Oh WOW! I remember watching this 20 years ago! I had no idea it was Robin Williams who'd narrated it. I like this version far better than the Disney version... This Bill is loveable and the Disney Bill was kinda a jerk...
I loved watching "The Fool and the Flying Ship," "Brer Rabbit and Boss Lion," "How the Camel Got His Hump and How the Rhinoceros Got His Skin," "Pecos Bill," "The Three Billy Goats Gruff and the Three Little Pigs" and so many more! I loved watching Rabbit Ears videos when I was a child and I still watch them to this day!
Well one of my favorite scenes is where Pecos finds his rattlesnake rope and where he rides on the cougar's back, and he meets Sourdough Slim, I also like the stinging guitar music at the scene where Bill tries out his rattlesnake rope, and the cougar's voice was really funny, and the part where he picks his teeth with the wagon wheel. I also like the part where he meets Widdomaker his horse, and Old Blue the steer.
@Rabbitearsblog Yeah I love the colors he used, also I love the background he did and the animals he drew, though when I first saw Pecos Bill around age three or four I thought the cougar was really freaky looking, I had no idea it even was a cougar
Yeah! I thought that the cougar looked freaky too when I was little, especially since it was bigger than Pecos Bill and it had scary looking eyes! BTW, did you think that the images in "The Fool and the Flying Ship" were freaky?
I really liked Robin Williams in this, also in The Fool and the flying ship, I also loved the Russian music in The Fool and the flying ship, also he was really great in Aladin, Shakespear animated, RV, and more, though I haven't seen him in Hook but I hope to see it soon to find out if its good or not.
@Rabbitearsblog I would have to say the fool was my favorite character, though I also liked the harry looking character and the one with the long gun.
Rabbit ears was one of the things that made me want to make art and I thank Rabbit ears with it's great art, music, and stories for making me an artist.
@Rabbitearsblog Me too. Paul Bunyan was my favorite folk hero of all. I loved the just so stories too that Jack Nicholson and Danny Glover read, and Beatrix Potter stories that meril Streep read.
I really loved the Just So Stories of Jack Nicholson too, especially when he did How the Rhinoceros Got His Skin and how the Camel Got his hump! I loved the way that Bobby McFerrin provided the music for both stories! It was awesome!!! :D
@Rcoaxum1 I have not, but I know that there is a second half to the Pecos Bill story. I have the book and the tape from when I was a child. It would be nice to see the second half on youtube.
yeah, I wanted to see the whole version too. What was your favorite part in this story? Mine's was the part where Pecos Bill was fighting the cyclone.
would be nice the english language be 100% universal, I didnt know this wonderful stories, till now, at my 35 years old, never is late, is true, haha, will take me like 5 years to recover the lost time, here I go !!!!!
Oh man, I so wish I could see the rest of it. There's so much more of it I remember from when I saw it as a kid that I want to see again. I remember the scene where the steer charges at Bill which was friggin' hilarious!
Yeah, he is extremely funny with all his accents. I just hate it when he talks like a gangster. That one gets on my nerves a bit, but this was great. Did he do it totally improv, you think?
i have this vhs! pecos bill and how the leopard got his spots. my uncle gave it to me back in like '88 or '89. i heard robbin williams finaly "came out".
wtf!? where's the second half of the story? :(
