I just beat this game last night for the third time, but before that i searched for hours for rare items and all i found was a firebomb. funny enough, there's a staff you can find in the tower of Bab-il called silence, it's stronger than the life staff, but apparently very rare.
You mentioned Glass Helmets, but since Adamant armor takes care of any physical attacks, I'd argue that Ribbons are better since Ribbons offer some magic defence whereas Glass Helmets do not. I would agree on Protect Rings.
there;s actually a trick to encountering pink puffs (at least in the gba version) basically, you enter the room, and immediately quicksave your game, then when you get to the title screen, hit continue, but select no, then hit continue again and hit yes, you'll run into the following enemies in this order: gold&silver dragons, dino zombie dino zombie dino zombie FLAN PRINCESSx5. theres also a chance that youll skip the dragon battle, and go straight to the dinozombies, but it's a good method.
@MasterMorty It's easier to just farm (using sneak) 99+ Alarms from Searchers (or whatever they're called) in the Giant of Bab-il (especially since they're awesome for leveling up if they're the ones that call Mech Dragons). If you don't get a pink tail after 99 tries, something's wrong.
This creates another Puff and gives you a better chance of your tail. It you have the snes version on your computer just save the state and it will take you maybe 30 mins to get a tail. Pretty easy compared to the Glass Helmet and Crystal Ring where you can't use Life2 on Dragons and Evil Masks!
If you don't have money you can fight these puffs and walk around the dungeon and get 999999 gold easily. The key is to have Kain jump and while he's in air, let Rosa use life 2 on the one Kain jumped on. They have 10k life so have someone hit them first. Hopefully that character and Kains jump kills them in two hits and then Rosa brings em back to life.
@PonyboyInNewZealand , I will try it today: he meant, when one pink puff is about to die, (when it has less than 1000 H.P), send kain to jump on it (which will kill it). But BEFORE Kain falls on it, command Rosa to use life2 on the pink puff you're about to kill.
Kain will kill it before Rosa has performed the life2. It will dissipate. then rosa will perform the life2, which will bring him to life. makes sense. I Will see tonight if it works :)
@arturocabezal did you know you can bring them back with a life1 spell, or item. they will die again instantly as they are brought back with 0HP. giving you a double kill. you can do that with any monster for more XP. i love FF4 glitches!

The PinkPuffs will make 3 out of 5 or 4 out of 5 of your guys berserk so you can't control them. They never control Cecil for me but it can happen. Making him a toad can't hurt. By making your strong attackers toads, they won't kill off the Puffs. Your first thing is to get control of Rydia.

it is near impossible to gt this in the ff2 snes version >.<

@comeau79 how do you bring to life Pink Puffs once they are dead? They dissipate once you kill them. Using Life2 on them makes no sense.

I believe I was just leveling everyone up and he was the last one I didn't level up yet.
Also about that code....I forget what it is. I'd have to take a look at it in-game but....you can also find it on Gamefaqs IIRC...
