester band took this track and Donovan's 'Barabajagal' as the blueprint for pretty much everything they did
This song is wonderful. I only found it 2 weeks ago on my birthday. It is from 1971 but sounds so much like the Happy Mondays circa 1991 and here it is 2011. I guess someone is due to repeat it soon.

I knew about the band but i haven't heard this song until yesterday night! i couldn't sleep so i turned some college radio and it was playing! WOW! :D love it!
The British rock band Supergrass announced they were making an album called 'Release the Drones'. It was said that the album was inspired by the band CAN. However the band split up and 'Release the Drones' was never made available.
@Raisingthefawn This was one of the tunes that made me crazy as beginning drummer... the robots name is Jacky Liebezeit. He and Curt Cress from germany defined what human metrum is long before they used to record with click worldwide
this song+video makes drunk people vomit, and seazure victims convulse, A+ for that, used it on friends who needed to puke, much better than a stomach pump lol.
@afghooey Yeah he was just saying there is an urban legend about how people would puke because of the intensity of their music. After all, they would play three- four hour live sets...
First heard this when Johnny Rotten played it on the Capital Radio programme with Nicky Horne "A Punk And His Music". Johnny really opened my ears and my mind with his selections that night and introduced me to a lot of stuff I've loved ever since (e.g. Dr Alimatado, CAN, Tim Buckley). This still sounds as amazing now as it did back in 77 when I first heard it....(lovely vid too)....
Can are such an underrated band. Love this record.
