its an am/staff...he should say so...title says staffordshire bull terrier...not the same breed. cousins none the less..cousin to the pitbull too....But not a staffordshire bull terrier. these days you have to clarify, or all eggs get thrown into one basket!..the staffordshire bull terrier is the main ingredient in the making of the pit-bull. the am/staff is an off-shoot, that has other breeds in it and was bred for 'show' conformation.

This isn't a staffordshire Bullterrier, it is a pit bull. Staffies have hanging, floppy ears, whereas pit bulls have standing, pointy ears ( like your dog)

Actually pit bulls do not have naturally pointed ears! The ears hang much like the staffordshire only more rounded they are clipped for the pointed effect much like tail docking!

@rockyyMarchiano you should see my pit bull's ear. we reposessed her and her ears had been cut off with a meat clever and you know how pits and staffies have that lop ear that sits on her head? 1 of her ears lays on her head like that even with it cropped. the other looks like a horn. shes still beautifule to me tho <3 i love her lots.

This is why some staffs can look different from there brothers and sister (genetic traits)! The America pit ball terrier is mainly staff + English pitball but the ones with big heads with slight droopiness is from the Victorian ball dog which is very rare to see one now!

The american staff is the same breed as the pit, its the show strain of the pitbull breed, no other breed of dog has been mixed with the amStaff to make it a different breed so its a pit, the american kennel club just changed the name from pit to amStaff cos pits hav a bad name, the ukc or united kennel club register pits as american pit bull terrier(apbt), a pit can be registered with ukc as apbt and with akc as AmStaff,so their the same breed but AmStaffs are show pits there not game bred pits
