  • @petergriffin422 You check on your radar's what the other vessels around you are doing. Checking your position, so you don't collide with an island.

And some other stuff, like weather observation's, keeping contact with the shore company etc.

  • This is one of the most amazing, eye-opening vids I've seen on YouTube. Thanks so much! This has to be the closest anyone can come in today's world to the space travel we'll be doing in 100-200-300 years.

  • Hey, may I ask a question - I've not been on a big sea before, i've been offered a space on a container ship in October from Pusan to Long Beach - is the pacific likely to be rough at that time of year and do cargo ships usually feel stable?

  • Wow!!! I'm in a nautical college at the moment, but I'm in my first year and I can't wait, I CAN'T WAIT!!! haha

  • How did you get your position on the ship? What sort of degree or schooling is required? Looks like you had a blast!

  • @meinzyman I went to a nautical college and had to do an internship on board.. After I'm finished with my education I can become an engineer as well as an officer on the bridge.. I had a great time on board, seen a lot of the world!

  • @WNontour I live in Belgium, it's my dream to, going to the nautical college at Vlissingen. I'm in high school now, but I'm already looking out for my stage in Vlissingen!

  • @WNontour how u can become engineer aft finished nautical

  • @prasat1000 The training at school covers both nautical and technical.

  • @WNontour So your a deck officer and an engineer? thats impossible

  • @AtomicCheese92 , it's possible and it's called a Maritime Officer. It's used in holland for over 25 years now.

  • @AtomicCheese92 true..it is one oor other..

  • How long time do you spend in each port? Do you have time to see the cities every time?

  • @anotherelvis A container ship normally stays between 12 and 24 hours in port. When you're not on duty you can go ashore most of the time.. I was onboard as a cadet so I could go ashore in most of the ports.

  • @WNontour jea they give you this so you wont run away....whait when you sign contract with them, then you will see your freedom..in bollocs....
