  • you need to leave the fucking chairs and do step by step the things you are talking about.you are so lazy and bored but you can improve

  • Why not insert the sine sweep direct to the cabinet instead of the effect loop? Some amps may have components in the effect loop and after it that may effect the sound of the sine sweep. Am I not right or am I missing something?

  • Of course you would need an amplifier to amplify the signal before it goes through the cabinet so I guess you could just use the effect loop anyway :P

  • From my experience you can capture a more usable guitar cab impulse utilizing pink noise rather than a sine sweep. When i tried sine sweeps they tended to have an obvious harshness on the high end. That was only with close mic'ing though. Sine sweeps work well for distant mic'ing/room impulses.

I've created a whole heap of free quality Mesa OS cab impulses (over 700, actually). Just search "god's cab" on google or youtube. You might find them useful!

  • dude where did u learn all this ...is there a site that u can go on to learn about how to create gd recordings particuarly for metal cause i used to spend time moving around mics on crappy amps and getting a listenable result but far from pro standard or i would learn about eq or mastering plugins and jus shove on any setting that sounding gd rather than researching and utilizing different recording technology and resources

  • you guys know that you can adjust the buffer size in the M-Audio control panel to minimize the latency, right? I run mine at 128, and i have a little more than 4ms, which is pretty good.

  • windows 7?

  • impulses are pretty useless for rhythm guitars. especially if you have the gear to make them. just mic your gear. line in is shit, even with good impulses. impulses work well with lead and bass, however....

  • @LordHines420 not true. haha

  • @chdrummer actually yes. line in digital garbage cant touch miking when it comes to rhythm guitars. even with impulses.

  • @LordHines420 maybe if you don't know what youre doing.

  • u know what i was just thinking...u guys are the real world waynes world lol thats wicked. anyways good ep

  • This is very useful i was wondering if you all could answer a question for me. "Will replacing my hard drive with a solid state drive decrease latency"

  • Alright quick question... vie been doing hip hop for about 2 years now... recording, producing, beat making......but now i have a band on my hands that wants to record their music...... keep in mind im a high school student... i own 1 condenser microphone and a sound booth the size of a closet...... how do i record quality acoustic and electric guitar? and for drums is it possible i can just have them use Reason 4 for the drums?....
