  • my 4 month old weighs 17 lbs and is 28 in long. this is horrible. he was just a big baby at birth. not fat, just big. :) and very advanced

so that company is just messed up

  • And I suppose this is true whether the baby weighed 4lbs 10 oz or 10 lbs 9oz at birth?

  • My child weighed 18 pounds at 4 months old. He was completely normal and still is a completely normal child. He's not fat or anything, he was just big when he was born. He leveled out at about 1 year old, but he's still taller than most kids his age. 17 pounds at 4 months out isn't fat. This is ridiculous.

  • that kid looks fine to me. my son has always been under in weight and height and he sure can eat.. all kids are built differently and it all has to to with whats in the genes

  • This insurance company sucks! My baby is over 18 pounds and is just 4 months old. I have Kaiser Permanente and they cover him!

  • Those charts for weight are based on formula-fed infants. Breast-fed infants ate normally a bit heavier but it all evens out once they begin to walk. My son is 12 now and a normal weight and at age 4 months was 16 pounds.

  • My son was 19 pounds and 27 inches at 4 months O_o.

    He's in perfect health.

  • Man oh man the mom looks completely wiped. Like she's still recovering from birthing that giant baby.

  • "Cardiopulmonary adaptation in large for gestational age infants of diabetic and nondiabetic mothers"

  • Notice I have not seen Fox News YET to comment or cover this story? Fair and Balanced???? Yeah Right!

  • What's even worse is that medical doctors are dumb enough to believe this "obesity chart." I went to my pediatrician the other day and she said my baby is in the 95 percentile, which means "he's obese." First of all, I think whoever created this chart must have something against healthy babies or they just need to go back to fix some sort of calculation error in their statistical research. Second of all, doctors need to use their brains like they do in school and have some common sense.

  • Yea, cause you went to 4 years of medical school and3-5 years of residency to understand that chart. And for example, a diabetic mother that gave birth to a overweight baby can have a infant with a left-to-right shut. Which is a serious type of heart defect that is due to the babies weight.

  • baby looks cute as hell and healthy to me. I was a very big baby and now at 23 am considered "underweight" his baby fat has nothing to do with his future

  • let's deny insurance companies air - let's see what happens

  • Love it!! Death panels for insurance co.

  • Oh please, I love how this guy tries to spin this whole thing for BO... Keep the Gov. OUT OF OUR FREAKING LIVES!! THAT INCLUDES HEALTH CARE... I'd rather deal with an insurance company any day, than the freaking government...

  • WOW PROBLEM FREAKING SOLVED CAPITALISM WORKED!!!! THEY LOSE PROFITS AND THEY RETURN BY GRANTING YOU COVERAGE. Jesus, now that everything is solved we need to have government take over health care.

  • As far as we know the only reason the HMO changed its mind is because it wants to keep people happy so they dont support gov plan, and if there wasnt threat of gov plan right now the HMO wouldnt care too much since many HMOs have same policy.

We know know the policy of its competition in this case.

Besides, we shouldnt have to make a big hubbub every single time an HMP wants to be stupid.

We need to take profits out of this, because its profits that caused this "flaw"

  • No profits leads to systems like the DMV.

  • I dont get the constant attacks on the DMV

Aside from the lines, i have never had a bad experience with the DMV, and considering the resources they get allocated, it does a good job.

I may wait 1 hour, not bad.

I waited half hour to see a dentist today.

i wait long in many private business.

its a cost/benefit issue and seems to work pretty well from everything I see.

  • If you don't like the DMV can you take your money somewhere else? Can you ask to see a supervision if someone is treating you badly? Do you think anything you say is going to lose them money? What if you boycotted the DMV... What if every American boycotted the DMV? Would they make any less money? Is there any reason to be productive? Its not for profit and they get money whether they go slow or fast. It breeds laziness. Its a pretty simple thought experiment. I'm surprised you can't do this.

  • We shouldnt have competition to the DMV considering what it does, so whats your point?

Your point may work on a person who agrees with you, but not me.

You can ask for a supervisor though, and whether the supervisor does something may depend on personal preference or how noisy you are.

Gov supervisors punish or fire workers all the time based on workers actions. Your example doesnt work.

Private businesses often dont act on customer noise because of personal preference or external issues.

  • You are literally one of the most ignorant people I have conversed with on Youtube. That takes a lot congratulations. Learn some basic economics. Its like I am having a conversation with someone who has never seen their first day in college. Enjoy your ignorance I hear its bliss.

  • As far as boycotting, can even 10% of america even boycott any business?

Do you really believe so? Therefore point is moot.

Even then, the local gov bows to the will of the local citizens and it then replaces people at DMV personel.

Yes, think when the citizens dont like school system activities, go after school board, and change happens.

Being productive is driven by our connection to others, need to be useful, which most have.

Still, your experiment needs backup, not your own single logic

  • Its not the people I'm concerned about it the fact that its paid by taxes. Not a single person would have to go into the DMV for it to stay open. Not a single person could show up and the DMV would still get your tax dollars. Now a private business would go out of business. Therefore, you don;t have choice, they have no reason to be effecient or polite or customer service. It will be the same with health care. Just another face that needs to be rushed thru the system. U will understand soon.

  • First, you ignore the rest of the world whos health care runs well enough despite it being gov run to one degree or another.

Ignoring them doesnt make them unreal.

Your also crazy to think that a local gov would keep an unused place open and manned by dozens of people. It simply wouldnt happen.

It would be too easy for the neighborhood citizens to go to a town hall meeting and get it closed down.

    Thats where you have choice.

  • You lack formal operations. You have no deductive reasoning I heard it was possible, but I have not seen it until now. You perceive things like every word I type is to be taken literally and you don't try to understand the point I am trying to get at. You are arguing against my hypothetical and telling me if its possible or not and ignoring the point I'm making. This is my last response to you.

  • Then SIGN up with another insurance company. A company that will take the kids money. The plan is AFFORDABLE because they do deny individuals that are at risk. This is good business and makes it affordable. If your kid is at risk for disease because he is too big then your gonna have to pay. When the government runs it and covers everyone regardless of risk, then the taxpayer will have to pay when that risky child DOES get sick. It will be EXPENSIVE for the taxpayers.

  • But whether your at risk is all luck

Lucky you, you werent born with a high risk of disease and parents barely or unable to afford to pay themselves for everything.

Be grateful and just admit you simply dont care about others bad luck that was not their fault.

Then know why your kind will lose as time goes on and why your kind has lost around the world.

Most of us know it could happen to our children or could have happened to us.

  • I love how people point out government involvement as being corrupt because of corporate involvement in government is controlling it.

I'll agree with that, I sure will... But... the reason you don't trust government is because of corporation is looking after its own best interests when paying off government departments, your fix... just let corporations do as they will.

The fox is guarding the hen house and your fix is to get rid of the farmer and let the fox rule the roost.

  • 17 pound baby??!!!

    HAHAHAHAHAHA

    Only in America!!!

  • Welcome to the Obama Depression!

  • Government interference makes health care so expensive that some insurance companies can not be forced to accept the risk of some people becoming sick at the expense of others.

    That's my 2 cents..

All the crybabies that don't agree with me, can set up a PRIVATE FUND to support kids that fall under these unfortunate circumstances.

Please don't demand that every man woman and child pay for your bleeding heart "moral values". I am sick of supporting your free ride.

  • you're the kind of person who doesn't pay taxes at all...bet on it

  • Then why do you make us support your free ride?

Bet you wont go without all the public benefits we give you, freeloader.

If we all paid in, we wouldnt be freeloaders. I would be paying in, but get more out then HMOs give, and for cheaper too.

    I sure want that.

You can start your own fund and stop living off societies time if you want to be so independent.

Stop working jobs society makes possible.

Stop eating food society makes possible.

  • Tired tired arguments. I didn't say I dont want to be apart of society I just don't want society stealing more and more money away from me every time another generation graduates from undergrad and wants to steal my labor.

  • but thats what being part of a society is about.

Doing things you may not like because we depend on and support each other.

You really cant have all you want if you want to be connected to millions of other people.

One includes taxes for things you may not like.

Or you can go live with tribes that dont deal in money or depend on other tribes therefore dont need many of any contracts that the whole village need to follow whether they like it or not.

  • Ya.. Just let the government steal everything right? BO is the worst.

  • As if the little bit you pay into your taxes is worth it. As if the little money you pay into taxes is taking so much of your wealth that you are not able to live. Please!

  • Unlike you, I was not born yesterday and I realize that the government is always trying to raise taxes. It has been since the founding of this country and people like you bleed from the heart to give up liberty and civil rights for some transient security and safety. The system in this case worked, they fought the system and received insurance for their baby. Freedom is neither comfortable nor safe and you must fight. NOT HAVE THE GOVERNMENT DO IT FOR YOU.

  • They may want to run some test on that baby. The insurance Company knows more about the baby than the parents do about the health of this baby. That's the real reason why they didn't want to cover the baby in the first baby.

That baby is not overweight at all. I've seen fatter than him fully covered.

  • 1:16 <-- hit this few times

  • lmao

  • Four months? My daughter wasn't as big as him when she was two! She's petite anyway.

  • This is ridiculous indeed, but for all this HMO hate I don't get why no one is harping against the legislation that gave them so much control over our lives in the first place. How about repealing that instead of forcing more government in people's lives?
