She is so adorable! Haha, I love her attitude in this video. Just a smidge grumpy it seems. She and my niece would definitely be good friends. Personality wise they are so similar. My niece will touch any bug except spiders. Spiders, she will go running in the opposite direction.
@kichan Yes, she was a bit grumpy until she started catching frogs and grasshoppers. Nina isn't too into spiders either, unless they are very small. Indeed, she does sound similar to your niece! Glad to hear there are other girls out there who are also into bugs!
little girls (and some grown ups too xD) tend to run away screaming when they come across an insect or a frog.. as for nina, i could picture her running towards these insects or frogs and screaming "catch it! catch it!!" instead..
@ellamlc37 Mama was trying to find akebi, a kind of fruit, sort of like a pomegranate. And, Nina is not too fond of spiders, unless they are very very small.
Great video! I thought the scene of the grass blowing in the wind was really pretty. It brought back memories of me when I was in Japan and my Girl Scout troop went hiking in the jungle.
And Nina is so brave at that age. I would be terrified of picking up grasshoppers.
It's cool how Nina loves insects and animals. My parents would freak out and tell me to full on wash off the bacteria on my hands if I'm even like 1 m away from one.
from my experience, snakes (and scorpions too) usually come out during hot day or very very very hot day (I know it because I'm from Borneo) and luckily you guys had the walk before typhoon :)
@Orange2488 It was quite hot, but the sun was not out. We heard several things (lizard? snake?) crawling through the grasses, but we never saw what they were.
haha i like her warning to Mama! and the way she can just pick up insects and frogs. i remember the days when i was in love with my pet caterpillar. but now i think they're absolutely disgusting. often times i wonder what was wrong with me. lol
@turquoisesurprise I think most adults still have that desire to go walk in the woods and find bugs, but we just don't feel like it's an adult thing to do. Having a kid along makes it acceptable, so I feel lucky!
@coral123yh Cicadas and beetles are very popular in Japan among kids, but most kids don't seem as interested in grasshoppers and caterpillars as Nina. I'm not sure where Nina got that.
Nina doesn't like the jungle but she loves the friends she finds along the way! Great video, one of my favorites. I love watching the grass in the wind it's like water the way it ripples <3
I really liked the music, sort of calm and creepy at the same time. No information in this video description...was it something you made off garage band?
I hope you guys made it through the typhoon okay. So funny to see NIna stressing but happy when she sees her grasshoppers and frogs. Kids are great like that.
i know all the comments usually are about nina but i think you should be the one getting praise as well. you've raised a wonderful girl and all the videos you film and edit are absolutely great! loved the music in this video!!
Nina doesn't like the jungle but she's very good with insects and the like. That's great. I don't like doing to the jungle because i'm scared of insects and a lot of other small animals lol.
Haha... You are supposed to take care of her, but she's keen on bossing you and Mom around when she thinks you're being ridiculous or careless. So cute.
@morethansushiLJ ha ha Yeah, she couldn't believe I would take her into that tall grass where there might be snakes. She didn't trust my "adult judgement" after that.
