well, technically npcscan and silverdragon, whichever, should automatically. however, they are well known by veterans to fuck up from time to time... so, if you spam a macro (by hand or .... whatever you decide to use ......... friend.... intern.... other..) you're more likely to avoid any possible errors
@InfrangaCorp the answer is definitely not 6-7 hours, anytime there is a spawn it is a chance to be time lost, but is usually vyragosa. this is explained in the video and variously in the website, which the video info and video itself says to go to for far more information than can be fit in a ten minute video
@distantmirage i have been camping frozen lake for 4 days now, only 1 vyra kill. there are about 3 more people at frozen lake at all time. so should i go to waterfall spawn point then? more chance
@baitz0r you have to base your camp on where people are camping... and try to somehow be aware of where they are so you're up to date.. if that makes any sense

2+ months for more than 12hours per day on a full server...covering 2 of the spots most of the time.. killed more than 40 vyras.still no luck.. spawns always on the other 2.. im constantly on the frozen lake spawn spot and sometimes i haveliek 4 ppl on top of me ..other spot with alt i cover is ulduar.. guess what.. seen it dead 4 times in village and missed the 5th for some seconds when it was coming from waterfall.. if u are lucky, u will just get it .. if not ..u will still camp like me atm..

@LycanusX Considering I've seen Vyra up for a few hours unengaged before, I seriously doubt there is a despawn timer for her. Now TLPD? anybody's guess, I don't think anyone's been able to follow one around for a couple hours without it being quickly killed. sorry i don't have a better answer
Fucking saw him the other day & was too frantic to realize a person I was telling all about the Time Lost to was still in my group. He won the roll on it and told me I should have changed loot to master looter. Dude had 8 other cool drakes, Me? I've been using a Red Drake after opening at least 200 Mysterious Eggs. I asked him later how he liked the mount and he replied "It's just a mount"

To continue, from what I saw of around 10 days camping, the respawn timer seemed to be between 8-12 hours which was definitely lowered to around 5-7 if you have a group of people killing rares.
Also in regards to the rare cap in Northrend, we had 8 up at the same time, so its not a 2-5 rare cap, its actually a lot higher.
10 Days camping we killed 21 Vyragosas and 2 TLPD, we didnt get all the kills in those 10 days, we had alot of competition and still do for the mount even in Cata.
@chommy the rare cap change from 2 in wrath to what is now unknown but much higher than 2 is well documented on the website that the video and description instructs to go read for more information - the video is just a very very brief overview - and becoming outdated as more and more changes (will be making a new video soon that is more complete)
Ponderance, I just got the Time-Lost thanks to your video, it took me around 7-10 days.
I got my TLPD at the Ulduar spawn point, It spawned literally 5 seconds after a friend of mine killed Skoll, I had 2 friends roaming Northrend killing rares which definitely seemed to bring the timer down quite dramatically and others on the spawn points you showed in the video.
Dont give up guys, if you can get a team together you can do this, if not just pick a spot and camp there as often as you can, GL.
Got it after 3½ hours at Ulduar spot. Fell down the Mountain when he spawned.. but i got fired an arcane shot on him before i died :P Thank u very much for your help.:)
My server is dead in storm peaks, so I sit in middle to see all 4 paths. I've killed vyragosa twice today. No one is ever on any of the 4 spots on my server.

Note: There's nothing wrong with the quality of the video. At lowest settings you can very clearly see the minimap and it's massively easy to glance at it and glance at a map that's open and see where you are. If I catered to the least skilled people in the world I would do nothing but that.

@Chaoyll Fraps. The quality would be higher if I did it now with my new rig. Might do that because there is a lot I would like to add. Maybe make a companion video that dispells a lot of the myths out there. Mainly i would explain how exactly flying around is by far the worst possible thing to do. But yeah, fraps.

Min time after a vyra or tlpd kill in cata is 45 minutes. Usually it's 2-8 hours. Usually it's Vyragosa. There's no way to predict it, it's random. No spawn spot is a hot spot.
@EdilarinProducts No. If you read the updates, 45 minutes is the lowest time between vyra spawns / vyra tlpd / tlpd spawns. Say 3h all you want, but the fact is 45 minutes between dead on and some extra minutes on some occurances. The max is surely not six days. I've been in a camp where, quite literally all four spawn spots were camped for 26 days solid, 24/7, 100%. All vyra spawns 'till the 26th day.
@EdilarinProducts I would like to add, hopefully you know there's always going to be quite a few vyra spawns in a 6 day period. Any vyra could have been a TLPD, that's how it's always worked and that was figured out a long time ago. Sorry if this is all new info to you. (Read up on tlpdresource website, wowhead is a really, really bad joke when it comes to this info.)
Got mine this morning :) 4 months of 20 - 30 hours a week. 1 tlpd corpse sighting, 1 near miss, 53 Vyra kills (countless more Vyra sightings) and I finally have it. Emerald Dream EU Tuesday morning 5:19 am, waterfall spawn. Caught him as he passed by me at frozen lake.
Just trust the info on tlpd resource, guys, seriously, if you are patient you will get one. Good luck to all camping, I'm off to get some sleep!
@uhMuzoki Same reason a lot of us have a lot of the mounts we have. Mount collecting. I have at least 20 or 30 mounts in my collection I never use because I don't like them at all.
@hellsmaniacs As far as your first question, that is answered extensively in the video and on the site. The second question, it absolutely is still accurate. The site is updated often and the comments here reflect changes made that need corrected from the video, or are otherwise notably changed from wrath or have been recently updated.
@brzk456 each time there is a spawn, it is usually vyragosa. then the process starts over. forget all the crap you read on wowhead, most of it is half right or totally wrong. as it says in video and description, tons more info is on tlpdresource please read that, so we dont have to retype for no reason. and, good luck with tlpd!
1) If people don't know storm peaks, there's a ton more information on the site that's mentioned and linked to.
2) Most people who are looking up Time-Lost are quite familiar with WoW, and all the zones in it. They can get around easily and recognize exactly where people are.
I was flying around looking for the time lost proto drake...then my npc scanner went off and said the blue drake thing can't remember name was up on a cliff dead but there was no players in sight it really sucks:[
@TheZensty probably left after they killed it as there's no point in sitting around after a vyra kill for at least 45 minutes (in cataclysm)... i know i leave for 45 minutes at least when there's a vyra spawn.
@UltraFan123 No. Vyra spawns out of the ground exactly there, and flies to the north/northwest. At no point is it ever above that spot. Blue Proto Drakes fly in circles around that mountain the whole time. Kind of annoying / freaky after a while.

Thanks for this very helpful guide as well as your site. I'm camping TLPD on my own. I appreciate you need tons of patience to finally get such a mount. What I wanted to ask is, in your experience, what would you say was on average, the time you had to camp till you saw her? I've noticed logs in your site dated in 2008 where TLPD wouldn't show up for a couple of weeks. Is this something you noticed to be the majority of cases?
I'm only now beginning my TLPD sit in. I was going to my Insane title, Loremaster, and a few others instead. Looking for info on this mount. led me to you. I don't have it yet, but I'm sure with your info that I will have it in due time. Sorry to find out a decent player (as far as personality goes) does not play anymore. A dying breed, more so with the incoming Kung-Fu Pokemon people. Again, pre-thanks for all the work you did to make my camping easier and less stressful.
@supermeme4 As far as anyone knows it'll fly the path forever until it is found. GMs have said it does, does not despawn, and they don't know or can't say. So that's no help. However, it has been engaged before and held, then reset and disappeared on multiple occasions. So, if it's found and held for a long time, don't die. Kill it. Just in case.
@distantmirage Yeah, I would hope so. I think I've clocked over 1k hours for time-lost alone, lol. But I mean, it's not just this that I've been unlucky at. It took me 38 figurines for the camel, and I have 75 TK & EoE runs, mounts reserved, with no drop yet. I've also killed attumen every week since wrath launch. I guess lady luck is a cunt. Anyways, thanks, this was a good guide. About half of my TLPD time was at bor's breath, non-spawn point, so I feel like I've wasted tons of time.

@smittfish I would never camp anywhere but a spawn spot, period. Even on the spawn spot (or near it, depending on if you're on a pvp server that's another story obviously) -- you have a good chance of cutting him off from the waterfall spawn. He's pretty fucked, whoever is over the lake itself. Because, obviously, he has no shot at the actual frozen lake spot and good competition for waterfall. He's as fucked as you with how far Ulduar has to make it. So, I wouldn't worry. :D

Told someone that was camping to go to a totally random spot and told them that it was a spawn spot, then I stayed at the spot they were originally at. Within 20 minutes at their spot, I found TLPD. Muahahah
First of all you need to get NPCScan and / or SilverDragon, those are addons that will help you target rares, TLPD for example. If you are 2 guys camping i would like to reccomend that one camps at the village spawn point, and the other one at the frozen waterfall thing. That is one hell of a badass combo. Took me 3-4 weeks to get this dragon. Good luck peeps!
@TheMuppzor1 He means Frozen Lake. Waterfall / Brunnhildar combo would leave 2 paths totally unwatched. @PCgameproductions You also need NPC_Overlay. That's what adds general color fields to the map.

@PCgamesproductions That coloured thing on the map shows where TLPD and Vyra flies, that's called NPCScan Overlay, you can find it on CurseClient. Good luck!
Just killed Vyragosa at 2:16:40 after camping the first camp spot (frozen lake). This is my 4th Vyra kill this week, 3 at this spawn spot, and once after camping the multipath camp. I saw TLPD dead at 6:33 Wednesday morning, 100 meter from where I was camping on frozen lake. I'm on The Venture Co. Still camping my balls off, hoping to get it soon. Been camping 3 weeks now. Ahh ok,got you, Ive been trying to figure out the directions they fly once they spawn, from the first spot you show I believe it flies towards Valkyrion? From the second spot you show he flies up the frozen river towards the first spot then bares left and makes the circle around the mountain? Im trying to figure out the directions so that when I first come on I can make a run that goes against the direction he is flying so you can run into him instead of following forever!

Been searching for couple years now with no luck. Have spent a LOT of time in Storm Peaks looking for it but since given up. Killed Vyragosa 3-4 times now though. Since TLPD spawns have been confirmed 45 minutes after a Vyragosa kill, would it be best to just camp for as long as possible after a Vyragosa kill?
@Mycenaea I'm not sure of proof being posted, there's talk about the first one we heard about in the forums on tlpdresource, and I've personally seen screenshots with time stamps (prat) in my emails of 2 vyras in a row multiple times from multiple people - you can not believe it all you want but I have to try to provide the best information I can (unfortunately they wont let me forward the pics to the sites because if I do that, I leave names - credibility. edited out names doesn't look good.
@Mycenaea I know of a time TLPD's corpse didn't despawn for over 24 hours (bugged), and there's always private servers, so.... you have to remember private servers (and don't worry, I do, I look into things a lot and I've had a ton of tries of people claiming stuff from private servers - the 45 minute, and there are 3 i know of for sure, they're people who i've been swapping info with and talking to forever and they were just as surprised as I was hearing about it when it happened) :D
Oh one other thing. Do you know the spawn times for TLPD? Ive heard 12:00 7:00 10:00 11:00, but is there any truth to this? Thanks!

Note: There's nothing wrong with the quality of the video. At lowest settings you can very clearly see the minimap and it's massively easy to glance at it and glance at a map that's open and see where you are. If I catered to the least skilled people in the world I would do nothing but that.

Maybe make a companion video that dispells a lot of the myths out there. Mainly i would explain how exactly flying around is by far the worst possible thing to do. But yeah, fraps.

Min time after a vyra or tlpd kill in cata is 45 minutes. Usually it's 2-8 hours. Usually it's Vyragosa. There's no way to predict it, it's random. No spawn spot is a hot spot.

@EdilarinProducts No. If you read the updates, 45 minutes is the lowest time between vyra spawns / vyra tlpd / tlpd spawns. Say 3h all you want, but the fact is 45 minutes between dead on and some extra minutes on some occurances. The max is surely not six days. I've been in a camp where, quite literally all four spawn spots were camped for 26 days solid, 24/7, 100%. All vyra spawns 'till the 26th day.
Sorry to disagree. But that's the fact.

Any vyra could have been a TLPD, that's how it's always worked and that was figured out a long time ago. Sorry if this is all new info to you. Got mine this morning :) 4 months of 20 - 30 hours a week. 1 tlpd corpse sighting, 1 near miss, 53 Vyra kills (countless more Vyra sightings) and I finally have it. Emerald Dream EU Tuesday morning 5:19 am, waterfall spawn. Caught him as he passed by me at frozen lake.
Just trust the info on tlpd resource, guys, seriously, if you are patient you will get one. Good luck to all camping, I'm off to get some sleep!

@brzk456 each time there is a spawn, it is usually vyragosa. then the process starts over. forget all the crap you read on wowhead, most of it is half right or totally wrong. as it says in video and description, tons more info is on tlpdresource please read that, so we dont have to retype for no reason. and, good luck with tlpd!

1) If people don't know storm peaks, there's a ton more information on the site that's mentioned and linked to.
2) Most people who are looking up Time-Lost are quite familiar with WoW, and all the zones in it. They can get around easily and recognize exactly where people are.

@TheZensty probably left after they killed it as there's no point in sitting around after a vyra kill for at least 45 minutes (in cataclysm)... i know i leave for 45 minutes at least when there's a vyra spawn.

@UltraFan123 No. Vyra spawns out of the ground exactly there, and flies to the north/northwest. At no point is it ever above that spot. Blue Proto Drakes fly in circles around that mountain the whole time. Kind of annoying / freaky after a while.

Thanks for this very helpful guide as well as your site. I'm camping TLPD on my own. I appreciate you need tons of patience to finally get such a mount. What I wanted to ask is, in your experience, what would you say was on average, the time you had to camp till you saw her? I've noticed logs in your site dated in 2008 where TLPD wouldn't show up for a couple of weeks. Is this something you noticed to be the majority of cases?

I'm only now beginning my TLPD sit in. I was going to my Insane title, Loremaster, and a few others instead. Looking for info on this mount. led me to you. I don't have it yet, but I'm sure with your info that I will have it in due time. Sorry to find out a decent player (as far as personality goes) does not play anymore. A dying breed, more so with the incoming Kung-Fu Pokemon people. Again, pre-thanks for all the work you did to make my camping easier and less stressful.

@supermeme4 As far as anyone knows it'll fly the path forever until it is found. GMs have said it does, does not despawn, and they don't know or can't say. So that's no help. However, it has been engaged before and held, then reset and disappeared on multiple occasions. So, if it's found and held for a long time, don't die. Kill it. Just in case.

@distantmirage Yeah, I would hope so. I think I've clocked over 1k hours for time-lost alone, lol. But I mean, it's not just this that I've been unlucky at. It took me 38 figurines for the camel, and I have 75 TK & EoE runs, mounts reserved, with no drop yet. I've also killed attumen every week since wrath launch. I guess lady luck is a cunt. Anyways, thanks, this was a good guide. About half of my TLPD time was at bor's breath, non-spawn point, so I feel like I've wasted tons of time.

- My server is dead, moslty it's just me in Storm Peaks, not even people who is leveling, so wondering if you can give me some tips there.

@smittfish I would never camp anywhere but a spawn spot, period. Even on the spawn spot (or near it, depending on if you're on a pvp server that's another story obviously) -- you have a good chance of cutting him off from the waterfall spawn. He's pretty fucked, whoever is over the lake itself. Because, obviously, he has no shot at the actual frozen lake spot and good competition for waterfall. He's as fucked as you with how far Ulduar has to make it. So, I wouldn't worry. :D

Told someone that was camping to go to a totally random spot and told them that it was a spawn spot, then I stayed at the spot they were originally at. Within 20 minutes at their spot, I found TLPD. Muahahah

First of all you need to get NPCScan and / or SilverDragon, those are addons that will help you target rares, TLPD for example. If you are 2 guys camping i would like to reccomend that one camps at the village spawn point, and the other one at the frozen waterfall thing. That is one hell of a badass combo. Took me 3-4 weeks to get this dragon. Good luck peeps!

@TheMuppzor1 He means Frozen Lake. Waterfall / Brunnhildar combo would leave 2 paths totally unwatched. @PCgameproductions You also need NPC_Overlay. That's what adds general color fields to the map.

Just killed Vyragosa at 2:16:40 after camping the first camp spot (frozen lake). This is my 4th Vyra kill this week, 3 at this spawn spot, and once after camping the multipath camp. I saw TLPD dead at 6:33 Wednesday morning, 100 meter from where I was camping on frozen lake. I'm on The Venture Co. Still camping my balls off, hoping to get it soon. Been camping 3 weeks now. I was under the impression he would spawn on the cliff where you landed but he spawned right over the waterfall in the air hovering.I was lucky also I just got to the waterfall after making a run around the map double checking! I also got Dirkee yesterday Ive been camping about 6-10 hours a day over 4 days!

Ahh ok,got you, Ive been trying to figure out the directions they fly once they spawn, from the first spot you show I believe it flies towards Valkyrion? From the second spot you show he flies up the frozen river towards the first spot then bares left and makes the circle around the mountain? Im trying to figure out the directions so that when I first come on I can make a run that goes against the direction he is flying so you can run into him instead of following forever!

Been searching for couple years now with no luck. Have spent a LOT of time in Storm Peaks looking for it but since given up. Killed Vyragosa 3-4 times now though. Since TLPD spawns have been confirmed 45 minutes after a Vyragosa kill, would it be best to just camp for as long as possible after a Vyragosa kill?

@Mycenaea I'm not sure of proof being posted, there's talk about the first one we heard about in the forums on tlpdresource, and I've personally seen screenshots with time stamps (prat) in my emails of 2 vyras in a row multiple times from multiple people - you can not believe it all you want but I have to try to provide the best information I can (unfortunately they wont let me forward the pics to the sites because if I do that, I leave names - credibility. edited out names doesn't look good.

@Mycenaea I know of a time TLPD's corpse didn't despawn for over 24 hours (bugged), and there's always private servers, so.... you have to remember private servers (and don't worry, I do, I look into things a lot and I've had a ton of tries of people claiming stuff from private servers - the 45 minute, and there are 3 i know of for sure, they're people who i've been swapping info with and talking to forever and they were just as surprised as I was hearing about it when it happened) :D
