  • So now you think that the governement gets paid by our taxes? Wow tax money is just money for the government to blow on useless stuff like the stimulus package and this health care bill.

  • This is a race thing...Your not that blind..and we are not that stupid..It always been about race

  • it wasn't a close presidential race at all! the fact that you dont realize this makes your talking point mute. obama won by a landslide and rightfully so. either come with facts or shut up. sick of you po dunk red necks speaking up and scaring people dumber than yourself. jesus christ save us from your followers who preech your name with hate in their heart

  • Well there you go pinjinge I couldn't have said it better myself. SO if folks don't have the desire then why is my responsibility once they finally get motivated to care e.g. when their DESIRE aligns with their need. TOO LATE IN MY OPINION you are either part of the SOLUTION e.g. work for everything and take nothing for granted, no one owes you anything and yes you are responsible for yourself and every child you bring into this world! I DESIRE to take care of mine.

  • now listen my friend ........... all of these people in brodcast & government.. 1 in the same. too simply keep you confused.. first, add up every dollar you get , and every dollar you spent in 1 year, now the factor of tax percent is about 47%. lets said average earn 39,000.00 per year. so take $ 19,000.00 times 250,000.000 per year thats $4750000000000.00 the governments every year , not including money from other countries.

  • you are a misinformed person. please educate yourself with the facts. you have been manipulated by insurance company lobbyists and FOX news.

  • Your ridiculous, that was a straight forward question. Before spouting off

like the typical Fox Cop you are, how about

educating him yourself if he is so wrong? It was a legitimate question, no doubt.

  • Great video

  • I don't need no police, firemen, or phoney doctors, I can take care myself in Yonker. My Daddy tough me how to hunt. Give me liberty or give me death. Don't give me health care I don't need it.

  • So you're comparing actual jobs with the governments responsiblilities? It's the every day duty for policemen and firemen to do what they do because they get payed for it. They're a difference in doing something for a job and getting paid, and doing something for free because people can't afford it themselves.

  • It's doing a lot more than regulating insurance. They want to set up an exchange system which will ultimately kill of free-market insurance companies that won't be able to compete with the government rates. That will ultimately create one socialized plan of care with standardized codes where your illness and treatment will be determined by gov't bureaucrats. You won't have options if the government run system says no. Just ask women in the UK who can't get new meds to combat breast cancer.

  • There isn't a public option, so in the exchange there are only private insurances to compete with eachother. Very Bad Idea.

  • Or on the flip side ask the women who can't afford the meds! & slowly die. They can't get insurance because of pre-exisiting. This is why there's an optional insurance when U turn 65. Damn if U do, Damn if U don't but U can sure call a policeman when U need help or a fireman to stop a fire. U do pay the taxes but they don't send U a bill for the amount of water used or hours spent or criminal containment charge. I don't go to ER for that reason heck I stitched myself up cos I can't afford it.

  • @pinjinge According to the wise Sarah Palin, dinosaurs existed only 4,000 years ago.

  • FREE MARKET AND NO CONSUMER PROTECTION IS BETTER. I don't need no FDA telling me that beef is GREEN and I can't eat. I don't need FDA to tell that my diabetic drug is not working. My body will telling. Back to Yonker.

  • Constitutional Republic!

    Look it up.

  • I don't think the last presidential race was that close. If I remember right it was a blow out because Americans are tired of Republican lies. I'm proud to say I voted for Obama and I believe he's doing a good job, despite the fact that Republicans are throwing a wrench into his presidency. And if you're a Republican sir...you should be ashamed of yourself!

  • Oh ya speaking of lies hows Obama doing on all of the promises he made? So apparently spending more money is going to help our national debt what a great concept. I think you should be ashamed.

  • It wasn't a blow out. Based on population is was only a couple million between McCain and Obama.

  • wooddrow79, you are an idiot my friend

  • Why exactly am I an idiot!?!? Because I know how I feel..You ever had someone not want to work with you because of how you look or Not want you invite you into there home because of your appearence..Or to not be trusted because people are afraid of you simply because you dont look like them!?!?! If you have experienced even 1 of those things you would already know what is becoming increasingly evidend to everyone..They never planed to work with Obama..Be honest with urself bro..life too short

  • Happy Black History Month!

  • I like how people completly ignore the fact that America has checks and balances..and completly ignore the fact that the Republicans have voted NO on everything from the second that darky walked in the door..Then the have the ignorance to say with a straight face..that he has done nothing since getting in office!?!?! WoW!! U THINK??? He has done 1 thing tho..He exposed the real reason the republicains dont want to play ball.and only a few of you seem to be miss the reason..white america..so sad!

  • The second who walked in the door? Did you say what I thought you said. If you did what year are you livving in 1935. Forgive me if I read wrong because if I did not shame on on you.

  • My apologies But that was read correctly..and it was meant to be offensive ..thats exactly how they make me feel every time ppl defend the way Republican are acting..it about is skin color and their fear..they showed it when he ran for office and they have continued to show it in Obama 1st year in office and Im tired of ppl pretending its complex when it is simply the same ignorance 1935 - 2010 Mentality is still the same sadly:(

  • The Government runs the Military health care..I would know! I cant understand why it s OK to pour Billions into War and destroying lives but when it comes to the people and saving lives $ is a question..It's something wrong with that type of thinking in my opinion..

  • All first world countries (and I still consider the U.S. to be 1st world) have universal health care for their citizens. America will not begin to compete economically in the world until our business are free from the burden of insurance for their employees and our fellow Americans are free from the fear of an illness driving them into bankruptcy.

  • What makes country free is limited Government. You are telling us that having this party take over 17% of the U.S. economy is going to give us more freedom. What makes an individual have more freedom more regulation or less regulation? Please elaborate?

  • More regulation is needed in certain areas -- Obama made a great point about making sure the food you eat is tested properly. If there was no regulation on the meat you eat, you'd probably be dead years ago. Health care should be universal, single payer, so everyone can get high quality care and not have to be at the mercy of for profit insurance companies standing between you and your doctor. People should be free to get the medical care they need without fear of going into bankruptcy.

  • What made our country great was that we lead the world with our ideas, our compassion and our innovation. What is destroying our country is a large number of us (you included?) accepting that a small group of the rich, many of them not American can off-shore our jobs, expatriate their profits; while now legally, (thanks to SCOTUS) influence our body politic with unlimited contributions to their party, politician or PAC. You are free to hate who they tell you to and to vote as instructed.

  • @Coklan @Coklan This IS the first step to socialism, which leads to communism...

And what is this about we are the last to help anyone?? I will bet you christans give wayy more than your liberal communists/socialists bumms in california...

  • @sdliger I would ask if you are a Christian, but on second thought I dont care. It's really not my business.

  • @sdliger Wow. What can I say. Your logic is pure and your thoughts and concepts well researched and well defined. Can I join your club?

  • Ask yourself, what caused america enter to economical downfall in the first place? and was it or was it not the safety net of government that stepped in, when capitalism failed?

  • Yes, capitalism failed. Why? The repeal of the GlassSteagall Act, NAFTA, the exchange of our America-centric trade policy for a shrill GOP mantra that to defend our markets with tariffs would be protectionism I would ask you to think just how deep this depression would be had it not been for the meager safety net left in place. I would also request that when you use the word made to describe our great nation that you start by using a capital letter, it is spelled "America."

  • @Coklan What do u want, comunism??? Wow!!! That works great!!! Everyone is poor!!! Ha!! Thats a total joke...

  • No you can have a balance of some sorts on certain levels, I mean we have laws to protect us, whether simple or not. People are held accountable for actions which should include health insurance companies. The stuff they are doing is criminal I mean down right murder yet there is no laws in place to stop it or protect the patients other then go after the doctors and hospitals. This is your life, your right to fair treatment and equality thats our United States Constitution.

  • I was about to answer your question, then I see you've answered it for me and had an amusing conversation with yourself. Why do Christians seem to be the first to judge others and the last to want to help anybody? If you, as you profess on your page are a Christian, ask yourself, what chance does a capitalist have to get into heaven? If you cant recall the answer, check your favorite book under Matthew 19:23-24 or Mark 10:24-25 or Luke 18:24-25. What would Jesus do?

  • @Coklan wow... sorry i coundt figure out how to repond to ure other post... this new utube is confusing...

You may be right... However, What place does communism have in heaven?? What place does marx have in heaven... I will answer this for you... NONE, Marx was a confirmed atheist... look at most of the communist... They are mostly atheist! I know that people that deny that there is a god have NO place in heaven...

  • @sdliger You know no such thing, you profess a faith, faith by definition defies objective proof and thus you hope that you are right but you cannot honestly say that you know the unknowable and thats just fine. Faith offers a warm and fuzzy feeling and thats nice Call me crazy but the story of Jesus was one of a man that fed, healed and ultimately died for his fellow man, sounds like a socialist to me. I dont recall him speaking on the virtues of capitalism, you?

  • Wow - Where to start?

First of all - President Obama has gone back on several of his campaign promises (Govt Spying/Clean Coal/Offshore Drilling/Gun Control/Dont Ask Dont Tell) so it's not like the guy cares about his campaign promises....

Secondly - WHAT DO YOU THINK MEDICARE AND MEDICAIDE IS? Its government run healthcare you idiot... And to the d-bags that scream 'Im tired of paying for others' - Guess what - I dont have kids but Im paying for your retard spawn to go to school...

  • @ tmdpc..How about we tackle 1 issue at a time this year..Healthcare seems to be the most important and closest to being accomplished..Lets stay focused ..I swear we act like a bunch of ADHD kids hyped up on candy and soft drinks..smh

  • We are hyped up on candy and soft drinks. That's why we're so f'ing suck and in need of health care. The only thing that came out of the Republican side that I agree with was when Tom Coburn said we need to focus on healthy school lunches. Fair enough. But for the overweight and out of work Limbots out there screaming against health care reform: don't come crying to the rest of us when you have a Cheneytack and end up needing a quadruple bypass.

  • It isn't government that is going to pay for that. The regulator on the DC side of the computer will pull the plug.....or make you wait a year...to see if they can get you to die off.

Ask the Canadians. They come here every day.

  • @USAheartland Cuz we have the better doctors you fucking retard. There are doctors all over the world specializing in different fields. The best doctors in their fields don't have to be located in the U.S. Thats why people leave their countries for the aid of other doctors.

  • Of course we have better doctors, and a better time schedule to access them.

When national socialized medicine is passed, we'll be having to buy airplane tickets to go to somewhere ourselves.

  • It's not a matter of one doctor here vs one specialist there. When you take the millions of patients on a global scale for life threatening illnesses, and look at the survival statistics, your best chances lie with treatment in the US. That is a statistical fact. That's because a free market society driven by competition will always be better than a government run bureaucracy that provides no real initiative for growth. Have you ever visited a post office, DOT, or other govt run facility?

  • look , please stop being dumb... they are lying to you . just imagine how much money you spend in taxes every year every dollar spent and earn on everything !then times that by 200 million.. every year..

  • America's problem lies within the spending of the tax money..the fear of communists and terrorists since the early 1920's, and mobilization in fucking ronald regan star wars that has caused the mentality in the us, that tax money aint worth shit. plz tell me how american citizens have benefitted from this? compared to for instance government founded health care with no insurance fraud shit.

  • You want to live in a socialist country....there are plenty of them outside our borders. Take your pick.

  • Ya please do so. If you want reformed health care go live in Canada because they have the type of health care that Obama is trying to pass and we all see how Canada's health care works. America has numerous Canadian's each year that come to America because their health care sucks and they have to wait months or years to get treated.

  • Alton, it was NOT a close election. He won by 9 million votes! And as for your question, what do you think? If you think that the man is doing this for political reasons, you must be off your rocker. He is taking a BEATING for this. And anyone with any knowledge of history and tough legislative battles like Civil Rights and Medicare knows that old white conservative men feign concern for "future generations" while their actions are clearly motivated by their own fear of change

  • People are dying across the nation because they can't afford health coverage. And the insurance companies don't care. And neither do the Republicans. Their "solutions" are not solutions at all. Just little drops in the giant bucket that is the health care debacle. It will take a massive sea change to enact true shifts in this broken system. Tort reform is nothing, and frankly Senator Durbin was right: What about the lawsuits that ARE warranted? For botched surgeries?? Patients' have rights!

  • If given the choice between saving a few billion on tort reform while NOT enacting true limits and measures on these runaway insurance costs and helping to provide coverage for 30 million uninsured VS. actually biting the bullet and realizing that we are the wealthiest nation on earth and it's shameful that there are millions suffering without real coverage they can afford. I'll bite the bullet now.

  • Comment removed

  • It's not about patients rights. Patients have the right to health care but the governement shouldn't be there to pay for everything for them.

  • I'd say less than 5% of people could afford the health care costs if it wasn't for "insurance". So if you can truly afford health care, pay for it yourself and don't get any insurance. Leaving health care payments to for profit insurance companies is what caused this disaster in the first place. They make money by denying care to people. Even if people do have insurance, it is tough for many to pay. It's time to change that with socialized healthcare.

  • Umm ya they don't deny health care to anyone...that's against the law. If you go into a hospital they won't refuse service.

  • Nope but they can certainly foreclose on your house even "if" your insurance (the one "you paid" all these years for coverage) comes up with an excuse to not pay a major life situation accident, saying something stupid like it's your company's fault and they should pay or the other driver's fault and then lose out as you fight the courts while the hospital forces a sale and takes your house away. It does happen! Back in the 1890s a fire dept would ask you money before put out a fire.

  • @JamesR1969 very well said sir!

  • Dude, you are so stupid. You don't even know how to speak English, no wonder you are from Texas - where all the dumb people live including George W. Bush and his entire family.

  • Wow you are so intelligent. Just another uninformed northerner making yourself look like an idiot.

  • stop acti nlike u dont know were shit headin

  • EVERYONE agrees that the health care system is broken and needed REFORM!

(except for a few fringe elements who likes the STATUS QUO in the woods or islands somewhere )

Why not addressing the issue instead of the person?

  • Excellent video; 5 stars!

  • "The future and health of our citizens and nation as a whole are larger than any one person"

WoW! what are you fighting for?? a healthcare system that exclude 50 million of your citizen and make it unaffordable to other while making trillions for insurance companies??

You should be more considerate of what's going on than making it just a personal issue for the president

Its also commendable to deliver for the voters, not a bad thing as you thought

  • Health Care as with opportunity are everyone's personal responsibility. I am fed up with providing for those who will not provide for themselves and take no responsibility for their achievements or lack of achievements in life. On the other hand I am all for help those who are unable e.g. disabled people not well capable who are lazy.

  • Health care is everyone's personal responsibility? I don't believe that. Health care is a right. Lack of achievements in life is one thing, but standing by while people die because of lack of healthcare, seeing people have to claim bankruptcy because of hospital bills, is another. You won't realize this until the shoe is on the other foot.

  • Exactly!! People don't see it unless it happens to them & then they change their tune. I don't have any major bills but know of family that do, especially the unexpected. My cousin was in a car accident & even though car insurace covers some medical he was in the ICU for months his family ended up losing their house! He couldn't afford the high premin because of his diabetic wife. Both hard workers & he went to college. I can see this happening to my family and discovering cancer. Happens

  • NO one is ever turned away from a hospital, it is against the law to do so. So the argument must now be whether they are responsible for the bill for their coverage. The argument isn't whether HEALTH CARE is available and provided because it is decided by the question is should the individual be responsible to pay the bill. So this is not a a HEALTH CARE debate it is a HEALTH BILL PAYMENT debate!

  • Yes and no, If you go to emergency they will stabilize you. Now if they found out that you have cancer, don't expect a free dose of chemotherapy or an surgical removal of your tumor. You can go home and die in your own bed.

  • Exactly you hit the nail on the head here! Why do people don't see the seriousness of this?! It can happen to anyone! Even if you had insurance for years, those calms dept personal will find something that you forgot to add in your application history, like a pulled tooth in sixth grade & then denied/ drop you because you lied on your application. Or you child because he/she was born with a hernia which they called pre-existing even though its not related. It has happen, wake up people!!

  • silverpurka

    agree ....

    -

"The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness." .. -John Kenneth Galbraith

  • While I support your statement there's more than meets the eye. What about those who had a string of bad luck like a company unexpectedly folded up & despite all the hard work looking for another job can't find one, lose their insurance, their house & are out on the street. Then you come along see this capable person who is asking for help on the street and you judge them instead of helping them. Wouldn't you want the support yourself especially if you done everything you could for yourself?

  • It was a close election? Hmmmm.

  • it was close - only a few percentage points of the popular vote
