Ok that is just amazing. I have so many questions about how you do that. But instead can I just ask what lathe you are using and what kind of mount you used to secure that block of wood?
@gearaddicts - the lathe is a home brew machine, made up of a Ward metal lathe head bolted to an 'A' frame body. The tool rest is a similar design to the VB 36...all my pieces are turned with a very basic 4" faceplate and coach bolts.
Max, I've always believed music and art are one and the same. You exemplify this completely! Beautiful work both on the hang drum performances and the woodwork. I've always been interested in carpentry, but this just blew me away! I hope your pieces are in galleries because just from the few shown here I know everyone is/will be astonished! Thanks for stopping by and if you want to know how to do any other music production techniques let me know. Take care and keep the videos coming!
Shows few of the actual process... :(

@maxthewoodman thanks a ton for getting back to me. One last question? What do you use to sharpen your tools?
gearaddicts 8 months ago
@gearaddicts A bog standard bench grinder with an 80 (I think) grit wheel.
