  • last few mozart symphonies just had to be the last because it's impossible to imagine anything better

  • Mozart is great to have on when your doing math homework.

  • BRAVO!

  • Listening to this.. makes me hate Stravinsky....

  • @LordKami76 What about Berg and Shoenberg? After that terror this is heavenly to listen to.

  • love this symphony : ) we will audition it at our schools christmas concert : )

  • my favorite music parts are 2'20 to 2'33. I love Mozart!

  • Monothematic Sonata-Allegro form:

0:08 Exposition, first tonal group (D Major) - notice octave leaps

1:06 Second tonal group (A Major)

    1:55 codetta

    2:45 Development

    3:40 Recapitulation D Major

4:01 transition (false modulation - sounds as though moving to dominant, but is not)

4:40 restatement of theme in D Major (in a non-monothematic piece, this would be theme B).

    5:29 Coda

  • @msundblad at 1:55 I would say that is more of closing material to move into the development. I do not think that it is necessarily codetta material. Other than that though great quickie analysis. :D

  • @msundblad I don't think we are allowed to do Harmony on YouTube, but you are correct.

  • MY SIMPHONY MUAHAHAHA

  • My favorite Mozart piece..

  • como mi apellido...my suriname!!

  • mozart is so good for body and soul, he was just an uncomparable genious, his music is... trascendental

  • @mariianela93 oh come on; of course he was a genius - but uncomparable, that's just silly.

  • Haffner Serenade is also amazing BTW...

and I love Mozart's mature symphonies!!!

  • Perfecta;insuperable,magistral..,

  • so?

  • long live mozart

  • My new favorite musical expression: 2:19 to 2:26. Mozart suprises me again!

  • agreed

  • agreed, and it repeats at 5:16 ... followed this time with a curious, chromatic, slightly creepy little upward-by-halftones motif (2x) from 5:29 to 5:39.

thnx for pointing that one out, musicwriter83 :)

  • @musicwriter83 I totally agree with you!

  • The strings are GREAT;but the winds are really disapointing...when the piece modulates into A i can't even hear the flutes...and would it kill the oboes to use some vibrato? They sound like they're screeching!

  • I love Karl Bohm's conducting style!

  • Yes,I was indeed being sarcastic.

  • i agree with whomakemefeel. This is Mozart's greatest symphony. Mvt 1 & 4 are my favourite.

  • Agree... :D

  • This Frankly the geatest Sinfonia in my opinion by Mozart look at just her name Haffner god that genius work

  • GREAT

  • You have to ask how come such a marvellous piece of music - and I think Mozart's best symphony by far - fails to feature in the Classic FM Hall of Fame. Still, not to worry, we can always listen to The Star Wars theme or similar.

  • Shostakk, would you mind keep this clip for long period of time plz?

  • The gallant style and beyond.

  • I love this Symphony! SOOO much fun to play!

  • Just amazing interpretation.

  • Awesome!
