Yes they way faster but Sony found out about this and are starting to put a security update out on their new games so that modded console cannot play US games that are burned or ripped
i have a question ..i mean no offense of course but was the umd you got for the red psp damaged in any way? like...watching it loading..I couldn't hear it but I could 'feel' it skipping while loading the opening menu. I felt like that when I had crisis core and I watched my friend play it..no skipping..no lag whatsoever ^^. ...and are the red psp's modifiable? i mean the black one's are cool but it's a pimpin red ^^ hehe
custom firmware is always in and faster.u modded your ps3 as well?

No my UMD's never skipped and yes the red PSP's are capable of being Modded cause I modded a few myself
