This arrangement is very special to me. I played the first trumpet part with my college brass ensemble at the commencement service for our graduation. It's a little nerve wracking when you have to hit the A above the staff. You're completely exposed there. The West Point Band is an elite Army ensemble. It's made up of NCOs. It's not a cadet band. The director of my college ensemble was himself a member of the band as a sergeant, and chose this arrangement for the service..
To Bishfan, a huge thank u, this was the first video is saw of Diane Bish and fell in love with her, then watched what seemed like millions of your videos, and then ordered her organ books from America to have a go.
Yeah!! Her hair always looks pretty; she has a sweet face and voice. She's so pretty and feminine!! I love the full episodes because I get to watch and listen to her talk besides hearing the music. When she's not on camera for a while, I start saying: "Get sweetie back on!!"
The Westminster Abby Choir, the tune is known as the old 100th for a reason. And that reason is, the words are the King James version of the 100th psalm.
I love this arrangement: the fanfares, the trumpet descant, John Dowland's fauxbourdon harmony, the lot! And for my taste, the tempo is just right; it's often played a lot slower than this.
too flash.
No good for a sincere church.

Williams composed this arrangement for the Queen's coronation in 1953, must have sounded as magnificant as this in Westminster Abbey! Well done Bish!

This totally missed the point. This is an arrangement of a congregational hymn.

Think of it as a modern Chorale Prelude.
