You also have to take into account the shape of Cuba, which is long and narrow. Which means that it gets hit very very often, but only along a small section of the island at a time.

I was born in Cuba and lived there til I was 14 so I was there for a whole lot of hurricanes. I always thought that one of the reasons Cuba suffered less damage than the US (don't know about other countries in the Caribbean) is because most of the construction in the island is Spanish style block and concrete, whereas in the US wood and sheetrock are used a lot more even in hurricane prone places such as Florida, Luisiana and Texas.

I dont think cuba is half as bad as people would like you to think. Just looks like a bunch of people who can work together to overcome problems.

fantastic video!! Congratulations!! Amazing!! so educative and useful for everyone! It makes me feel so proud of cuban people, examples like this show the world how great cubans are in emergency situations and many, many other things. This video is a shame as well as a lack of respet to the cuban people,it is also sad that this type of propaganda is absorved by viwers around the world like you,that with out knowing the reality of the cuban people support that regime,faking or thinking you are supporting the cuban people.

What a wonderful video!!so instructive and useful!.This is something every country must do to prepare themselves from natural desasters such as hurricanes,tornados,and storms.Cuba is a valuable example of this, have always shown an increadible capacity of organization,cooperation among civilians and militars is amazing,their preventive strategies are just fantastic. For Cubans, life is priceless and very important, certainly the world is so proud of their achievements and preparation.Bravo Cuba
