this would be an awesome intro to an epic adventure: 1) sweep over the country, happy ppl 2) bad guy arrives, eats the happy ppl 3) misses one kid 4) kid trains to kill the bad guy 5) kid travels the world 6) becomes a mighty warrior 7) learns that eating ppl gives a formidable strength 8) becomes a bad guy 9) finds the original bad guy 10) defeats him 11) eats him 12) rules in his place ...a classic story :P.

You really just need a VST instrument that simulates the 8-bit sounds and then any midi sequencer should work with it.
