  • bass-sound ==> :))

    song ==> :))

  • Great Footage!! Thank You!!

  • very unique in the 90's ! at that time i remmeber , i could see the " walkabouts " , " Morphine " , " american music club " ," Giant sand ", and many more incredible bands of that owesome time !

  • if u dont like this, u are obviously part of the new generation of punks that have no real music to relate to. long live the 90s

  • the best.

  • RIP Mark Sadmann

  • Anybody knows how Mark tunned his bass?

  • Comment removed

  • @soapmacshampoo Open G I guess, but he played on a 2-string with slide, so you won't sound like him enyway...

  • @soapmacshampoo tuned to a fifth

  • Morphine rules forever! I saw them in Vera, Groningen in the 90's, one of the most unique bands I ever saw

  • If Dali and Monet got together w Edgard Varese, they would have sounded just as sweet, the greats know to keep the edges fuzzy so the eyes focus on the heart of the expression

  • hermoso! gracias!

  • it took a while. but here it is, the most slept on thing i've heard to date.

  • can someone translate what is being said

due to overdubbing i cant understand much

  • @dimondcage

he asks him if he plays on 2 strings and not 4 if it's because he couldn't afford 2 more

so you don't miss anything relevant haha

  • Hahaha... 666 likes. Leave it that way.

  • 4 dislikes WTF ASSHOLES , SHITHEADS , MARK SANDMAN FOR EVER

  • @kaptainkarkass

    I agree Nick...

  • amazing. this is the sickest shit I have ever seen. these guys were in the fucking zone.

  • Sandman is fuckin motherfucking amazing

  • Que portentos!!!!!

  • nice reverend horton heat hat on the roadie haha

  • What a crime that band like DMB would butcher this classic song. Mark Sandman was a God and his music will live on. It is a shame that DMB got credit for playing this a new song but uneducated fans. To me when DMB decided to cover this tune was an outrage to orginal Morphine fans that made the song a college radio classic. Mark Sandman would be turning over in his grave know this. Don't f--- with the classics and don't f--- with Morphine. Bless your soul Mark you are missed.

  • @kissmusiclover wow i had no idea those hacks covered morphine...disgusting

  • @kissmusiclover fuck you dmb is amazing

  • @daydalton yawwwwwn.

  • @kissmusiclover mark sandman wishes he could write music like dmb does. i like morphine, i like dmb. dmb is so far ahead of these guys it's wild.

  • @mYeAGz55 if dmb is so far ahaead of these guys then how could that dmb needs to cover the BEST like Morphine, DMB is nothing without Peter Griesar t and Leroi. So Mophine is so is, was, and always will be the ones that DMB needs to copy for inspiration of HOW commericalization did NOT kill their music [Morphine's] like it has for dmb.

  • @kissmusiclover maybe they cover it because it's a good song and they like it? tell me, has morphine ever written a song not in 4/4? take a listen to the dreaming tree, or fool to think's chorus, or the stone, and let me know if mark sandman ever wrote lyricslike that or ever composed music on such a complicated level. and dmb doesn't need to copy shit. covers are just fun to play live.

  • dmb just played this

  • Oh god! it's incredible HOW MUCH i love this band...

  • they amaze me every time i see a live video of them

i mean, just look at 1:53, it gave me the goosebumps

  • 4 dislikes? All I have to say to the 4 of you is this: None of you will ever be friends of mine. Not if we're the last 5 people on earth. I'd sooner eat the lot of you and shit you out.

  • the ppl at this club are too cool to groove I guess. those guys are jammin' tho!

  • Motherfucking top-notch music.

  • whoever disliked this should be tortured. severely...

  • Odličan bend svira u nekom čumezu od birca.Neki ljudi su fakat sretni.

  • @CowboyMidnight Da sam bar mogao tamo biti....

  • Check out Monkeys of White Glove!!

We play some covers of morphine with unusual instruments like tuba. It's our beggining. We hope that you enjoy it :D

  • AWESOME......what a great band

  • Absolute class .

Love this song , love the band .

    Just great . A lesson .

  • anyone else get a Dana feel from Braddigan from Dispatch?

  • anyone get a Zappa vibe from this?

  • @inmytimeofdieing2 nope, Zappa is awesome tho

  • @inmytimeofdieing2 No man, not the same mood at all

  • We miss you Mark!

  • Who are the 4 people who don't like this? They should be gathered up and shot into space.

  • @crazyiroquois Why do you think people should be shot into space? Its a scary thought.

  • @101Volts Indeed it is.

  • @101Volts I don't know, I'm kinda concerned that you DON'T think there are people who should be shot into space. Haven't you met the devil? Hasn't anyone introduced you to Buena Buena Buena??? 3;)

  • @cuvtixo I know the saying "Treat others the way you want to be treated" I try to follow it but trying is failing.

  • @101Volts Did you know Mark Sandman was in a band called "Treat Her Right?" !?!?!

What if you want others to punish you and cause you pain? 3:)

  • @cuvtixo Yes and I don't own any of their CDs.

And I think the saying works there too.

  • @101Volts The closest I've heard from anyone in a sad sweet mode is Lhasa de Sela. She also died quite young, of cancer. She continued to perform while essentially waiting to die. -maybe this recommend doesn't belong here, but...

  • @crazyiroquois whoever dislikes this band it is because they don't know how awesome this band was and still is. Bazinga! nuff said.

  • @crazyiroquois Ahahahahah very good idea indeed!

  • cool

  • Hugh Grant plus high doses of Morphine.

  • having only the two strings was a sign of how good he was musically..thats all he needed to play in the sax's key.

  • DAMN FRENCH OVERDUB I WANNA HEAR THE INTERVEIW

    oh and great song :D

  • Sandman you are a total GOD!

  • kidanje

  • R.I .P M SANDMAN

  • JACKPOT , I just discovered Morphine, the band ( me and morphine sulfate go way back) and I cant get enough. Kinda like my old sulfate friend, couldnt seem to get enough of that either!

  • Cool as shit.

  • Wait,is Dana on the saxophone?I can't see his mustache...O_O

  • uffffffffffffffff (L)

  • rocco siffredi on bass : )

  • Really Good!! : )

  • one of my most favorite bands of all time. Mark Sandman is just one of those people that shouldn't have died.

  • sandman played my little sister's wedding with me.....long before this....

  • Fuck me that's good.

  • kewl som ice, very nice

  • i saw treat her right at a bar in the late 80's during a blizzard. there were about 12 people there and they blew the roof off the joint!!

  • Holy shit. I'm so jealous of the audience. That would have been such an awesome, intimate performance. It's fucking perfect.

  • im actually in the process of shooting a film about mark s. i actually asked john stewart to be in it. he laughed in my face.

  • @handsomevision please let us know the title.

  • @whitefish1234 everything fell apart. for some crazy reason nobody wants to give me money to make a film about mark s. no producers.im sure if i wanted to make a taylor swift movie i would have th ex president himself offer to produce it.

  • @whitefish1234 cure for pain...the mark sandman story.due out next year.came across it by blind luck

  • Ωραίοι!

  • i met this little devil named buena-buena

  • bevis and butthead is the reference

  • Morphine rules

  • Kakkoiiiiiiii!!!So Coooool!!!

  • Fantastic swing!

  • He looks like the young dr. house, heh

  • I can see a slight resemblance. Speaking of which, I think this song would be great for an episode of House.

  • Like all friggin geniouses - Jeff Buckley, Mark Sandman will be

  • love u

  • God, look how sick he looks.

    Hes awesome.

  • Does He only have 2 strings on the bass?

  • ovbiously... yes..

  • what cymbals is the drummer playing on? best sound ive heard in a long time

  • i'm interested about cymbals, too

  • For me Mark Sandman in music was what Tarantino now in movies is. Both unique, cynical but cool. The world became less with Mark's death. What a genious. And how underrated.

  • such an awesome performance

i saw them live on a hot summer day

    my introduction to the band

    awesome

  • who needs a lead or rhythm guitar when you're this funky!!!!!

    E X C E L L E N T

  • @woodendoll95 I get it, still not funny.

  • @whitefish1234 really dude? its been over half a year since I posted that comment

  • @woodendoll95 He should stick the bit of the show where he hits on chicks....

  • @woodendoll95 he does kinda look like a strung out JS, no offense either its funny. Love Morphine though. RIP Mark Sandman

  • Qué envidia haber visto a este grupazo!!! Y en un sitio así...

  • never saw them live.....wish i did. Been enjoying the tune for almost 20 yrs. now........rock and roll hallers if you ask me. And if you didnt, i think i know what it is you need.........

  • Damn fine live video. Better than the original recording, really.

I first heard/saw them at an outdoor concert at Ottawa's National Art Gallery- early 90's, and was terribly impressed.

Small gathering, sun beaming down, the band kicking ass- awesome.

  • Im in Ottawa right now, and I know exactly what you mean. Ottawa's NAG, Morphine.. The whole vibe...

  • groovy

  • freakin hot!

  • the song is awesome. i love how the bass and sax compliment each other - so creatively melodic. 5/5!

  • awesome!

  • mark sandman ..............grande ........buena

  • You are so off point, this is pretty tight, cat always had something to say... I knew Mark pretty well, not many as dedicated,,,believe that!!!

  • Now i feel allright!!!

  • mi chiedo perchè li ho scoperti solo ora

  • :D buon per te invece.vedrai che roba.

  • It's a bit of a different version than the CD version, but still quite amazing. <333 I wish I knew about them before Sandman died, and had gotten to attend a show. Daaaamn.

    Goodgoodgood!!! =]

  • I spent 2 months of my life doing that shit........it will consume you if you have no other reason to progress in life......The H-Train will end you.

    The SandMan.....soooo sad.

  • Прелестгно!

  • Buenisima

  • ha dude looks like a cracked out jon stewart kinda.. great song

  • Billy Conway is a BEAST on the drums, man.

  • yeah he has amazing feeling and swing in his drumming style .D

  • Original drummer Jerome Deupress equally as good . Had to quit the band after Cure For Pain due to an illness . He did play on almost all tunes on the final Morphine album The Night .

  • MARK ES DIOS , invento el rock sin guitarras

  • I remember hearing this song on an episode of The Sopranos.

  • this is what i want.

  • That's the reason 'cause i love music & videos: you become immortal in there ones.

And sometimes i need to see & hear Mark to not miss him really too much.

He was one of the best.

  • Q.E.P.D. Mark, with JM, SRV, Luca Prodan and the rest...

  • Since I meet the devil I havent been the same ohhh noooo........Thanks for sahring this, awesome vid behind007

  • I let a classmate hear this song, and he told me it was rubbish. I then told him his taste was rubbish.

  • his taste is rubbish. this is amazing

  • That pisses me off.

  • I guess he's not your friend anymore. Or maybe your forgot him?

  • loosing mark sandman was the worst thing to happen to music since the loss of roy orbison....

  • If Morphine were any cooler there'd b a new Ice Age

  • Exactly.

  • @Amsterdam74yeah brilliant. :)

  • They sound so good live. It's almost impossible to differentiate this from the studio version. RIP Mark Sandman.

  • Anybody know Sandman's tuning?

  • I think A and D, because you can play Super Sex on a normal bass. But i heard he also used to tune them both the same for some songs.

  • I think the song is in C

  • Though you can never trust Sandman to be consistent with his tuning. He loved to mess with his instruments to get new and unique sounds.

  • boston makes this sound every day.

  • Morphine was cool becuz of the oddball instrumental lineup with the 2 string bass, sax and drums. But mostly they were cool becuz of Sandman's velvety stoner voice and that fucking LOOK on his face, like he's off in stoner heaven. Sandman was truly an original, one-of-a-kind. The mold went out along with him...

  • low rock as mark put it

  • they fucking COOL

  • very nice

  • no wonder they were big in france :-)

  • merde! probably the best morphine live track here on youtube after all. whish i could've been there - what a great small venue!

  • Sandman was unquestionably a bit testy and cranky, but all things considered I think he was remarkably civil given that he was asked the same three questions about the band's instrumentation etc. in every single interview.

  • nice music!
