Mine won't even turn on anymore and for the past year I have had to put up with it glitching and lagging, I've had to hard reset it losing everything, photos if they even save, save in the wrong spot and the phone it self is falling apart, u can hardly hear the person talking when calling, ovi store for apps won't even work, Internet is slow... Basically it's a shit brick

I've read everywhere about this thing and the keyboard being hard/awkward to use. I used an n97 mini for the first time last week and after i worked out where the spacebar was it was easy and natural to use (first time using a qwerty keypad like that) and quite liked typing on it

this phone looks great (im getting one and i didnt get to choose if i was going to get it or not) I have seen alot of reviews about it and most have been good... There is just one thing i can see that makes the phone look old. It simply isnt pretty on the inside for example the HTC Touch pro 2 doesn't compare to it BUT the home screen/ menu screen looks better and and looks futuristic giving an instant appeal on first glance where as this phone doesnt look prettyon the inside Outside looks great

I think you will need internet quit badly,becuase its a multimedia device,so my opinion would be;buy it in a contract,with xxx phone minutes and xxx sms textmessage's in the month,with an internet bundel just like i did =)

Look at the Samsung Instinct HD and how good it is when Samsung built the OS themselves.

Same goes for Apple's iphone.

It's all about optimization done to the OS.

I bet none of you have ever tried the n97, and i mean really tried not just playing around with it for couple of minutes, but had it like a day or two. And i think its a great phone, even though it lacks compared to tilt 2 in memory and so on. But other then that, its great. Plus with the new v20 firmware it just got better :).

Its not that laggy, and the qwerty is really one of my favourites.

The touch hd is definetly not destroying it in my opinion, the update 2.0 makes it soo much better. I didnt like it at first when i tried it out.(i played with my friends n97) after a while of playing with it, i got used to it, its like it optimizes it self to your likeing. try it, you might like it. Cuz i bet you havent even used one personally.

I would have to say the first thing that bothered me was how long it took my pictures to load up when I put in my sd card at least 2 minutes Even longer when I tried to assign a picture to a contact The tow along stylus (no slot on the phone for it)is damn near unusable and trust me there are times you will need it I listen to music a lot and sometimes I don't want to put on headphones the speaker quality is tolerable at best FM transmitter is impressive but you need to be directly by the radio

However it is very possible that had I had the phone longer than two days it would have grown on me I doubt it but it's possible. Ironically the guy I sold the phone to was a nokia enthusiast and I was brutally honest with him but he wanted it anyway I swear less than a week later he had the phone listed on craigslist. 600 dollars was just too much to pay for this phone If it was 75 dollars it would have been a decent investment I currently have a Touch Pro 2 and an iPhone 3gs. I prefer the TP2

i think you may just be extremely unlucky then as i know a bunch of people who have them and haven't had software problems. they have issues with the battery but thats about it. although i think i will go ahead with the n97 cause i hate the way apple overprice everything so much. some of apps for the nokias aren't too bad as well actually.
