I remember in town ( Manchester ), there was this shop where if I remember right...upstairs was the punk half and down below was the Mod ..ska scene....way back late 70's early 80's..anyone remember the name of it ?
80 - 81 was a great time to be a young lad in Manchester, as these two would of been, it was all about adidas back then as it was in Liverpool. Only us and the scousers for a long time knew what to wear on the terraces. th e fucking cockneys clocked on well after and then said they were the first
@garden575 Who gives a shit, all I'm interested about is Noel's music, Ian's music, being interested in whatever they do on the side is called being a stalker.
I'm sure they dont give a shit what people say. They went straight from here to the Ferrari garage to spend the fuck loads of money they were given by Adidas to kiss it's arse.
We´re the best out of Britain. We are about 94% perfect. I reckon the Arctic Monkeys are probably about 78 maybe 80%.....We´re definitely the winners and should get a medal.
A riposte worthy of a genius Andy. Unfortunately, brand slavery isn't confined to Manchester, although that particular sewer has more than it's fair share of brainless, fashion obsessed wankers.
a fuckin advert for adidas. come on lads . whats next " hey our kid , just ow fucking much do u love fuckn coffe. hey , ah luv coffey me, but onley fuckn starbucks"?
@garden575 I think you've missed the point a little. Yeah there's no question adi' are paying them both a handsome some of money to do this kinda thing, but if you grow up into a brand like adidas as these to true Mancunians have, then it's almost as much of a dream to then be working with them I imagine.
Noel is well know to be a MASSIVE aid' head with what is no doubt an epic collection. IB is a big street wear fan, so again, a natural tie. Stuff like this isn't always about a pay cheque
@robseven7 I got the point, I just find it sickening. Fair enough, if an uncool brand like Hunter wellies or Timotei had offered them the same amount they'd have probably still gone with the trainer advert. It doesn't change the fact they're using their fame to help an immensely wealthy company sell overpriced crap to the impressionable and perpetuating an illusion that brands and labels mean something worthwhile.
Adidas aren't more durable or comfortable than no name trainers from a cheapo shop. People would be better buying them and saving money. It's all about a false image attached to a name, we shouldn't allow ourselves to be exploited like that. Would brand name worshippers buy exactly the same trainers if the name was left off and there was a different number of stripes? We need to free our minds from all that. Advertising and branding is mind rape and that pair of twats are part of it.
Fucking sellouts- not that either of those talentless morons from Wankfester had much to sell out to begin with. Real musicians don't have to use their celebrity status to flog trainers to idiots. Idiots who'll buy them just because some posturing celebrity cock uses their fame in the service of empty commerce.
@MONKEYMAGIC7 Thanks for that amazing insight. It's also called 'celebrities using their fame and the inexplicable respect accorded to them in order to sell over priced, badly made crap to the gullible' or 'swallowing corporate jizz and vomiting the curdled remains back into people's faces'. Orwell said that advertisers see the public as swine and that advertising was the banging of the stick on the swill bucket. Nothing has changed since he made that observation.
I bought my first pair of Adidas a month ago. They're (Ian Brown's) & I liked the style of them, a style I've not seen available in Adidas before. I'm now thinking about buying the half size smaller from the store cause they are pure comfort & style in one. Thanks Ian Brown, Your a Legend. ;)
@SypherDubstep It Isn't an insult, really just an observation. But since you replied in the manner you did, I will also comment on the also quite typical hostile attitude and aggressive demeanor. I don't mind any of it, its also just an observation.
burnt brains... puke over their sayings, love their music!!! bernard tapie run away with the money THESE TWO working class boys should have got for their anonymous working in dull third world cellars, for their fooking altar works for global textile trusts instead of allowing grannies to grant some poor children any good chocolate cake for christmas, fooking bastards selling your fooking soul!!!

can't blame them really most people say they wouldn't sell out but if somone offers you like £10,000 to say a few words for adidas and drink beer with an alien you probably change your mind pretty quick
@JoeyDPro2009 Don't get me wrong, i love the Roses and Oasis as much as the next person, but without Morrissey & Marr, neither group would be making the music we love them for.
