Keano was excused. It was the day after Turin, he had been booked, meaning that he'd miss the final, and was pretty hacked off. Becks looked as though he'd been up all night.

There should have been portrait shots of each individual player shot in moody Black and White film, but the labs in London put the film through the wrong bath in processing and lost it all!

Nicest on the day were Denis, Ole, and Jesper. Nicky Butt thought he was the funniest man alive, a trait he seemed to share with Sherringham. Schmeichel just sat and read the Sun all morning. Dwight Yorke was cool, but Andy Cole wasn't.
