Today my hamster Ashtonn died, he was my favoirte hamster I have ever had. All the others were very mean and bit me everytime I would try to hold them, but anyone one including strangers could hold Ashtonn and he wouldnt bite. I had got him on Jan. 9th and he had died on Oct. 15th he was a Chinese Dawrf Hamster, I love you Ashtonn! R.I.P Buddy I will love you forever, even though you kept me up at night...lol(:
Aw it died from jumping out of your hand? I am so fortunate when my hamster escaped and jumped off a six feet table he lived. He did break his leg but he healed. And you are not a bad owner you were trying to do a good thing!
i have this breed....i had tried to play with them for a while and they liked it but now when put them in my hand or i try to play with them or grab em from their cage or when i juast look at them they freak out and tried to run aroung and they wont talk to me.....(as in play) can some one pls hlp?and theyer males

I feel your pain. I once had a little hamster named Garena... She was a normal winter white hamster she died when she was only 7 months old. I left her in the cage for a couple of days alone and when i came home...she was dead. Rip Garena ='(
You are not a bad owner! It seems that your Robo loves you very much.By the way most robo's will jump anyway, its not your fault that she jumped ( she is very cute too).I have a russian dwarf and he is very nice too.

Ur not a bad owner so far I am my dad won't let me buy and pets for him except this hamster ball and it fell like a billion times and won't stop doing it .. Thankfully it's still alive for more than a year and a half.. Sad part is every day at day time it's sleeping and at night it just stays awake and does nthing.. The sad look in his eyes just gives u the urge to do sthing except I can't cuz my mom said so :/ .. But R.I.P. to ur pet hamster .. I bet it was a very good hamster :(
Mine died 4 days ago at only like 1 month old! I only had him for like 9 days! :( I didn't know his birthday so I didn't know how old he was. :( But I'm guessing he was only like a month old. He died from wet tail I think. I don't know how, but it was probably wet tail. Cause he had some of the symptoms. :(

He had gotten sick, but we took him to the vet, and they gave up medicine to give to him and i thought he was getting better, but I was wrong. This is the worst pain in the world. He didn't deserve to die. I hope he's in heaven, with your hammie Freya.. I hope he knew I loved him and I hope he loved him. He was my everything, my baby, my best friend. I hate this, and I want him back!

@bellebeautie I had a little hammy who died of the same thing. I have no idea what it was. He was okay when I went to bed and the next morning he was really really sick. My parents weren't home so I couldn't take him to a vet. I thought he was hibernating, but when I tried to gently wake him according to my friend's instructions, he wouldn't move. Totally lifeless except for some shallow breaths he let out. He died within an hour :((((
i just found out that my teddy bear hamster zoey died i just got back from vacation and i was droped off at the mall and me and my mom were walking around the mall and she said if i missed anyone and i said yeah zoey and she gave ma a sad look and right there i started crying she told me she died a week ago she said when im ready i can get another one

Strange to hear your story though..because I've had 7 hamsters in the past including the one I have now (Roborovski and Dwarves) and they've all "jumped" but after they jump they just keep walking or run away in the Robo's case and they all seem fine afterwards.
My hamster was doing that aswell, very still and lifeless, this morning i check him, and he is not breathing :( dont feel bad you didn't do anything wrong. But Death is always the downside to a pet.

I'm so sorry, but you aren't a bad owner. Robos jump from hands all the time. Mine did a lot, but he always ended up fine...except the time he ran away. We foind him, though. But that's not being a bad owner, that's not making a mistake either. It was just an accident.
Info about roborovski hamsters: thiz hamser can live in small cages but not to small. it will jump and run as fast as it can to get away. once you have a new robro hamster hold it 5 mins in your hand every day untill it gets comfotable in your hands. one a week is over leave it in its cage for 2 days. + i am so sorry what happen to your hamster.

They are both as active as each other the differences are, females tend to be a little more aggressive than males and live less longer. Males are easy to handle, live longer but their urine can smell quite strong.
I have always had male hamsters so it's whatever Hammy you set your eyes on.

If that's a roborovski and it stays in your hand like that, then it may have already been ill which sometimes just happens. If they jump out of your hand, it doesn't make you a bad owner; it means they're a robo! Don't blame yourself over it. Besides, it looks like you had a very sweet hamster.
