  • That one near 1:12 is not Black Swan. It is Satanella, or Carnival of Venice. The costumes are similar but that is most definitely Satanella. I've danced it myself.

  • @theAnnafilms Yes I know, but her Black Swan is shown later.

  • Thanks for the great montage. I had an album with highlights from this (Sylvia)and Giselle and, never having seen either, used my Barbie dolls to work all the music into a Giselle libretto. (records? You may have heard of these?) With just the one program from the RB's trip through Philadelphia and a lot of imagination, my poor little Barbie and Ken dolls had many rolls created on them! When years later I interviewed Ronald Hynd and his wife Annette Page, they thought this was pretty hysterial

  • Lovely selection of clips - thank you! I especially love her Cinderella!

  • I adore her. It's so obvious that she loves dancing and derives so much joy from it. I love seeing ballerinas like that!

  • Also, nice montage of an amazing dancer. Well done!

  • great timing with the music i absolutely love Evgenia but her Odile looks frightened though! like she's spotting too high or something

  • @tutus4life I totally understand what you mean, her Odile sort of weirded me out, and I love her so much! I wish we could see her white swan.

  • It's just a weird usage of music and choreography. If you search her name and Odile or Black Swan, you'll find it. But WHAT WAS THE CHOREOGRAPHER THINKING? Sort of what's become the typical entrada, followed by a typical Siegfried BS variation (you can see he's working here; wondered if they're at a high elevation than most and are using oxygen), then the more typically Russian Odile music/choreo with some noticeable tweaks

  • @minissa2009 Continuing on (I hate this word limit), out of the blue, the coda from another grand pas entirely. With everyone else from Act 3 up there, I'd be panicking just from the claustrophobia. But, you know, there's a reason they call these things "grand pas de deux" rather than "grand pas of a whole bunch of people." Barishnikov's adolescent sexuality take on Nutcracker (so you get a Sugar pas de trois. There are times to be innovate, and this wasn't two of them.

  • Very nicely done! Good montage. She's great!
