  • Sweet. *****

  • Isn't the Chinese staff called "gun"?

  • impresive, but in real battle he wouldn't last long.

  • What kind of "real battle"--the modern battlefield? I daresay people from any martial tradition would have a difficult time surviving the advanced modern weapons that kill at impossible distances and with horrifying impact. Regarding "the ancient battlefield," anyone practicing marial arts today can only speculate survival on an ancient battlefield. "Hardcore" practitioners are not ever going to be on a 15th-century battlefield, so a claim of survival is limited to being born centuries later.

  • not just a modern batttlefield mate.

  • Hey, mate. Well, try to be objective here. No one can say that any modern martial practitioner would survive the ancient battlefield since no modern practitioner has been in one. There is a reason why the "art" is distinct from "combat": one emphasizes self, the other killing. Unless someone can prove the opposite, surviving the ancient world, let alone battle, is hypothetical. Your claim is just an attempt to start an unnecessary hostility. Just what is your motivation here?

  • what about the chinese fighting monks? many modern martial arts are based on their moves infact they invented one ut never did well in battle(many got blown to smitherenes)

  • Hey. I'm sorry, but what about them? I don't follow your comment about being "blown smitherenes." Please comment further on that. Regarding any martial art practitioner, any of them would be hard pressed to survive the variables of the ancient or modern battle. These conditions are not available to reproduce seriously. One's mindset is also different since this is a different era. Any real war scenario would be difficult for any martial artist to survive at any time, not just this person.

  • well at first they lost to swords and then they went mad and thought they could charge english guns when a smaal contingent group the boxers became the best known thought theyy could charge guns and never die(they preyed fo it)

  • What do you mean by "at first they lost to swords and then they went mad"? Regarding the Boxers (and the sword comment), how are they connected to your original claim that "in real battle he wouldn't last long"? Anyone from any time would be killed if s/he reiled on prayer as a means to stop bullets or swords.

  • at first they fought against the tyranical regime in china1 then turned attentions to fighting invading brits who had guns but they lost in any case to swords and not just guns!
