Philosophers usually mean time by 4th dimention (which is what you are reffering to), as a mathematician I would disagree with that because time is nothing like the 3 dimentions we allready know, I mean an extra demention of space that we cannot percieve as we move in 3d space. 4d in this case refers to an extra level of depth (same as my definition) with the word depth meaning sophistication appose to spacial
