  • -seeing a snail geting eaten by a hawk- "You konw for kids!" -NC quote

  • them some loud fuckin snails

  • Also I'm happy some people even remember this movie, I saw the PE movie when I was a kid. Got lucky enough to catch it on showtime beyond when it was still showing good movies.

  • @Wicketia Human Centipede isn't even an American movie.

  • That was one F****D up bird!

  • Mariko is the name of Aya's mother

  • For those who don't know this is the backstory to the first game of the parasite eve series, The woman who died in the car crash, her cells became Eve. hope that clears it up

  • You know, they were going to make Parasite Eve a movie in America. Madonna was supposed to star as Aya... thank god that didn't pan out. I like Madonna as a singer but I don't think she'd be a great actress. Especially for someone like Aya.

  • I was expecting a policewoman and an opera singer, lol

  • the birds flying in the beggining are creepy

  • @htiberian SHIT JUST GOT REAL NIGGA

  • whos the author of the book

  • @JoeyFreakRox book is from hedeaki sena

  • i dont think half the things that they were talking about cells were real lol

  • @kroxas123 lol the snail horn thing is real but not because of what she said

  • japan, the country that possibly can become the world power after china

  • @kroxas123 if there is still a world at least

  • @kroxas123 doubtful now

  • @kroxas123 not from what i saw.

  • i like how the fat kid was demented enough to stand there and watch the snail get owned

  • why is it japanese 80s movies are better than americas 2000s movies

  • @Mrnasty37 you mean 90's right...? this was made in 1996. Also not true, Hollywood make some good movies. I'm not American so thats what I think.

  • @Mrnasty37 yea i seen that after i watched the movie my bad

  • @Mrnasty37 u thonk this crap is good<_<?

You gotta be a massive japanophile to call this movie good.

  • See... I like this kind of movie because they actually inject real science. Of course it's a science fiction and weird elements come in later but the fact that the base for the fiction is real science makes me very happy. Also poor snail. It never stood a chance.

  • @RexTyrannosaurus what do u call jurassic park smart one?

  • @Ameer18 I'm not really sure what you're getting at... JP was a science fiction with weird elements but it also had some blatantly wrong parts to it... Still a movie I like, though. Also, it kind of takes away from your sarcastic insult of calling me "smart one" when your comment has no grammar in it what so ever. Oh, and the chat speak and lack of a capital letter.

  • @RexTyrannosaurus this is not a good movie. This is nothing like the book which actually was good. And japanese sci fi has some of the most b grade special effects i have ever seen. As for you attacks on my writing english is not my native language and i would doupt very much u could do better in my own.

  • @Ameer18 I don't claim to be able to, it's mostly your use of "u" instead of "you". As for special effects, this is an older movie and American spec effects are really no better. Yes, it's VERY different form the book. So is Jurassic Park. In many aspects they are almost totally different entities and, as such, I view them differently. I didn't say that this was the best movie ever, but it certainly has aspects that I greatly enjoy. I do consider it separate from the book.

  • Why does the music scream Spirited Away at me in the beginning o.o Wish it'd stop so I can watch the Mitochrondria go ape shit :D

  • Well, I just finished the book (which was pretty good, albeit a bit slow and technical in the beginning; I view as the "Alien" while the game is "Aliens"). Let's see how the movie holds up.

  • wow Thanks for uploading the movie!! :D

  • SCCRREEEECH! SCRREEECH! SCRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEECH! SCREEEEEECH! SCREEECH! SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEECH! SCREECH! SCREEECH! SCCRREEEECH! SCRREEECH! SCRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEECH! SCREEEEEECH! SCREEECH! SCCRREEEECH! SCRREEECH! SCRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEECH! SCREEEEEECH! SCREEECH! SCCRREEEECH! SCRREEECH! SCRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEECH! SCREEEEEECH! SCREEECH! SCCRREEEECH! SCRREEECH! SCRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEECH! SCREEEEEECH! SCREEECH!

  • is that a banshee in the background during the "outdoor

    science lesson"

  • haha i was born in 1996 :D

  • What, no subtitles for the intro words? What does it say in the beginning?

  • @VoltOptConstruct I think those were the cast and production names

  • this is a P.E. movie. for a Physical Education class!! lololol... I could imagine watching one of these on a P.E. class! so educational with the mitochondria and all...

  • hey remember back in 98 when madonna was attached to star produce a PE movie. LOL... that would have sucked cock.

  • @spokenout24 I remember back in the day thinking Christina Aguilera would've made an appropriate Aya Brea in terms of looks (though I'm sure her acting skills are pure shit).

  • @mobius1aic Yeah she sucks at acting. LOL but she is hot and a good singer. She wasn't half bad in burlegeuse. Or however you spell that movie.

  • i saw this movie ages ago! it was crap! i'm still waiting on a Hollywood version! but i'll prob be waiting for the rest of my life for that! by the time they get around to making it!

  • @Bill4393 let's hope it's japan that remakes it. Japan and other asian countries focus on psychological horror. imo they've improved a lot in that department. Hollywood's the opposite. Made epic horrors like the excorsist and now makes crap movies like human centipede. They focus too much on shock images and sexy, unecessary sequences. omg if they had a japanese director, british writer and american everything else it'll be so epic DD:

  • Maeda refers to the movie/book in the first game. the movie/book is part of the story of the games!

  • the music is similar to Parasite Eve ( Aya Brea)

  • @MSAnemanja2 that's how amazing Yoko Shimomura(Composer) is right?

  • @terminuszero i never heard of her before Paraiste eve she's a newbie

  • @MSAnemanja2 xD she's the composer on the soundtrack for Parasite Eve game on PS1. but i haven't checked out if she also worked on the movie.

  • where's subtitles?

  • thanks a lot for the spoilers, assholes..

  • THANK YOU FOR UPLOADING THIS!

  • ...Okay, who lol'd when that bird fucking ate the snail?

  • oh damn! i didnt know they made a movie of this.

I've seen the game...i should read the book :0

  • @Niimurasama is there a translation of the book on the market?

  • @AVampiricShade I'm not sure D:

  • @AVampiricShade yeah look it up on amazon

  • thank god the game is nothing like this movie. i know the book and movie are prequel to the game but goddamn the movie is fucking boooooringg. if i payed money for this movie at a theater, i would've walked out in 15 min.

  • Let me remind you all as to read the book first and then play the playstation game, then its sequel then, the third and have yourself a good day SIR!

  • Oh shit!!! that snail part had me rotflmfao!!!!!

  • That is the most dramatic Zombie Snail scene I have ever seen. DAMN YOU FLUKES!!

  • DRAMATIC SNAIL :O

  • The intro music is quite similar to the game! I remember that the events of this movie(or the novel) was ever mentioned in the game.

  • OK lets clear something up people this movie is based off a book called Parasite Eve, the BOOK inspired the GAME, the film came out a year before the game, it actually came out 1997 not 1996

  • And now we have "The 3rd Birthday". A spin-off of the game, that is a "sequel" to the movie that was inspired by the novel xD

  • A MOVIE of that game....???? Thx infinitly for uploading... I know what to do this evening...!!

  • @Barbabapan well, the game is based off a novel, with this movie is based off of, which the game started to be a sequel to.. in a sense.

  • 字幕が邪魔だw

  • LMAO AT BIRD SCENE.

  • it'll be of use to you when your whole family turns into giant fucking mutants

  • Im learning more from the game and this movie then I ever did in biology XD

  • @ZombieGirl345 same here, isn't it funny that we learn things easier from a video game, than we do in biology, hasn't anybody notice that?

  • @exaflare I learned about sex from movies :D aha

  • @ZombieGirl345 Well isn't that something :0

  • @exaflare

Ya, because most of are interested in games, that is why we enjoy learning from it or getting to know more about it.

  • just to let you guys know, Parasite Eve originated from a novel.

  • is that mariko the one mentioned in the game as aya's mother? great story. gotta watch this to fully understand the game.

  • is that true about mitochondria?? they have their own genes and are like separate organisms actually?

  • @PingGuerrero its true. everything in this part of movie taught by the lecturer is true biology.

  • @Tarenaccount hell yeah!!!

  • So this movie is the story what happened in Japan before the game?

  • @themalachijethro yes, this is the incident that Maeda keeps talking about

  • I know we're all huge fans of the game, but please keep in mind it was first a book, then a movie, then Square decided to make a game. This movie doesn't "lose the story." However, remember when Maeda mentioned in the first game about a previous incident? Take the details of that and compare them to the movie. Not sure, but I thought those two references went together.

  • @Caliburnus300 FINALLY! Someone got it right.:) I saw this on hbo a long time ago, which led me to the pursuit of the book. But the game is still one my favorite classics. Peace!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Caliburnus300 Actualy the movie is like a Parasite Eve Zero almost since it comes before the first game and is mentioned in the first game as you said. On a side note I plan to make movies based on the first and second Parasite Eve games.

  • @Caliburnus300 In the reality of the story in total the first PS1 game is really the sequel to the movie/novel,the details Maeda refers are of the book/movie,also the little girl with the kidney transplant is actually AYA BREA's Mother,u can read the report in the first game at the clinic I think,Aya is half Japanese her mother's name is MARIKO & her married surname is BREA.Hence Aya's sister had the dormant Eve Mitochondria from her Mother, only the years are different in the movie version.

  • @Caliburnus300 Yeah the game is actually base off the squeal of this movie.

  • @Caliburnus300 sure do

  • wow i just found this by chance o.o! didn't know they made movie of this awesome game ! WOOO

  • XD I learned this all in biology class this year

  • i have problems with this movie....first of all is the beginning....in the video game your name is aya brea and your on your way to the opera house....when suddenly a woman on stage starts singing...but her voice causes everything to start on fire....and your mission begins....secondly is where the movie is...in this movie they are in Japan...in the video game they are in new york....besides these small problems they are very good at explaining the main idea of WHY the parasites are so...strange

  • @Tarenaccount its awesome but its only for the play station one

  • This was novel before it was turned into a game or the film. If you must know. It was the inspiration.

Haha They made the death of the snail look gruesome where in fact the bird would've just snagged it and flew away. Psycho bird lol

  • So this was the incident in Japan Maeda was talking about in the video game Parasite Eve 1.

  • I used to have this movie when it first came out but it got lost somewhere. I have to order it again. I miss it.........but thanks for the upload.

  • Hi, I wanted to ask for sth., the time i was watching this movie on youtube i also have found a japanese (probably) movie about young girl who is a painter and starts school with other young artists (i remember one who sculptured an eagle or sth) and i have no idea what title it has:(((( I wanted to recommend it to sb but cant:/

Can anyone help me with the title PLEASE?

  • That snail got FUCKED UP!

  • in the past that i was playing this game and i am surprised that this game is became a movie and a manga wow this is so cool

  • im surprised nobody transformed into a mutant in this movie

  • Awesome, I never knew there's a movie for this. Thank you for sharing!

  • Dope. Before the videogames took over. Teehee.

  • diantres esto es una verdadera chingonada esta pelicula esta con madre

  • Never knew there was a book. Think I could find it in english somewhere?

  • @westside619

Yeah, the book has been translated into english.

You can probably find it at common bookstores, like Barnes & Nobles, but you may have to buy it online.

I got mine from there last month.

    It's pretty good. :D

  • Played the games but never read the book. Might as well watch the movie then.

  • wow!!! I was looking for this movie, thankyou

  • 音楽が久石さんだーー!!

  • ゲームとはべつものだよねーやっぱ。

  • love the book and the movie

  • What was the book like?

I only every played the game.

Are there Creatures mutated by the Mitochondria..?

  • No, there are not creatures in the book like in the game. The movie is based pretty heavily on the book, so if you watch all of these, you'll have some idea of what it's like, but I highly suggest actually reading it.

As they say, the book's always better than the movie. Major case in point: Ring. Forget the scary ghost story movies and enjoy a trilogy of metaphysical brilliance in Ring, Spiral, and Loop.

  • Well, My mom just bought me the book, I'm at the point right after Mariko gets the Transplant.

  • i was in my 2nd year ,that was 98.i guess,i played this game 10 times in five straight days...when my aunt bought a ps1

  • Thanks for upload of movie =D, I was looking for it and I couldn´t watch the movie before, I liked the game, for me Parasite eve is the best game of all the years in play station ^_^, The movie isn´t the same with the game but something is good, I hope in the future some people will make a great movie like matrix or other with good effects ^^.

  • The movie is based off the book, which is a prequel to the video game series.

  • BASTARD! HOW COULD HE!? 9:03

  • wow they made a movie for it! parasite eve was one of the most amazing games I ever played, final fantasy metal gear and parasite eve were my favs back then, the good ol' days.

  • Actually the movie came first - my impressions are that the book that they're inspired by was both somber and creepy, and the movie went with somber over creepy, while the game went with creepy over somber. True, the movie is a direct adaptation of the book supposedly, while the game is actually a sequel - so this movie could be, in a sense, thought of as what Maeda was referring to.

  • no it was actually the book that was done first

  • Very true

  • yea..

back den, solid snake and cloud were the guys' role models while aya, tifa and the other girls were the girls'

  • well this was actually made after the book was released that the parasite eve games are based off

  • @aARIESsSs Actually, They made a movie for the book "Parasite Eve" which was later made into a video game. I just finished reading the book. So much better than the movie. Go read it :D

  • @DBSabata

I know Im replying to a very old post but I really want to know the anwser from someone who have read the book. Does the novel has any crucial important plot twists that explain something the game or the movie omited?

  • @DzonatanGavert

I've read the book, the story is pretty different from the movie and the game,

they cut out alot of grotesque scenes on the movie

  • @killerpanda2793

Any crucial plot devices cut off as well?

  • @DzonatanGavert

yeah, the novel shows Mariko traumatized by the failure of first attempt of the kidney transplant, and refuse the operation, but her father pursued her. second, Parasite Eve succeeds on making Mariko give birth to Mitochondria Eve, but Mitochondria dies due to Parasite Eve's miscalculation that mitochondria only transfer their DNA from the mother, making the Mitochondria Eve imperfect.

Third, the ending is quite similar, except Toshiaki dies hugging the Mitochondria Eve.

  • @killerpanda2793

    you mean ultimate being right?

  • @DzonatanGavert

yeah, i think that was it, sorry, i read the book when it came out,,that was like a decade ago :P

  • @killerpanda2793

no probs... I feel like downloading it and reading right now.

  • @aARIESsSs Actually, the game was made for the movie, which was made for a book. There's not a whole lot of similarity between any of those and the games, though.

  • @aARIESsSs The game was based on the movie which was based on the book.

  • @aARIESsSs actualy, the movie was out before the game.

    anyways, tyvm for uploadin

  • @aARIESsSs It's not based on the game, though. In fact, this came out before the game, and it's based on the NOVEL that the game is actually a sequel for.

  • @HarpoTheVillain I can only imagine most people played the game first since it was another JRPG released by Square with Nomura as the character designer and we all know how all the otakus want to play his games (not to mention print is slowly becoming dead).

  • @HarpoTheVillain thank God someone actually said that. so many people think that the game is based on the movie but in the game on day 2, the scientist basically proved that the game was a sequal because the scientist is actually one of the scientists that survived in the movie that was based on the novel

  • @HarpoTheVillain correct: Aya Brea are not in Japan :)

  • @aARIESsSs You son of a bitch.

  • @aARIESsSs The movie is based on the book, both of which predate the video game which is also based on the book. This movie is not based off the video game.

  • @AxletheBeast omg thank you I'm glad someone else knows this!

  • @XKrimsonRavenX Haha! ^_^

Well it's a bit understandable. PE was a pretty obscure series to begin with, so when you get into the book and movie it's even more so. -_-

  • @AxletheBeast The book is by far one of my favourites. I love japanese horror sci fi novels. they for sure do it best

  • @aARIESsSs Actually its based on a book, the book inspired the movie

  • @aARIESsSs *game

  • @aARIESsSs Actually, the games are "sequels" to the movie.

  • @aARIESsSs appearently, the movie came out before the game

  • @aARIESsSs Actually it first started out as a novel in Japan, then it was made into a movie. Some time after that the game was made.

  • @aARIESsSs the movie came out before the game

  • i didnt realize that there was a movie of parasite eve.... well the game really is great we can compare it to resident evil but here evil fights evil XD

  • Any other place I can dl this besides torrents? I don't think there are many seeds for this. Shall start watching now. Thank you for sharing.

  • Waaah? I didnt know there was a Parasite Eve movie, awesome I'm watching this :)

  • YOU SHIT ME!?

  • I wrote the screenplay for the 'unofficial screenplay' to this film back in February 2007. It is based on the 1998 video game and Hideaki Sena's novel. If anyone here want to read it, PM me...

  • was this screenplay for a sequel to this movie? and will it be a western or eastern film? I have read a script that a guy wrote not too long ago and am curious

  • Hopefully it will be a Western film. My screenplay is first set in 1977 when Mariko was 30 and Maya was 12. Aya was 5 when her mother and elder sister died in a car accident on Christmas Eve. The story will then progress to 1997, where Aya is 25 and an NYPD detective...

  • wow would you mind if I read the thing you wrote? I would very much like to read it if you don't mind that is

  • It's not a parasitic relationship. It's a symbiotic relationship between the mitochondria and the rest of the cell.

Well, crap. THAT's why it's called Parasite Eve? There goes the name.

  • Both games on Playstation were awesomely good, and that is why I'm watching this and reading the book

  • isthe book good?

  • whered you find the book i cant find it in english. I want to read it very badly

  • Hahaha I thought those sound effects were coming from the snails...then the bird came in and I was like "HOLY FUCKIN' SHIT THAT SNAIL GOT OWNED!"

  • Comment removed

  • 9:03 sooooooooooooooo fakeeeeeeee

  • Immer wieder genial anzusehen.

Erschreckend...

  • Now this is what I call education

  • Maeda appers??

  • Don't worry about the mitochondrial, worry about what your fellow man seeks to acheive with virus'es --swine flu etc...and forced injections.
