@msundblad at 1:55 I would say that is more of closing material to move into the development. I do not think that it is necessarily codetta material. Other than that though great quickie analysis. :D
agreed, and it repeats at 5:16 ... followed this time with a curious, chromatic, slightly creepy little upward-by-halftones motif (2x) from 5:29 to 5:39.
The strings are GREAT;but the winds are really disapointing...when the piece modulates into A i can't even hear the flutes...and would it kill the oboes to use some vibrato? They sound like they're screeching!
You have to ask how come such a marvellous piece of music - and I think Mozart's best symphony by far - fails to feature in the Classic FM Hall of Fame. Still, not to worry, we can always listen to The Star Wars theme or similar.
last few mozart symphonies just had to be the last because it's impossible to imagine anything better

Monothematic Sonata-Allegro form:
0:08 Exposition, first tonal group (D Major) - notice octave leaps
1:06 Second tonal group (A Major)
1:55 codetta
2:45 Development
3:40 Recapitulation D Major
4:01 transition (false modulation - sounds as though moving to dominant, but is not)
4:40 restatement of theme in D Major (in a non-monothematic piece, this would be theme B).
5:29 Coda
