Any technology can be abused. The good far outweighs the abuses. I can think of so many useful ways to use RFID to make our personal lives easier and safer. It's not a tracing device as in a GPS chip, it's a device that has to be scanned to be picked up. So putting it in you're shoes will only make you trackable if you were to swipe you're feet accross a scanner.
Also, even if it were a GPS tracking device - are you really arrogant enough to believe your daily life is so interesting or important that someone would want to keep track of all your movements?

@joe80dman No, it can't be placed on a satellite. RFID uses near-field technology, which means the scanner has to be within a close distance of the tag for it to work. The distance is typically within 1 wavelength, and the smaller and less obscure the RFID tag is, the higher the frequency needs to be and the smaller the distance between the tag and the scanner can be. For really small tags, you would literally have to swipe the tag over the scanner for it to pick it up.

This video is way too one sided. They're not GPS device. Its a passive chip, with a unique frequency, and you cant tract an RFID tag anywhere in the world. You literally have to be within the confines of the RFID scanners, which are not everywhere, and will never be everywhere.

But NOWHERE does it mention that an RF signal must *first* be present for these devices to transmit. The show gave the idea that they're all traced by satellite, which isn't possible (no matter what Hal Lindsey says).

Yes my friends, every single cell phone sold within the last five years or so contains a GPS chip. This means your cell carrier, and anyone else with your phone's "MAC address" can track your every move while carrying the phone. And this is NOT limited to smartphones either.

Any technology can be abused. The good far outweighs the abuses. I can think of so many useful ways to use RFID to make our personal lives easier and safer. For example: tag my hammer, my car keys, my lipstick, my scotch tape, and my reading glasses so I can locate them instantly! How many hours of our lives have we wasted looking for these / similar items? And Safety: the police could easily apprehend the crook who stole a TV, DVDs, or other tagged valuables from the office or home.

It's not a tracing device as in a GPS chip, it's a device that has to be scanned to be picked up. So putting it in you're shoes will only make you trackable if you were to swipe you're feet accross a scanner.
Also, even if it were a GPS tracking device - are you really arrogant enough to believe your daily life is so interesting or important that someone would want to keep track of all your movements?

@joe80dman No, it can't be placed on a satellite. RFID uses near-field technology, which means the scanner has to be within a close distance of the tag for it to work. The distance is typically within 1 wavelength, and the smaller and less obscure the RFID tag is, the higher the frequency needs to be and the smaller the distance between the tag and the scanner can be. For really small tags, you would literally have to swipe the tag over the scanner for it to pick it up.

This video is way too one sided. They're not GPS device. Its a passive chip, with a unique frequency, and you cant tract an RFID tag anywhere in the world. You literally have to be within the confines of the RFID scanners, which are not everywhere, and will never be everywhere.

I thought this was "how RFID works". I'm looking for technical information.
But NOWHERE does it mention that an RF signal must *first* be present for these devices to transmit. The show gave the idea that they're all traced by satellite, which isn't possible (no matter what Hal Lindsey says).
Just like every tech before it, this is gonna have good and bad actors. At one point there was a concern about radio being used for ventriloquism and fraud, fer instance.

@Kelly14UK I'm seeing it.The immense benefits of it. starting from my library books - which let me borrow them in matter of seconds; the tickets which let me pay for a ride in an instant; My ID card which lets me roam around the lab freely, the visa wave card which lets me buy seamlessly. In th future shopping stores will have them in every item so that buying is as easy as walking through the counter. You can't resist technology - you can only make sure that its used for good. have some faith.

Wish they'd stop telling us about the " good " this stuff does. Everything malfunctions at some point. I care about the BAD.
BANG goes your freedom. You'll have no choice but to be " goodthinkful" ( I'm not into conspiracies, check my favorites), in order to never fall foul. Gone is your basic right to anonymity, discretion.
Conspiracy vids are often soaked in paranoia and / or religious dogma.
But planting these chips in people is obscene and superior minded.

What is the size of known smallest RFID chip in the world? There are videos of Nano scale RFID chips in youtube, I just asked a question there, maybe someone here know about it. I like to find out if nanochip RFID are small enough to let people inhale or drink to implant without individual permission requiried.. Period. Thanks.
