@crowdaddy13 i think that zetro souza and paul baloff (r.i.p.) were both awesome for exodus, and while rob dukes is okay, i definitely think that his predecessors were better

Quite a humorous incident tonight, amid by many thrash metal posters in my room I found A FALLOUT BOY POSTER. I must have put it up in some rare misjudgement. Now for the hilarity: I said to myself, "Time to put you back in your place. You made a mistake coming out of the closet". Get it, closet? It came out of my closet to be put on my wall. I make myself laugh sometimes.
They have been changed alot over the years, singer, tuning, mixing... all the stuff. Not saying they are bad now but their 'orginal' shit like bonded by blood 20+ years ago is still the definition of thrash metal to me.
their entry level stuff is why they are great now, you're not even giving examples of how they suck. you probably haven't listened to any new material. how can you use dream theater as an example to prove your point when they have COMPLETELY different ways of playing metal? between dream theater, devildriver and lamb of god, no one in those bands had "notable" talent when they all started playing. why dont you show everyone here what is good metal? you shouldn't even listening to exodus.

It's taste. Taste has different qualities. For example, I use something easy. Lamb of God is for those with bad taste. Early Exodus is for those with good tastes. Though, those with bad tastes can also like bands for those with good tastes and visa versa, this does not make the band in question any better or worse. Lamb of God is still horrible if Exodus fan A listens to them, and they will be made fun of still.

You may call it the "underground metal scene", the scene that's been alive and good since the late 60's, playing real Metal instead of following the crap trends.

I would be more than happy to actually share FACTS instead of opinions on why I'm sure your choices are vastly inferior
Maybe top 100 because I know a lot of albums that came out that year that would destroy a once-great Thrash band that was ruined by a crap vocalist who belongs in a Panterrible-clone Groove Metal/Metalcore band (like LoG, perhaps?). Maybe one of the best album of "Bands everyone with a small knowledge of Metal knows"/"Most accessible bands."
No self-respecting Metalhead would say anything bad against Motorhead, Venom or Voivod or the countless bands I love.
@ThazuaBlackarrow Rob Dukes is a very good vocalist for what Exodus is doing NOW. Even Gary Holt said he wasn't a great vocalist when he started out and he grew into the role. Now they make excellent music. pick up their past 3 albums you'll be listening for years on end. So lets hear those great bands, who are they? I'm not a huge fan of Venom and Voivod but they are great at what they do. Motorhead needs no defending, EVERY metalhead should love them, period.

They're well known because they're entry-level stuff marketed for try hards and people just getting into the music. They aren't good, and having talent doesn't make you worth repsecting if you use said talent to make shitty music.

Exodus' guitar sound has gotten alot beefier. It used to be so rediculously over the top saturated in gain it sounded like as Mustaine put it " someone lighting tin foil on fire." This is a cool tune, sweet solo.

@robang101 I don't represent anyone. But the vast majority of metalheads who are keeping Metal, true Metal, alive all feel the same way. The "we" I refer to. While bands like Lamb of God come along with their try-hard aggressiveness and saturated, commercial bullshit for poseurs, there are tons of bands who still play good Metal. You may call it the "underground metal scene", the scene that's been alive and good since the late 60's, playing real Metal instead of following the crap trends.

LOG, Devildriver, Exodus, Amon Amarth, and soooo many other are all derivatives of each other in some way shape or form. As far as the "Underground Metal Scene" that's where it ALL starts. To call a band bad is irrelevant if you dislike them. It's all opinionated. those bands I mentioned are FAR from pushing commercial crap on anyone. listen to LOG lyrics and you would see that.

So tell me, what bands do you hold on your own personal pedestal and let the rest of "us" (I use that term loosely) give our honest opinion of how they compare to the leading "true metal" bands today. I would be more than happy to actually share FACTS instead of opinions on why I'm sure your choices are vastly inferior

Maybe top 100 because I know a lot of albums that came out that year that would destroy a once-great Thrash band that was ruined by a crap vocalist who belongs in a Panterrible-clone Groove Metal/Metalcore band (like LoG, perhaps?). Maybe one of the best album of "Bands everyone with a small knowledge of Metal knows"/"Most accessible bands."
No self-respecting Metalhead would say anything bad against Motorhead, Venom or Voivod or the countless bands I love.

@ThazuaBlackarrow Rob Dukes is a very good vocalist for what Exodus is doing NOW. Even Gary Holt said he wasn't a great vocalist when he started out and he grew into the role. Now they make excellent music. pick up their past 3 albums you'll be listening for years on end. So lets hear those great bands, who are they? I'm not a huge fan of Venom and Voivod but they are great at what they do. Motorhead needs no defending, EVERY metalhead should love them, period.

Exodus' guitar sound has gotten alot beefier. It used to be so rediculously over the top saturated in gain it sounded like as Mustaine put it " someone lighting tin foil on fire." This is a cool tune, sweet solo.
