I was pleased to find out that I wasn't alone, that Jehovah wittiness had the same view on Jesus the Son of God not that Jesus is God. I don't agree with them totally like their beliefs on death. But no one has the total truth.
Wow! That's what God told me to do. Read the bible as a child, forgetting all that I was taught. When I did this, the Bible was made very clear to me. I started as a Jesus was God reader then as I read it anew, PRESTO! Jesus isn't God. I can"t find any scriptures in the Bible that say Jesus is God, unless I start to change the meanings of the words. Some texts I think gives a better idea that there`s a posibility for a trinity is MT. 4:10,11. Where Jesus tells Satan that you should only serve God (Jehovah in a witness bible), and then in vers 11 it says the angels came and served Jesus. Ëmanuel, or Immanuel, means "God with us", which could mean that Jesus brought Gods blessings to his followers or that he was a part of a trinity so God was with them literary. Anoninted is the translated word from Christ.

The trinity is the Father Son, and Holy Spirit, all of one nature or one thought in Oneness. The Son isn't Jesus. God is Spirit, not flesh and blood. @2017Downtown: Slavery was the way things were done back then. EVERYONE did it, not just the people of the bible. It's the equivalent to having a job today. Difference is we get a pay check they got food and shelter. The company we work for now in essence owns you by way of owning your rights to work and thus pay you for your labour. It is about one thing and one thing only the sacrifice made on behalf of our sins, and when our children attend this event they are aware it is for Jesus and not a gift getting event, masked with santa claus who they later find out to be fake. The reality is most of your questions demonstrate that you understand very little about what Christians actually believe and what the bible really teaches. You know what the GB says about the bible now take some time to prayerfully read it without their influence and see what it really says. Do you trust God enough to lead you or only men?
@21crosscheck21 I was hoping you would say this... it just so happens im not a JW nor can I actually speak for them I was raised as one when at the age of 21 something tramatic happened to me. Nothing to do with the religion... I have had a phobia every since tried so many times to go to the kingdom hall and I cant bring myself to leave the house. I love people always willing to help, but I dont like to be around people. But I know the JW's are the truth just my examples alone solidify that.

@21crosscheck21 JWs are held accountable inside the congregation for their actions. Should they violate a commandment and are repentant, they are generally reproved and repent and go forward. Unrepentant ones are disfellowshipped. The reason is the person is unrepentant, and continuing their indulgence in the sin and are considered unclean by the congregation and are no longer desired in the fellowship until they change their ways. What is your religions position on careless sinning?

I agree with you 21crosscheck21 that the Bible should stand as God's word to guide Christians. The 30 day challenge should be spend 30 days to research and test whether or not the Organization is really a prophet for God, and if he is truly using them as his channel of communication. Because it will take more than 30 days for brain washing to clear just reading the bible. Because when you read it you recall what they taught. Just a week of research and I knew they were not!
They cannot meet this challenge. Russell forbade it saying that "to read the Bible without help (watchtower) will bring one into total darkness". Also they are warned against "apostate material" such as this video even.
Brian offers a challenge, exhorting JWs to put down all Watchtower literature, and asks them only read the Word of God, Jesus Christ for 30 days. This is exactly what the first century believers did, they read the gospels and the epistles of Lord Jesus' Apostles and disciples.

I do not lie cheat or steal, and I NEVER tolerate anyone that does; therefore I garbaged all teachings of JW religious rulers and just read the Word of God, my Bible. The truth: Son of God Christ the Lord ever co-existed from eternity within Holy Abba Father; as He said Jn16:27-28. The Word of God and His Apostles were very clear on this truth.
Within book of Revelation, God explains what the symbols pictures allegories numbers beasts ect means. Of all 27 NT books of Bible, the Revelation of Jesus Christ given to John, quotes OT law of Moses, the prophets and the Psalms the most. Criteria for interpretation is same as any NT book; knowing this first, it is "prophecy" 1:3, and chronology thereof is given in 1:19, with two Greek words "meta tauta" = "after these things" = 1:19; 4:1(x2); 7:1,9; 9:12; 15:5; 18:1; 19:1; 20:3.
One thing I would have liked for you to have included and I seldom see it discussed. Spend time alone with the bible and pray, Pray non ceasing. Pray while reading and ask for direction and guidance. Pray when not reading. Pray in the car on the way to work and on the way home. Ask God for answers.

Wow! That's what God told me to do. Read the bible as a child, forgetting all that I was taught. When I did this, the Bible was made very clear to me. I started as a Jesus was God reader then as I read it anew, PRESTO! Jesus isn't God. I can"t find any scriptures in the Bible that say Jesus is God, unless I start to change the meanings of the words. Example the WORD is Jesus or God in the flesh does not mean God "AS" the flesh,or the Spirit descended on Jesus doesn't mean the temple is Spirit.

The consept of trinity is not to think of jehovah, jesus and the holy spirit to be the same beeing, but that they are not created and that they all can work independent. @questioneverything2 I am a little unsure if you are a witness or if you belong to another belief. The witnesses believe the son is Jesus, and that Emanuel is another name of Jesus. They also believe that michael the archangel, the word, the king and the lamb is also other names for Jesus. The word was "a" God in say in the bible of the witnesses, so yes Jesus is a god to. But this dosn`t count for you if you are not a jw.

@NeedUpgrade I am not a Jehovah's Witness, I only read the Bible. Emanuel means"God is with us"Jesus means "the Lord is salvation" Clearly they aren't the same. God is with us and is with us now. "The Lord is salvation" only informs us there is salvation available. It should be obvious the body temple of Jesus isn't with us now, (The flesh and blood can't be within us) But that Spirit Son of God is with us now(Spirit indwelling) Jesus, a servant of God, His body temple was a (lamb) sacrifice.

@NeedUpgrade Anyway, I could see that you disagree on the doctrine of trinity. You wanted another text that support john 1:1. As for myself, I found it difficult to concider the trinity to be biblical, but when you see how the new testament is written, Jesus and God shares everything, it even say that Jesus is the true judge in one text, and God is judge in another. In order for texts like these not to contradict each other, the possibility for a trinity occurs as an explanation. In my opinion.

Some texts I think gives a better idea that there`s a posibility for a trinity is MT. 4:10,11. Where Jesus tells Satan that you should only serve God (Jehovah in a witness bible), and then in vers 11 it says the angels came and served Jesus. Some other texts you could check if you want is MT 11:25-28. Mt 28:19. 1. John 5:7. Thats 4 texts for now. I will look for more if you want me to suggest more. I wish you no bad, I just like to talk about the bible.

(Satan and God has also many titles). Christ was not created, he is refferd to as the origin of every created thing, through Jesus is all things created. And Jesus is christ. @NeedUpgrade Jesus is messiah, which means chosen. I suppose it could mean a chosen part of the trinity. Jesus is son of God because he was born on earth by the help of God. Ëmanuel, or Immanuel, means "God with us", which could mean that Jesus brought Gods blessings to his followers or that he was a part of a trinity so God was with them literary. Anoninted is the translated word from Christ.

The trinity is the Father Son, and Holy Spirit, all of one nature or one thought in Oneness. The Son isn't Jesus. God is Spirit, not flesh and blood. @2017Downtown: Slavery was the way things were done back then. EVERYONE did it, not just the people of the bible. It's the equivalent to having a job today. Difference is we get a pay check they got food and shelter. The company we work for now in essence owns you by way of owning your rights to work and thus pay you for your labour. It's just a matter of labour laws and some rights gained in 2000 plus years.

Lord came to visit her one day and she found out that Jesus is God in flesh and declared it and cried a lot. She bathed in His Spirit for full two days and kept crying as she found her Lord. I dont know about you but it can also be messy, I notice the traffic in town the last week before hand is scary, ppl are cursing and angry. Also arrest reports in the local newspaper spike during this particular holiday, with drinking and driving, domestic violence with all the stress, wanting to get everyone gifts but you cant. @21crosscheck21 JW's honor the sacrifice of Jesus Christ by attending a memorial known as the passover. It is a quiet peaceful day, no gifts are given. It is about one thing and one thing only the sacrifice made on behalf of our sins, and when our children attend this event they are aware it is for Jesus and not a gift getting event, masked with santa claus who they later find out to be fake. Honoring the son of the creator is rather important and respectful dont you say? How do YOU do it?

Nothing to do with the religion... I have had a phobia every since tried so many times to go to the kingdom hall and I cant bring myself to leave the house. @21crosscheck21 JWs are held accountable inside the congregation for their actions. Should they violate a commandment and are repentant, they are generally reproved and repent and go forward. Unrepentant ones are disfellowshipped. The reason is the person is unrepentant, and continuing their indulgence in the sin and are considered unclean by the congregation and are no longer desired in the fellowship until they change their ways. What is your religions position on careless sinning?

When left to study the bible with no direction at all its left open to misinterpretation, thats why YOU'RE SAVED and it's ok to go to WAR. JW's are directed by Jehovahs holy spirited which directs the governing body, its not rocket science Jesus isnt cool with signing up for the military and killing iraqis... We are told to love our neighbor. BTW JW's read a bible thats not vague Kings James... Get clear dude...

theres no way a jw can read the bible alone with out help from any other influance not even for 10 minutes one day and they would quit the witnesses day two they would probly kill them selfs after seeing how far off the mark they are if they could live to day 3 they would probly become born again then there wife and kids would stop talking to them and they would be kicked out of the witnesses! this is a bad ideal!

The problem with JW's is that most of them whole heartedly believe that dogma, just as the People's Temple followed Jim Jones. These doctrines that they hold to are easily refuted, both secularly and biblically alike.

I suppose the 40 days that Jesus spent made Him a super-monk. I realize the fear that being alone with God and his words stirs in your heart without the mediator-ship of the GB but Jesus the real mediator will be there to help.

@FEINBACHRISING I can't help but to point out the irony in your statement Robin. If you really " believe the Scriptures speak for themselves" as you stated then you would not be a slave to the FDS. According to them you cannot understand the Bible without them which is in direct contradiction to what you said as well as your actions.
As far as "forsaking the gathering?" 30 days alone with God and His word is hardly forsaking... it is a very brief period. Respect the context my friend.

When you read the bible ALONE (yeah back to that sola scriptura thing QCR always talks about) you will come up with a religion that looks totally different from the WT. In fact the biblical writers of the NT would be DFed for writing what they did in the bible. The bible is not a Jehovah's Witnesses book it is a book for bible Christians!

This is a great challenge. The music is very distracting though. What you are saying is so important and the music sounds spooky.
Also, a JW would have trouble seeing the Deity of Christ in their New Testament. I always tell them to read a bible that has not been altered by the WT Bible and Tract Society.

I listened to Brian's video again, he never said not to go to KH. He said don't read any Watchtower literature for 30days.
Fact is: JWs never fellowship in KH with the Word of God alone. If any JW gave this challenge to all in KH congregation: lets stop reading WTS pubs, lets all fellowship by reading ONLY Bible for 30 days = JWs know they would be reprimanded for apostate thinking :-(

I agree with you 21crosscheck21 that the Bible should stand as God's word to guide Christians. The 30 day challenge should be spend 30 days to research and test whether or not the Organization is really a prophet for God, and if he is truly using them as his channel of communication. Because it will take more than 30 days for brain washing to clear just reading the bible. Because when you read it you recall what they taught. Just a week of research and I knew they were not!

They cannot meet this challenge. Russell forbade it saying that "to read the Bible without help (watchtower) will bring one into total darkness". Also they are warned against "apostate material" such as this video even.

Jesus is much much much bigger than you make him out to be. Peter had a huge view of Jesus or he wouldn't of written this in the context of knowledge. 2 Peter 3:18 "18 But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen." If Jesus was nothing more than a good man like you Jake then Peter wouldn't go out of his way in writing those words. In fact Jake, Peter in writing that should be DFed by the standards of the WTBTS

1. Pro18:1;16:28, these texts say nothing of personal private study of the Word of God the Bible; truth is God commands us to 2Ti2:15-16. READ Psa 1. Why walk in the counsel of the ungodly religious leaders and teachers and study Watchtower literature? God won't bless you for doing that.
2. You quote NWT Jude19, a diabolical mistranslation of the text. God said "these are they...having not THE SPIRIT."
3. Heb10:25 = Christians don't gather together with those AGAINST the faith!

@archeng123 Good day. The word "wild" does not appear in the book of Revelation. The word "beast / beasts" appears in numerous chapters in the book of Revelation. Please tell us what particular verse you are considering. Also, we want to emphasize that Paul's epistles are written directly to you and I today, and we should read THEM 1000 times :) Also, chapters 2 and 3 of Revelation are noteworthy to the Christian today. I read Robins comments as trying to STOP JW from reading Bible alone. He's very organized by his human rulers, loyally performing his sacred duty to his religious leaders and teachers. Robin knows if JW read Bible alone, God shall make them leave that man-made organization he loves.

Jws claim to have the "truth" which to them is an ever changing boondoggle of doctrine and an organization of earthly men in New York City when in reality the "Truth" IS Jesus. I'll stick with my Truth and my Savior Jesus and unlike Robin I have nothing to fear.

Brian, I've issued the same challenge to un-Christians here.... Empty yourselves of the false religious dogma and doctrine false Christianity has taught you and just read the Gospel accounts... While doing so, stop and record every instance of chapter and verse that makes reference to Jesus' station or position relative to his Father... and see where the preponderance of the evidence leads you... I have done this... Which has led me to the inescapable conclusion that Jesus is not God Almighty!

Do you ever wonder why it is that the only people who believe all of what the WT believes are JW's. Think about it. In 2000 years no one has ever looked at scripture alone and come to believe in all of the major doctrines that the WT teaches.

If anyone believed "all" the teachings of JW's, they'd be a JW's.
There are organizations that have come up with the same doctrines as JW's ... ever heard of "The Way International", their founder, Paul Weirwell wrote a book entitled, "Jesus Christ is not God"!
They also don't believe in a literal burning Hell fire....
There are many groups with some of the truths JW's have found... not all.

I do not lie cheat or steal, and I NEVER tolerate anyone that does; therefore I garbaged all teachings of JW religious rulers and just read the Word of God, my Bible. The truth: Son of God Christ the Lord ever co-existed from eternity within Holy Abba Father; as He said Jn16:27-28. The Word of God and His Apostles were very clear on this truth.

Within book of Revelation, God explains what the symbols pictures allegories numbers beasts ect means. Of all 27 NT books of Bible, the Revelation of Jesus Christ given to John, quotes OT law of Moses, the prophets and the Psalms the most. Criteria for interpretation is same as any NT book; knowing this first, it is "prophecy" 1:3, and chronology thereof is given in 1:19, with two Greek words "meta tauta" = "after these things" = 1:19; 4:1(x2); 7:1,9; 9:12; 15:5; 18:1; 19:1; 20:3.

One thing I would have liked for you to have included and I seldom see it discussed. Spend time alone with the bible and pray, Pray non ceasing. Pray while reading and ask for direction and guidance. Pray when not reading. Pray in the car on the way to work and on the way home. Ask God for answers.
