I have a Doberman goin on 5yrs old....not vicious at all but he is very territorial. If he is out with me walking in the park he's the friendliest dog ever but he doesn't like people he doesn't know in the house. That is common with alotta dogs though regardless of breed
Mine don't have their ears done.... but the male has an undocked tail, ashtrays coffee table disaster.... tails docked i prefer..... pups are docked (tails) at 2 days...
@feiz01 wait till the doberman is same age as the boxer its only 8 months old an almost bigger. im not saying i wanna c a dog fight i hate dog fights i just know that a fully grown doberman is one of the most meanest dogs around. my old man had one about 20 years ago the nieghboors pig dogs got onto our property 4 of them an my dads doberman out smarted them all took the alpha male out an the rest of them ran like little poodles with tails between there legs

My doberman plays well w all the dogs n the dog park but the day a shepherd who out weighed him by 15 lbs tried to go for his throat my doberman stood his ground and slammed the shepherd to the ground, and held him their. But at the same time my girl poodle mix nip my dobe and all he did was whine like a big baby like she offended him, but he didn't at all try to hurt her.
@nikigurl08 i wasnt saying they wont play with other dogs my red plays with alot of dogs including red nose pitbulls even those little toy dogs he gets along well with all sorts of dogs they may not be the biggest or toughest dog but they will surely out smart most dogs including the poodle. like i was saying in my other comment 4 pig dogs trained to kill its the only thing they knew but still the 4 of them couldnt take down the doberman. sorry im not trying to start an argument either
@driftkid549 Its okay. Well personally I believe a doberman is one of the smartest and hardest dogs around for its size. And ya there no doubt that a doberman could easily take out a pitbull and a lot of other types of dogs, its just doberman arent mean but they'll hold their ground the moment another dog tries and start something.
Oh ya they can. And that's my uncles boxer, hes the biggest baby in the world. Except for on walks. I wrestle with him all the time, he sounds angry like hes going to rip your throat out and eat it. But he uses his mouth to gum you lol. Best dog in the world :) and the doberman in this video is half the age of the boxer, so that's why he got owned lol

Wait, now you mention ears being shortened, it does resolve in fights. The theory is, if (whats usually placeing elastic bands on the ears for a few days) you cut theem either completely off or shorten them, the rival dog won't have anything to grab onto, so the fighters dog's supposedly less volnerable to attack.
Anyway, it's fine. It's also understandable wha with this being the internet and all if you can't tell who I am. I've onllt got a small volentary thing called 'Chicken Defender' in a little town called Middelsbrough in the North East. I can't even afford my ow site for it and there are few pepole working for it alright! I'd think the same. Sorry, I do over react at times! I assure yoou I've don better in REAL cases!

I love it!!! We have had four Dobes since I was a child...the last one being a red female, and we have never cropped the ears...they look so much better this way!!
in my opinion i think doberman's ears look better cropped and the bonus is that they dont hurt the dogs like you think they would. its actually been tested that a doberman feels little to no pain with ear cropping. the pain is the bandages they have to wear after the surgery. my little red doberman puppy hated those things.
