But this is an old video, this was made just after I started playing, and I'm still going strong and love the game. It does frustrate me at times 'cause SE is annoying. If you enjoy the game and your real life isnt suffering for it than there is no reason to worry about it. If your neglecting real life responsibilities or real life friends and family than the game has become a problem for you. What you do with your leisure time is your business, aslong as it isnt taking you away from your family or work.

Propitiation of ifrit here. i sometimes wonder why i still play too, i guess i just want to see what its like to hold an aegis in my hand, or a kraken club. i do hate the game from time to time. and its not full of nice people like i thot it was when i was a noob. but i still play every day for 8hrs or more i even play at work!

i been playing since the game came out im 19 years old now all i do is play ffxi day in and day out and you know the most screwed up thing is i know im anti social im so anti social i dont even talk to anyone in game i question everyday why i play the game because i have no clue i mean if i didnt id prolly sleep all day or watch tv all day anyway it keeps me active i guess
I find that I'm anti social in game now. I don't have a linkshell anymore and just do my own thing. Been in too many linkshells where the help is just one way - you spend time helping others and never get any help back. I still love FFXI though.
I was the same way, but I blame it due to the shyness :3. That includes any other game. After I quit, all I did was watch TV. I have to agree with you boologic and I bet everyone can agree that FFXI was not an easy game. Hm, curious to anyone who's reading, are you getting FFXIV? :D
just fuck those ppl who tell you to grow up and shit, many ppl game its a good escape from reality and its fun, lol my only problem is i suck at final fantasy 11 since i dont have a ps2 keybord its hard to meet ppl and chat so im stuck soloing always and always die, im glad you meet great ppl online, and because you play a game it doesnt mean your anti social, i meet alot of cool ppl in other games on my ps3 like little big planet and stuff.

But here I am starting friggin COP again for one of my friends that should have did it with us in the first place so now I gotta start from the damn promys again. I dont know why I play either. But I do know that I'd miss most of my ff friends so thats prob why I stick around.
if you want my opinion dont let anyone make you 2nd guess what you enjoy! As crazy as it sounds ppl can enjoy the hell out of this game and still have a social life. i been playing this game maybe just as long as you and have 3 75's among all the time to get missions done and whatnot and still keep up with work, friends and goin out and having fun. but even if you were anti-social im pretty sure you look damn good enough to jump back in the social life lol

I did some research for a research paper not too long ago, and it turns out that only about ~3% to 7% (something like that) of children and adolescents in middle/high school don't play games at all. Turns out video games are a pretty big socializing tool among children. More interesting is those who didn't play games tended to get into disputes and destroy property more. Go figure.
The media tell us a lot of shit. It tells us people who play MMOs are generally nerdy teenagers with glasses who sit in front of their computer screen with a hunched back all day, or some other BS like that. Don't let it get to you, because it will tell you a lot of other nonsense, and it could be worse. Trust me.
bah cheer up! this game is a great place to go to chill! its not a waste. its an online community that you can go and visit people, and if you do come across that one dushbag its easy to ignore them... /blacklist add "whoever" works well. and there isn't anything anti social about an online MMORPG! its one of the most social things available!
and btw. SMN is the best "large sum of damage in a very short amount of time" job EVER! sucks its a pain to level. much like BLM which I'm currently on
