  • Absolutely stunning vocals from Katherine. She should release this to promote the musical! Once again breath-taking dancing from Jane, Chris and the accompaning dancers. Could listen to this all night long! Once again Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber has produced another showstopper!!!! All credit to an amazing composer, singer and dancers!

  • WHAT A BEAUTIFUL VOICE!!

  • wow didnt think Katherine would be able to pull off a song like that since it has a high ending but she sang it amazing! love Katherine and Sierra

  • This song was first sung many years ago when Kiri Te Kanawa paid a tribute to Andrew. The song was originally known as "My heart is slow to learn". Subsequently, the lyrics was changed to fit into this Phantom sequel...In other words, it is not original after all....

  • Sierra Boggess has much feminine voice than Katherine, Although I admire Katherine, but I think Sierra Boggess has done a better job. I might be biased after watching the play....ABSOLUTE magical....if a song can make your toes curl, hair stand, imagine what a 3hr show is going to do...

  • Stunning.

  • I love that performance, it really goes well with that routine.

  • They changed the key at the end... Anyway, I loved this, it`s such a wonderful song... Mr Webber is such a genious!!

  • i cant stop listening to this song. she sings it so perfectly. and jane and chris dancing in the background is just fantastic

  • Katherine Jenkins is amazing but i went to see the show last night and Sierra Boggess does it way better

It's such an amazing show i recommend it :)

  • You know what I love about Katherine Jenkins and her renditions of "Love Never Dies"? Not only does she sing it incredibly wonderfully, but she sings it like that CONSISTENTLY!

  • pleasant 'popera' mezzo, but only an 'opera' singer to those who've never been to a real opera.

  • I agree with caramat333. The musical world knows that Andrew Lloyd-Webber is a force to be reckoned with. However, as a loyal follower of his work, I am dissappointed that Andrew has failed to create anything original for the title track of his new work. Nevertheless, I think it works more in Love Never Dies than in The Beautiful Game somehow.

  • OMG What a powerful song. Well done Katherine and Andrew. Jayne and Chris are the most amazing ice dancers ever.

  • That was breath-taking! Absolutely amazing!

  • It is a lovely piece that's for sure, however, Mr Lloyd Webber's been a bit naughty and used some of the music from one of his other songs called "Our Kind Of Love" in the musical "The Beautiful Game" that he wrote and was performed in London around 2000. You can listen to it on the internet - tut tut Mr Lloyd Webber, not very original for such a talented chap ;o)

  • @caramat333 Hi. The tune started life even earlier than that as it came from the first go at Phantom II in the late 90's. Back then, the song was called The Heart is Slow to Learn and that is also on youtube. It was later used in The Beautiful Game but has been dropped from the re-worked version of that show which was recently performed in Canada. I like the fact it has 'come home' to the Phantom sequel, even though it obviously now has a different (and better) lyric. :)

  • Wow...this gave me chills! Amazing!

  • Just loved the whole thing. Could have watched her all the way through...Utterly fascinated by the whole thing. Made my toes curl...Loved the transposition, the frock and the old geezer on the piano.

  • A splendid mezzo soprano ... a mature voice very suitable for LND's older Christine. Enjoyed the minor but superb changes to the song, I thought the song was transposed to a lower key; and that made it much more passionate.

The orchestration is great in this performance. ALW is a genuis!

I prefer Katherine passionate voice and interpretation of the song to that of Sierra.

  • One of the modern day great stars .She shines inewverything she dors

  • Sorry she shines in everything she does .

Her tour sounds to have got off to a great start .Not the ordinary our Katherine .

    Brave girl.

  • "Really"????

  • wat a voice carn't belive she is a year older than me

  • seira shines in this number in the show, saw it 26/2/10. the music was originally written for the phantom sequel, but turned up in a beautiful game, now re used in love never dies, take a look at lloyd webbers 50th birthday concert, kiri tikanaw sings another version, the very first version of the song called the heart is slow to learn. xxx

  • I think this was better than Sierra's. Katherine does have a purer voice! Sierra sounded like her voice was going to crack when she performed this! Its so beautiful! And if you noticed, Andrew Lloyd webber was much happier after Katherine performed this than when Sierra did on FNWJR!

  • sierra's voice is more christine and brings more emotion to the song. Katherine is also very good, but I don't believe her as christine, her register is too low.

  • It brought such a shiver to my spine! I miss this kind of her voice so much since she sang more pop songs recently, but this is the voice that really suits her.

  • I prefer Sierra singing it but I prefer the orchestra in this one - sounds much improved.

  • This has been transposed to a lower key half way through because I think it goes to high for Katherine Jenkins.

  • Her voice is so pure~

  • Katherine jenkins was considered for the lead before sierra , i think Katherine could take over when sierra goes to broadway with the production

  • Nice song but has anyone noticed that the chorus sounds exactly the same as Our Kind of Love from The Beautiful Game - one of Lloyd Webber's lesser known musicals.

  • sierra is better she sang ist too low sierra can sing it higher and it sound better too mature

  • Quite frankly an amazing performance... Shame those pesky skaters where zooming about all the while and distracting from Katherines incredible tones..

  • great performance, but i like sierras voice much more

  • Song is beautiful but the melody has been taken from 'The beautiful game'...which should be the musical that takes the credit for this music! Unfortunately it was taken off the west end in 2000...best musical Lloyd Webber wrote in my opinion!

  • So beautiful....(I'm speechless)

  • Lovely performance from Katherine, though she struggled towards the end. This version has more personality and oomph than Sierra's premiere performance, but that's probably because of the lack of orchestration that accompanied Sierra.

  • It is ok but she doesn't have the variation that Sierra has...it all seems to be on one level!

I think if it wasn't for the skaters I might have been a little bored.

A plus though her diction is better than Sierra but that could just be because it doesn't seem as high!

  • Katherine's voice is so full & has such depth.

    Beautiful version.

  • Superb Katherine-I love Katherine's fullness of voice which gives this key song some body & feel.

    I prefer this version.

  • Sierras version is a million times better!

  • thanks for uploading!

  • Andrew Lloyd Webber is a genius :)

  • good, but i like sierra singing it better personally..

  • This was so amazing, I could watch it again and again. Beautiful performances.
