i actually think that you could say that WOJ is a thrash/speed metal album but this record is so much more technical than the stuff the american bands released around the same time .. listen to the up tempo songs thats on WOJ theyre as ferocious as the american thrash but the melodies and the twin guitar harmonies on WOJ is mindblowing !
i think WOJ is a blistering record, a freaking landmark .. this record pushed metal even further
@radeon1986 The style changed because the original person who wrote songs etc left the band at the end of 80's, he's Kai Hansen. Also Michael Kiske left some years after. Check out Gamma Ray if you want Hansen songs though it's pure power metal.

Kai Hansen is a great guitarrist, could go back to Helloween and make a trio guitar power, Sascha, Weiki and Sascha, like Iron Maiden does. XD
