Chabacano in Zamboanga City,rarely use none-spanish word.98% of it is in spanish, but most of us spell the words incorrectly bcoz of the special char. of the letters. & the ordering of the language is diff.from the formal spanish.but generally it is a real spanish.there's just a little bit diff.so people of Zamboanga City please teach your children chabacano stop altering our original language.We are lucky We know how to speak Spanish so hopefully We could preserve it for our future Generation!
@omysaavedra21 Chavacano used to be more of a spoken language. Recently lang ata nagkaroon ng effort to standardize it. Kaya marami talaga mali ang spelling. People write the words katulad ng pag spell nila ng Tagalog o Bisaya. Tulad nito Poqrue should be written as Por Que. Some may spell it as porke. But it doesn't matter, Chavacano is not Castellano. It is now a language of it's own.

Chabacano in Zamboanga City,rarely use none-spanish word.98% of it is in spanish, but most of us spell the words incorrectly bcoz of the special char. of the letters. & the ordering of the language is diff.from the formal spanish.but generally it is a real spanish.there's just a little bit diff.so people of Zamboanga City please teach your children chabacano stop altering our original language.We are lucky We know how to speak Spanish so hopefully We could preserve it for our future Generation!

@omysaavedra21 Chavacano used to be more of a spoken language. Recently lang ata nagkaroon ng effort to standardize it. Kaya marami talaga mali ang spelling. People write the words katulad ng pag spell nila ng Tagalog o Bisaya. Tulad nito Poqrue should be written as Por Que. Some may spell it as porke. But it doesn't matter, Chavacano is not Castellano. It is now a language of it's own.

@razzp it is a creole spanish/ 98% of it is from spanish words. maraming mali nag sspell nyan dahil sa panahon. noon lahat correct ngayon hinde na kasi mas maraming nag rerevise ng word d2 they combine diff.language when speaking chavacano if you want to know about our language history try to research..

@omysaavedra21 I know what Chavacano and what a Spanish Creole is. Believe me I've done my research well. For someone who speaks and write Spanish in the Philippines, it is normal for me to find interest in Chavacano. And I don't think my opinion in any way contradict yours about misspellings. They are both true. Even in other vernaculars like Ilocano or Bicol, locals don't know how to write the language properly.

@omysaavedra21 cont...Simply because it is not taught as a written language. This is due to Tagalog's hegemony, a language promoted as Filipino as its standard form. Even Tagalog suffers or improve because of some changes. By the way what you just posted is the very definition of creole that doesn't need explanation. A language with most of its vocabulary borrowed from a dominant language with grammatical rules from the vernacular.

ang kaisa isang spanish accent sa pinas, dapat hindi nawala ang salitang iyon sa pilipinas e, para may english na may spanish pa tyo heheheh.

@pakundokondi hehe madami pong chavacano sa Pilipinas, meron sa Cavite, Ternate, Cotabato, Ermita(extinct), at sa Davao bukod sa Zamboanga. Dumating din kasi ang mga Americano kaya Nagfade ang Spanish. Nung panahon ni Rizal, espanyol ang salita nila. Take note also that the chavacano accent is very Filipino.

i rily luv dis band as wel as deir songs =) i do hav 3 fav bands dito sa zambo na sikat w/ deir own compstion using our dialect "chavacano" (maldita/comic relief/zero) but maldita is d most famous among dem ol, una palng na play ung porque sa radio na sense ko na si2kat to! most requested band cla dto sa amin evrtym my pista sa brgy. agaw atensyon tlga ung lead vocalist kc simple n pretty, ang lakas ng dating nya personlly... agree ako mas mganda sya pag ala make-up more power 2 u guys!
