  • I am actually SO happy that I get to see them in London in December. I am now counting down to the day that my ears will orgasm.

  • Going to see them at The Troc in March. Excited doesn't come close to describing me.

  • yep. I"ll see them in nashville. Hopefully they play this.

  • right

  • 3:19 - oh my god most epic musical moment in history

  • lately ive realzied that i really like a lot of canadian music... except nickleback. fuck nickleback

  • what kind of morons are these people! i don't even talk to people when i listen to them at home. are you coming to bed dear? did you say something honey.

  • I'll see them in December!!!! Fucking happy.

  • Cool, I'll go to see them then...

  • the most EPIC!!!!! song of GSYBE! ... and cant describe what i feeling when a i hear this song

  • i love this band , they are the most incredeble post rock band ever !!!!, a thrue legend of post rock and progressive rock to

  • I am quite young and not that experienced but having seen this band twice, I can tell you that it will remain one of the most beautiful and humbling thing I have ever witnessed, for sure. As our (music) world will continue to decay, this will be all the truer. Hope my children will understand and feel this the way I do. To Efrim, hope you have recovered from that incredibly strong weed we smoked together in Stuttgart. Godspeed you all!

  • "This band will be one of the only bands remembered of the the late 90's early 2000's in fifty years time."

I wish you were right, but somehow I have the feeling they won't, as much as I do love them..."

  • @Vexli Tha's probably because they don't want to be famous... i like thinking that they could have been fucking famous if only they did the faintest ad.

Famous, among people who love and know good music ofc.

  • Listening to GY!BE requires a gound quality of sound, that's a shame this live hasn't been recorded by a good camcorder.

But stays divine (as always), indeed.

  • remembers me the time i was regularly on 'schrooms meditading on Godspeed You B. E. and a silver mt zion.

  • This sounds fantastic but dam the audience is annoying.

  • @blackmesainbound But only in the beginning, once the song unfolds the Godspeed sound makes em all quiet :-)

  • Fantastic band! In total agreement about the wank pissflaps talking through out. Shut the fuck up!

  • Oh, oh oh I cannot WAIT to see them again!

  • what's the big deal?

  • @Vexli Got to say... GY!BE will be only known by true great lovers of music, history and culture. I'll teach this band to my kids proudly. GY!BE. thank you for remind us how we are.

    Greetings. ישמאל

  • This is the only band i've ever wanted to see that I never got to .I missed them w/ Black Dice. My friend who's seen them a few times said they would play for 2 straight hours w/o ever looking at each other.amazing.

  • i only discovered gy!be a few months ago, but it would have been amazing to see them live.

  • @Vexli: Nickelback won "Band of the Decade". With that in mind, I am not all that broken up that Godspeed will not be remembered.

  • Awesome video...I love this song. Never got to see these guys live...though what I would give to.

  • @Vexli And so sank the martyrs into the oblivion

Haha, that must've been hell of a gig! Never saw them, never will -..-

  • These fucking retards are TALKING OVER GODSPEED dumb fucking tools have no idea of the majesty and importance of what they are saying, one of the the most important musical acts of all time of any genre. This band will be one of the only bands remembered of the the late 90's early 2000's in fifty years time. Just otherworldly. Infuckingcredible.

  • I agree. I would give anything to see them play.

  • @fullonnight i love and respect godspeed, don't get me wrong, but this has got to be one of the most ignorant and pretentious remarks i've ever heard.

  • @fullonnight They aren't very famous, so they probably won't be remembered that well. Nevertheless, they should be.

  • godspeed live is one of the greatest moments of my life. ever.

  • oh, godspeed me into these guys' souls <3 godspeed.

  • I took time off work to follow them round Britain back in late March/early April 2000 when they were supported by Fly Pan Am-another GY!BE offshoot-and Sigur Ros.They were outstanding.....

  • omg supported by sigur ros omg i would've loved to see that i would've been crying and jizzing at the same time.

  • the people who ever saw gy!be live, are blessed.

  • @HystericalMadness summer 2000, saw them and still hold them up as the best live experience of my entire life!!!! even better than Swans!

  • @urckrecords just got a ticket to see gy!be in SF. i would love to see Swans too!!!

  • @HystericalMadness u know they're touring again soon? soon checkin :)

  • @HystericalMadness

And the people who are going to see them on their 2011 tour will receive that blessing as well.

  • bliss, nothing less, even a lot more. I can't find words to describe its beauty

  • i think i would actually kill someone just to see them live

  • Yeah, I know what you mean.

Their records are amazing, but live... pheeeeew....

  • It would be cool to see a symphony cover their songs.

  • one of their best songs. They only have 15 but whatever they all are awesome. Their best is Gathering storm or providence.

  • Moya? I think it's one of the band members. One segment in the songs on Lift Your Skinny Fists... is called "Moya sings".

  • no, moya is the name of the song

  • no, REALLY? since I can't read I did not know that!!! somebody asked what it means, that's what I'm replying to.

  • Wait but theres a member called moya too. Mike i think?

  • yeah that's true

  • pwned!

  • Mike Moya was one of the original three members of GYBE along with Efrim. He left for whatever reason, started some other side projects such as set fire to flames.

  • amazing. does anyone know if they wrote their songs collectively?

  • Efrim I think is perhaps the main instigator, A Silver Mount Zion shows his ability to construct from the front, but I think it was collective, or at the very least collectively lead.

  • I don't think it would be possible to ruin this moment

  • the glockenspiel is really out of time at the end. shame because otherwise its such a great song

  • Lol at guitar fuckup at 1:43

Still love this band more than life itself

  • I think I would actually cry if I ever got a chance to see them live.

  • The ride cymbal is too splashy in this, it obstructs the full sound.

  • but also stops the fags talking as if its between classes in high school

  • I'll quote great irish band Primordial here :

"No ideal not Scarred and Worn

No hope not Shattered and Torn"

  • Or the talent to bring me somewhere else...

  • God...

    The crowd...Blasphemous !

    How can they ?

  • I agree with Mr. Straightedge down there. shut up people.

  • No respect... Love them.

  • The single best song ever by the single best band ever

  • People in the audience need to shut up and listen to the music.

  • One of the greatest song ever.

  • moya is a great tune. to bad they don't have alot of songs i think they have like 15 songs or something lol great band !

  • they have 4 records and one EP I think... most of the tracks go for 10-20 minutes though

  • "Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas To Heaven" has four tracks Storm, Static, Sleep and Antennas To Heaven, three off "Yanqui U.X.O" in 09-15-00, Rockets Fall On Rocket Falls and Motherfucker=Redeemer. Three off F#A#∞ (got the Infinity symbol in) The Dead Flag Blues, East Hastings and Providence, and two off the Slow Riot EP in Moya and Blaise Bailey Finnegan III...basically through this convoluted means we establish they have 12 tracks.

  • and about 24 hours of music =P

    *totally isn't complaining*

  • mmm <3

  • beautiful
