  • Sarah, Harry & Dr#4: the best TARDIS trio in WHO history.

Really like ROBOT a lot; granted it's not a WHO masterpiece like PYRAMIDS OF MARS. But ROBOT has a wonderful Pertwee charm as it brings in the Tom Baker era. So good to see the classic Pertwee UNIT team in top form here. This would be their only appearance in Season 12. One final appearance in TERROR OF THE ZYGONS, the 1st story of Season 13, and the Pertwee-era UNIT team of Brig, Benton & Co. would sadly fade into WHO history.

  • Alot? Alot? What are you doing talking about alots? This is Doctor Who, not Hyperbole and a Half!

  • 6:12 the doctor look at himself in the mirror, AAAAAAAAAHHHHH, LOL

  • This video was brimming with so much awesomeness, my computer couldn't handle it.

    it buffered every 10 seconds

  • Sarah Jane Smith is one of my favorite companions, but I still love Romana II better. Sarah is a close runner up, however.

  • Sarah Jane was the definitive companion, smart, pretty, and confident :-) RIP Liz sladen. You've earned it.

  • @HumanistMercenary4 Sarah Jane, hands down is the best companion in WHO history, You can pick another companion here and there, who was better in this area or that, but Sarah Jane is the only companion who was successful across the board in ALL areas.

Elisabeth Sladen was the only cast member to appear in ALL episodes of PLANET O/T Spiders and ROBOT. THAT's how important she was to the Pertwee / Baker transition, and to the continued success of WHO at that critical time in WHO history!

  • @glnelson1956 I agree with you entirely on all points :-)

  • this is much better than the new series. new series sux

  • I like that this opens with the Brigadier yelling at a blind.

  • Why does advanced technology always have such terrible vision :P

  • omg cliffhanger

  • Thanks For Posting! I've been looking for this everywhere!

  • LMAO!!!! "Not fit? Not fit? Of course I'm fit. All systems GO!!! He said that line perfectly!

  • does the beginning remind anyone else of the tardis/idris?

  • I remember watching these episodes in the 70s. There's only one Doctor as far as I'm concerned, and his name is Tom Baker. :)

  • @ceke72 he was the best

  • Two of the greatest companions passed within months of each other. RIP Liz and Nic. You'll be greatly missed!

  • I have a TARDIS cookie jar in my room here, and when he started up the TARDIS, I thought it was my cookie jar making noises. :D

  • @pegasigirl2010 Lawl ur not a true fan unless u got a lifesize Tardis

  • The 4th Doctor ,Sarah and Harry might just be the best threesome in the series history

  • Tom Baker's doctor reminds me of Milton Jones ^_^

  • " How do I make my point? " throws useless brick on floor. " Of course! Skipping! "

  • you know whats awesome. tom's hair is kinda like Jon's, so its like by regenerating he literally got younger

  • the begginning of the longest serving doctor ever. hello tom. please come back for the 50th, you only cameoed in the 20th and 30th

  • hahahahahaha jumping the rope.....wasnt expecting that...cracked me up XD

  • a no fuss regeneration which introduced us to the greatest doctor of them all

  • 6:15 - The greatest moment in the episode!!!

  • bit clasicly dont u think?

  • What did he say at 1:07?

  • Thanks a lot for uploading this.

  • I love this! Right from the off Tom Baker decided that he was going to make the character his own. And he did didn't he!! :)

  • the greatest doctor of them all ,tennant and smith are fit to tie his bootlaces though

  • this doctor is absolutely bonkers!!!!!!!

  • Oh man he's tripping balls. That's how I get if I can't sleep for long enough.

  • Hahaha :D love your descritpion :D

  • In This Clip, From 0:00 To 0:41, It Was "Doctor Who" Video Open From December 28, 1974.

  • @radiodj1520

    What do you meen?

  • From what I've seen, the fourth Doctor is my favorite of the classics.

  • R.I.P liz and pertwee

  • I watched the entire Doc Who canon in 2004 before the reluanch of the new series and Robot was one of my favourite episodes, I spose mainly because it was when Tom first burst onto the scene and turned the whole show from what was often boring 70s drama with Pertwee being rather straight laced into comedy ahead of its time really and is still being mimicked by the likes of Tennant or Smith, but there was only one Tom. Once youve been through every Pertwee episode Tom refreshes for sure

  • This story is so sad now, Lis and Nicholas are both gone.

  • sorry to say this but im so totelly inlove with this part of this episode 8lD!!!!

  • Nicolas Courtney

    Jon Pertwee

    Elisabeth Sladen

    Rest in peace!!

    Best Cast in the 70s

  • @UltimateTARDIS What about IAN MARTER!? You can't leave him out! He was awesome too! Four/Sarah/Harry was the best team ever! :D

  • I have only seen 1 story of ian marter and need to see more before i have my opinion

  • @JediLuckySeven The all-time best TARDIS grouping was definitely Sarah/Harry/Doctor, followed by Ian and Barbara, and then Jamie and Zoe. I'd like to put in a New Series team, but modern WHO is so much "soap opera" that it reminds of the bad, over-crowded TARDIS days of the Davison era, when DW was in a down-hill slide it could not recover from.

Elisabeth Sladen, Ian Marter, and Tom Baker are definitely the WHO force that stands alone at the top!

  • @glnelson1956 i agree with everything you've said, well put

  • @UltimateTARDIS I still find it shocking to no longer have Elisabeth Sladen with us. She seemed so healthy and energetic right up to the end. You'd think she'd be with us into her 80s--at least.

  • Me too!

Sarah was the ebst companion of all time in the best spinoff show: Sarah Jane Adventures, was looking foward to future seasons of the show!

  • RIP Sarah Jane, at least you'll be off with Harry and the Doc in that big TARDIS in the sky.

  • @JoelandtheBots I feel like crying.

  • 8:00 am i the only one thinking BLINK

  • @SamRoxSoxAwesomely Yes you are. Since if he blinked, the Weeping Angels would get him!

  • @doctorwho786 he ment the episode

  • @SamRoxSoxAwesomely no i am aswell

  • Don't worry Brigadier, the Brontosaurus is large, placid.... and very stupid!

    Absolutely love that line!!

Old Who much better than New Who, especially with regeneration scenes... 'I don't want to go' has to be the worst line in the whole of Doctor Who!

  • @abskwl Actually, it was perfect. Do shut up.

  • Doctor, Doctor, I think TIME TRAVEL is REAL!

    Yes, flabbergasting, isn't it?

  • "nonsense, brigadier, you're a swinger"

  • @brennanyoung R.I.P.

  • Brigadier, You were the best here, You will never ever ever be forgotten, You helped me against evil and rotten, You are a legend, one of the best, You made evil cower and confess, Now you are gone, we all mourn, Part of my hearts are critically torn, You've gone, oh why? We never said bye. You may be gone, Your memories live on, We had the best times, They can't be put into lines. My eyes full of tears, You were THE Brigadier. Remember The Master, or The Watcher? Signed by The crying Doctor.
  • @doctorwho786 bravo sir :)

  • did the flooring and "pillow" regenerate also?

  • I love how they refer to a time in 'Face of Evil' when the Doctor had actually slipped away during this time and accidently interfered with a developing colony.

  • Ahhh Nicholas Courtney R.I.P.

  • @Kaiserwhosay R.I.P.

  • here comes the era of cowboy hats, jellybabies and ridiculosly long scarves

    LOVE THIS!!

(Harry Sullivan must of felt really scared of the Doctor with the whole skipping thing)

  • @tottenhamnoah99 ...Not worked...Has it?

Spam = Waste of time = Not enough studied = Stupid = Fail in exams = No job = No money = No home = Homeless = Smoker = Earlier death = Not very nice...Thank you very much spam...

  • @doctorwho786 sorry got told to do it

  • Oh cheap 70's effects, You are awesome

  • Ah yes, the era when there were very little prettyboys and prettygirls who had no personality and little to no talent. The era of substance and originality. Well written stories and distinguished actors of great character. We'll never see this again! There are no words to describe how awesome Tom Baker is!

  • He's such a spaz. It's great.

  • 05.02: ROFLMAO. Yes, this IS the face of the most trustworthy man in seventies Britain... Leave your childeren with him, they'll be juuuuust fine.

  • @Lee86Cr Creepiest. Face. Ever.

  • If his eyes were any bigger they'd pop out of their sockets!

  • I think the newly regenerated 3rd doctor got the TARDIS key out of his shoes as well.

  • @FergieVLogs he did ;D

  • omg he cracked me up,

    he must be completly mad:)

  • i watched all the "modern" dw episodes so i decided to watch sja and now ive finally started on the classic series :)

  • NOT FIT! NOT FIT! OF COURSE I'M FIT ALL SYSTEMS GO! (Karate chop and running in place)

  • "Nonsense Brigadier. You're a swinger." You can't not love the subtext in that line.

  • Imagine if the "Terminator" had looked like this robot. I smell a potential parody.

  • This is the first I've seen of Tom Baker, and I'm already totally digging him. No wonder he's such a DW legend.

  • @broadwaymbw Tom Baker's role as Koura in the Golden Voyage of Sinbad got him noticed by the producers of Doctor Who and he was offered the role. He was deliciously evil in Sinbad, he could have played the Master too. A very talented actor by any standard.

  • 1963? I would agree if you're talking about tv(Twilight Zone, and Dr.Who) but otherwise I would say 1966 overall where pop and sub culture is concerned.

  • @MetalheadJay78 Lol, yes I was talking about tv...It's true though..

  • @MetalheadJay78

Hi dr who robot 3rd to 4th is gone now

    Thanks

  • @MetalheadJay78 OH YEAH! GO THE TWILIGHT ZONE!

  • The beginning of sheer greatness! The 1970's will easily go down as the best decade ever. Human creativity at it's peak here, folks.

  • @MetalheadJay78 Even though I was born in 1996 september I can easily say that the best times in fact, started in 1963

  • Aww, Tom Baker's a cutie.

  • The robots view reminds me off the glass pane in my old kitchen door.

  • rotfl at all ur tags

  • The beginning of a brilliant run of Doctor Who

  • @Barneystudioz The brilliant run started in 1963 to be honest =)

  • Mother, mother, I feel sick, send for The Doctor quick quick quick

  • @Dangturtle Mother, dear, shall I die? Yes, my darling, bye and bye.

  • @Dangturtle

    i know

    7:15 lol!
