I'm Not Greek BUT Everytime I Watch An AKA Video On Youtube I Hear Different # Of Founders From Different Chapters; At CAU They Say 16 Fine Ladies Founded AKA & Howard They Say 20 Founders/Pearls & It's Confusing....; Do The AKA's Not Know How Many True Founders They Have???
There are 20 original founders of the sorority, but each chapter of the sorority across the country has a different number of founders that brought AKA to that particular campus.
Why don't you check out Int'l website. You'll note we have 16 founders & 20 pearls. Our pearls represent the 20 women who not only created our sisterhood but the addt'l 4 who ensured her perpetuity.

Umrubio, chill! AKA's/ALPHA's don't need to be constitutionally bound on paper to have a bond; that's not necessary. If we want to reference each other as brother/sister or first family, we can. Each BGLO had to choose a movie for their theme. And since AKA's have been gone from UM for so long, they chose the Pink Panther- a detective searching for the PHINEST pearl and b/c it has pink in the name. :)
