  • one thing that really killed this show.. is that every episode they played the story intro.. like 5 mins long telling about who he was and how he came to be... and everyone thought it was the same episode so they changed the channel =(

    Love the memories now.

  • The sound effects are typical early 80's ideas of sci-fi. still, that outfit is awesome!

  • When I was in 2nd grade I never missed an episiode

  • That was a Lamborgini without it's spoiler right?

  • What did Cursor do? Did he just float around and drop F-bombs all the time?

  • Ah yes...with the car that made 90 degree turns!

  • Last time I saw Chuck Wagner, he was a ringmaster for the Wringling Brothers Circus.

  • What is this? I don't . . .

  • I can remember watching this show too, as a kid. I think I kinda liked it, but looking back on it now, yeah this show was really cheesy and real 80's based. but we all most grow up someday.

  • i remember watching couple of these episodes as a kid... now its 'wtf was i thinking'... dumb ass concept!

  • I liked this show, EXCEPT the episode where automan is doing a striptease in a ladies club which kind of killed the "coolness" of the show for me. I Hope they fired the writer of that episode.

  • brought back some memories....That car had some serious handling...Thanks

  • ...I once saw an interview clip where the late Ernie Anderson loved to say AUUUTOMANNNN in promos as much as he did the THE LOOOOOVE BOAT !

  • i remember Laura Brannigan R.I.P. IN AN EPISODE

  • I don't exactly hate it but I don't exactly like it either judging by that clip. I thought it would be more tokusatsu-like being as the HJ guys liked it.

  • i don't remember this either...

  • I'm not surprised you don't remember it; it only ran for 13 episodes I think in the summer of 1984; never to be repeated. (in the UK)

  • I've been trying to find this show for years. Couldn't remember the name. Loved it, hope they bring it out on DVD one day. Thanks for this!

  • I remember it, cool effects, but the guy acting automan, dear God!

    nuff said!

  • 'Chuck Wagner' - what a fantastic name!?

  • This was a great show and the network idiots went a cancelled it

  • Cursor...fuckin little prev

  • Such as cool show. Both 'Automan' and 'Manimal.' It's a shame that both shows were short-lived. :(

  • I've been looking for this, I thought I might have dreamt it up! loved when the car turned the corner at 90 degrees with a guy in the passenger seat and it put him hard into the door! LOVED IT! THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES!

  • LOL yeah me too.

  • this was cool and got axed after i think 1 season so was manimal, and both shows are much better than 99 percent of the crap tv chucks at us now.bring back both shows or at least repeat them.

  • Compared to the junk on TV today, this was a masterpiece of innovation!

  • It was just a tron rip off.

  • cool show back then! Now watching it that I'm older? kinda weird

  • true, it was awesome...when I was 5, lol

  • Cursor was representative of society's attempts to reconcile technological progress vs. stasis.

And Desi Arnaz Jr was just worthless.

  • WOW. Finally someone else who remembers this show. I seriously was beginning to think I dreamed it up as a kid since NOBODY I KNOW REMEMBERS!

  • Good Lord! Somebody saved this?! and Manimal too...ARRGGHHH

  • molto bello!

  • Ahah, friggin A! What a blast from the past!

  • I agree I love this show, the should do a remake of it and break it back, I bet you it will be a hit. When I first saw this show I thought to myself I am going to college to study computer. And now til this day I am still a computer junkie, I support and repairt create webpage and programming. Thanks to automan. The show is the bomb, loved it.

    BRING IT BACK DAMMIT!

  • I loved that show!! I think it was only on for one season. I remember I wanted to watch it because it looked like Tron. Man, I love the 80's!!!

  • I loved this show, those were the times....

  • i can remember the tv series and my fav funny part was the poor man who has to slam into the window whenever chuch turn at the corner of a street

  • yeah, really nostalgic. I want to see this show again...

  • i thought heather mcnair was hot. wonder whatever happened to her

  • Someone bring the 80s back!

  • YES! Automan rules!

  • My parents got the whole series on DVD at a convention last christmas. I love this show, but I'm still only on Episode 9.

    Thanks and write back,

    Rachael

  • I remember this. He had a little friend called "Cursor". I was so young then, I thought the computer cursor was named after the thing on this show!

  • The connection is obvious-this was 'inspired' by the movie Tron, out the previous year. Nice 'idea' guys;love the theme song!

  • I remember this short-lived series, too- it aired on ABC during the 1983-'84 season. Atypical Glen Larson production {note the pin-up of Heather Thomas from "THE FALL GUY", Larson's other ABC series, that "Cursor" ogles at}. Just a handful of episodes--and who remembers Chuck Wagner today?
