  • creeper

  • Hahah you can tell he doesn't actually grab his balls! Alex has his hand over them, then Mr. Deltoid grabs his fist hahaa

  • It's great to see how he smashed the bastard's bollocks.

  • MY FUCKING FAVORITE PARTTTTT MMMMMMMM!???!!!??!!?!?

  • 2:06

    THANK ME LATER ;D

  • 1:38 - 1:47 is my favorite part.

  • I LIKE THIS DENTURE WATER YEEEESSSS?

  • lol, my mom and i say "yyeeeeesssss" all the time ^_^

  • Such a gloriously weird scene.

  • 'Is it some devil that crawls inside of yoouuuuu?'

  • The end of the line for me Alex. The end of the line, yeeess!

  • Why does he grab his balls? A kind of advice?

  • Mr. Deltoid = Original Yes Man.

  • Brilliant movie!

  • You can tell this is an old movie. An older man sitting on a bed with teenager in his underwear with no one else home.

  • I would have a bit of nastyness wih Alex boy YESSSSSSS

  • @filmfanatica21 as would i, YYEEESSSSSSS! ;D

  • I would love to hear a lecture of Mr. Detloid's to young delinquents. XD

  • I still don't understand his reaction to the thing he drinks, the only thing I still don't understand in the movie. My favorite line here is: "Keep your handsome proboscis out of the dirt."

  • @KITT171 I guess you did not recognize the false teeth in the glass.

  • how did Mr Deltoid come to know about his nastiness?

  • This scene got slightly more gay as it went on yeeeeees?

  • CREEPER

  • yes it's his probie and I'm sure he knows it's a lost cause. but just like it is these days you have to keep trying since that's what your paid to do. besides you get a 'big black mark everytime you lose one' this movie is more relevant now than when it first came out!

  • so this would be his parole officer?

  • i keep telling myself"watch the movie!" but i never get 'round to it. but i really should, yeeees?

  • "your horrible self"

What an absolutely appalling thing to say to the very person you're supposed to be helping... From a psykological point of view: No wonder Alex turned out the way he did with mr Deltoid and his parents acting towards him the way THEY do... In the book as well.

  • @riptobias first off, psychological*. Second, Alex is a serial rapist and an psychopathic murderer, these inhuman acts take away one's humanity, therefore, society reserves the right to treat these murderers and rapists with the same brutality that they have inflicted on others, Alex deserves everything that he got throughout this entire movie. It was a mistake that Mr. D ever even helped him, because then Alex might have gone to prison before he managed to kill anyone.

  • @ageofandy

Alex is surrounded by people who, despite being important figures in his upbringing, fail to treat him right. This has a fatal effect on his mind, and his actions - indeed horrible and unacceptable, I'm not saying they're not - reflects what he is learning from society: Violence/dominance is his way of making himself heard and seen. Simplified, of course, and he still has a free will, but ceases to care about wether he disappoints the people who has disappointed him for so long.

  • @riptobias And how do they 'fail to treat him right?' Mr Deltoid treats Alex badly because Alex is a monster, walking as if human. If Alex didn't get into trouble then Mr. Deltoid need not even be bothered. As for Alex's parents, I don't see anything too bad with them, of course they are not perfect, the mother is a pathetic whinny bitch and the father is a very, very weak man, but they do not seem abusive, only absent and selfish.

  • @riptobias (Continued) I know that psychopathy is born of both biological and environmental factors, yet I believe that there are people that have far worse environments, and they don't turn out to be murderous rapists. There is something wrong with the way Alex thinks, therefore I don't believe that his environment is a good explanation for him being evil. (I'm only commenting on the movie, I haven't read the book, maybe that's a bit different). P.S. You put up a good argument though.

  • @ageofandy

    Thank you:-)

About your "first" reply: Stating that Alex' parents are "absent and selfish" is putting it mildly, and yet that in itself is bad enough. Also Mr Deltoid clearly hasn't got a clue who he is dealing with and seems to me like the kind of guy who should never have worked with troubled people in the first place. Of course, these two factors alone are not enough to explain Alex' behaviour - there are things we are not told, both in the film and the book, about his past.

  • @riptobias Alex's parents are scared of him....

  • "Something wrong about the way he thinks", indeed. But a persons thoughts is formed by environmental factors and well, the society Burgess created isn't exactly the most caring one I've seen. But that's exactly my point. He doesn't just respond to his parents coldness but society as a whole. People in all parts of society encounter problems and react diffently to them depending on their nature. some peoples willpower allows them to handle more than others. It doesn't mean Alex was born a creep

  • your balls, goddamn !!

  • Even though he's now old enough to be my grandad, I think he's got a fit body in this film :3

  • Yeeeeeeesh??

  • 6 people didn't want to touch alex's yarbles,

  • i honestly thought this guy was gonna molest him, well, more than that

  • Working for Kubrick must have been as tough as it could get for an actor. Imagine doing that long uncut shot from :25 - 2:15 and then, with Kubrick being the kind of director he was, being told "Okay, that was okay. Now do it twenty more times."

  • poor little alex gets a smack on the huevos! LOL

  • I can imagine Leonard Rossiter playing Deltoid. He always pops up in Kubrick films

  • why is this happening in Alex's parents bedroom?

  • @RICKROLLBLENDER He was probably rifling through Mrs De Large's underwear drawer while Alex was asleep

  • @wrmty56413

    lulz!

  • lol whenever me and my dad speak to each other we always say yessss! now lol it freaks people out lol

  • well considering that Alex isn't 16 like he is in the book, he's more like 21, this is fine.

  • Right in the icicles!

  • @AllRiseForDrEvil Surely you mean "yarbles!"

  • Deltoid should have come back in the end of the book

  • 1:36 hi alex... <3

  • Mr P R Deltoid is one of the most surreal portrayals of a character that i have ever seen on a film, amazing timing and voice.

Seen this film 1000s times now, just love it, the wide angle camera work, the characters, plot, all brilliantly executed, a classic, you should all watch this film more than twice cos no doubt you will miss things first time round xxx

  • @missalisonhamiltonUK

considering the movie is a butchering of the book.

  • @xenophobe76 I cant confess to having read the book yet, though its on my to do list.

For those interested, the film is on itv4 Friday 12 August 10:00pm. It was on tonight on itv4 but i missed it sadly, will watch friday though =o)

  • end of the line, yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesss?

  • Can't you see Mr Deltoid is a VAMPIRE, you idiots?

He even had a vision of a vampire the scene before seeing him.

  • Poor Alex, just got kicked in the yarbles!

  • ahhhhh alek boy awake atlast!

  • Deltoid is one of the dodgiest characters ever to appear in a film. I wonder how many dozens of times Kubrick made him punch poor Malcolm McDowell in the nads.

  • this is so funny.

  • Yeeees

  • A rape causes a bad inversion of colors for a child. or bad "channeling" this is shown in the Music store where he is surronded by an array of colors, and then proceeds to violate 2 young girls, in probably the same strange way sort of way he is violated.

When he is in the milk bar right after the rape the milk represents "pure blood" replenishment as the woman is wearing red right before the rape. He becomes incensed when "Dim" mocks Beetoven as that is the only "pure joy" left in his life

  • Mr Deltoid is clearly a sexually aroused sadist and homofreak. There's many parrells to this scene and in the movie Sleuth where he says "A Jumped up pantry boy who doesn't know his place!"

Perhaps they are saying one perverse violation leads to another. What they are showing with the cup of water, is that tasting a young boy's juices will make you sick.

When he says "Is it some devil who crawls into you"? That is him.

  • SKINNY PUPPY!!!

  • I'd have grabbed hold and kept squeezing

  • I'm going to be social worker, hope I'm not going to be like Mr. Deltoid...

  • "Cup of the olde chai sir!?"

  • @olddrunkstyle "Nuh tymeee eeee nehuw tymmeee"

  • LOL @ 2:05!!

  • I admire the way the man talks. Makes me wish I was British yeeeeees?

  • @lu4y4pants yea but he lost that as the conversation went on.

  • The end of the line, yeeees!

  • Hi hi hi Mr. Deltoid!

  • I think we now know who taught Alex to be a good rapist.

  • "A confession of failure." Now that's rich! That should have been the subtitle of the film: "A Confession of Failure". One of the greatest films ever made.

Ever checked out Kubrick's thoughts on God, religion and the Universe? Pretty incredible stuff.

  • Anyone picking up a huge homoerotic vibe in this scene?

  • @Xxd3cayxX

I picked up a whole array of weird vibes the first time I watched it

  • He slammed his balls

  • He want's the old in and out, yeeeesss.

  • Quite evident freudian contour in this scene in my opinion, with the corrective character combining the good and bad parents, with the obvious sexual tension as well.

  • Come and get one in the yarbles!!! If you have and yarbles!!

  • YEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!

  • 6 people got one in the yarbles

  • this is by far the creepiest scene in a clockwork orange without it even intending to be scary it is just creepy as hell

  • great acting especially on aubrey's part

  • like Mr. Mackey M´kay ?!

  • Yeeess??? *Cool Face*

  • i think you have to face it... this scene does deal with homosexuality & peadophilia, its a pretty grim scene but you cant try to gloss over it! it is so easy and 'comforting' for the average person to brandish this scene as being 'Mr Deltoid punching him in the nuts' but i believe it does have a more serious psychological undertone.

  • @LiamJamess

Grim? The book's full of raping children...That's grim. Sure, the movie turns them into willing legal-age folk most of the time and glosses over the sicker shit he does but Alex DESERVES a punch in the nads either way.

    Anyway, Toastboy sent me.

  • yyyyyyesssssss

  • YEEEEESS

  • YES?

  • Alex is wild...wild

  • If you read the book Alex is 15 and he get's 10 year old girls drunk for orgies (in the movie it's the two chicks he takes him from the mall).

  • this scene was 'nuts'...

  • Mr Deltoid displays the perfect balance of comedy and creepiness

  • YYYeeeeeessssssssssSSs

  • when you look at the other characters in the movie alex really doesnt look all that bad. everyone else is just as sick, perverted, and corrupt; alex is just a product of his environment

  • @FuttBucker667

Rape is a product of the environment? Wut?

  • rofl "a bit of nastiness yess??

id grab young Alex's junk probably

    DONT PRETEND YOU WOULDN'T!!

  • yeeeess

  • Haha anyone else notice when he grabs his nuts at 2:07 alex laughs. hahahaha

  • @fivedollerfootlong It's not a giggle, it's a gasp of pain.

  • What was wrong with the dude at the end?

  • @elodewyck101 Which dude? The young man was hit in the testicles by his probation officer. The Probation officer was grossed out realizing he had been drinking water that false teeth were soaking in

  • QUITE A BIT OF NASTINESS YESSSSS?

  • He doesnt strike me as a perv, just a control freak and bit of a bully. A nasty headmaster type. He knows well what alex is up to.

  • YEEEEEEEeeeeessssss

  • who's the one that needs to be watched? messing around with a 16 year old??????

  • @stupidintellect90 I dunno, some people might think that a serial rapist ought to be on the receiving end once in a while. you tell me...

Some rather extreme nastiness in anycase

  • @bmgelman I agree, but a peado is a peado no matter who the victim is, you'll see comments which actually symphasise with him, it's not because they think he's innocent but its the power of his character, having read the book, I constantly found that I had to remind myself of the real Alex because, apart from the ultraviolence, he's quite a likeable character, then of course there's that scheme he goes through which makes you pity him even more. Malcolm is just perfect for the role :)

  • @bmgelman Raping people is bad, so we should rape people who rape. Makes sense!

  • @stupidintellect90 alex is 15

  • @stupidintellect90 Yeah, an rapist, little terrorist and murderer 16 year old "angel"...

  • @DanielTheWalrus I can't argue with you there, but you have to understand that having read the book, by some wierd hypnotism or something, I actually start liking Alex. And it wasn't just me, my sister who also read it felt the same way. You've got to read it to understand this wierd attachment.

  • Does he grab the nads, or the weenie?

  • @watchensee never ceases to amaze me - that if you all have actually watched this film, alex is no innocent 16 year old angel. And the parole officer punching him it the balls is not groping or fondling or any other lewd act.

  • @bmgelman Oh I know all about Alex, I've watched Clockwork Orange! As a matter of fact I love it when he gets caught, and they use him as a lab pet! }:) I was just wondering if his parole officer is suppose too be punching, or squeezing him there. I know it's acting, but from the way it looks, is he aiming for the nads, or the weewee? As far as I'm concerned he should squeeze them nice n hard! Alex needs too be fixed!! }:)

  • @watchensee I believe he grabbed at the yarbles, good sir

  • @ArchiPepper Ok the gonads, I'm a mam, but thank for answering my question. :)

  • There was a bit of nastiness last night, yeessss. Some very extreeeeme nastiness, yeeees?

  • That eye. That twitching satisfied lazy eye!

  • Thats not a pompey accent..

  • he drinks tooth?

  • I thought this scene was hilarious.

  • a little bit so nastyness YEESSSSS

  • Mr. Deltoid seems like a deviated prevert...

  • Little Alex is the hottest villain in any movie ever.

  • Adoro isto.

  • he dont have a six pack

  • fuckin' creep.

  • Hence not at school yeeeessss

  • Now I realized it...

Every man with more than 30 years in this movie has touched or seen Alex's yarbles...

  • LOL @ 2:04! hahahaha

  • Mr Deltoid speaks kind of like Mark Hamill's Joker on Batman The Animated Series.

  • He hits his balls

  • "There was a bit of a nastiness last night YESSSS? some very extreeeeeme nastiness MMM'YESSS???

  • @KR5oNE lol'd

  • @KR5oNE that part is so fukin funny lololol

  • Mr Deltoid is the second best character in the flim acter Alex himself.

I bet he wanted to have a quick 'old in-and-out with Alex

    yeeeesssssssssss?

  • I'm loving the "Yeerrrsss"

  • Ahh, he's in his undies!

  • Alex almost-naked is very distracting from the story :)

  • Misogyny is a common theme in ACO. Notice that when Alex is bent backwards as Mr Deltoid grabs his nuts, he is reminiscent of the woman models in the korova milk bar. There are even the same funny coloured wigs in the background, as seen in the milk bar on the models. Basically, Alex is seen as sex tool in this scene, and is being groomed by this creepy old fuck. The behavior he exhibits is no better than Alex. That's my take on it, anyways.

  • @qloudz these are very philosophical thoughts.. There is a hungarian quotation: "not to see the forest from one tree". This "tree" is now Alex (with his perverse brain which commands him to insult, hit and rob other people, and not to do any useful in his whole life) just because he is in the main role. Alex, as a sex tool? Mr. Deltoid has really strange methode but he is not able to change even so this small bastard... I can't agree that his behaviour as bad as Alex's manner...

  • @nomadpek By the end of the movie, Alex has taken a lot more beatings and punishment than he initially gave out. I didn't actually mean to say that Alex is a sex tool, that's my mistake. But he is seen, just as a 'piece of meat.' Much like how most men see women now. Rape, murder, paedophilia. I would argue that they're all just as bad as each other. Thanks for your comment.

  • @qloudz you surely remember on the scene, when Alex puts robbed banknotes in his drawer; there are here at least 20 wristwatches, and other objects – from earlier surprise visits. That is why I think he received beating just what he deserved, and even fewer because in my opinion he should have received rope into his neck, and hung. So he would not have been able to hit and kill other people anymore- rememeber ont he last sntence of film: „I have been cured"

  • @nomadpek Last line of the movie"I have been cured"When this came out 40 years ago I had learned lots about Pavlov's doggy,B.F.Skinner,Behaviour Modification,Social Engineering in spare time at the Yeshiva.I thought Alex was saying that "tongue in cheek "I have been processed & cured" or "Guess what? The joke is on you since you reversed the negative response to negative behaviour."Wasn't Beethoven playing, Minister of Interior gave him Alex gigantic stereo system &media rushed for the photos?

  • @RasMajnouni Sorry but I can't understand you exactly. Tell me more to clarify your opinion.

  • Does nobody else think that Malcolm Mcdowell is actually cute in this movie? Because he's very young ;)

  • yes yes

  • Premièrement dans le bouquin (je l'ai lu) il a 14 et dans le film 17 et il sort à 19 alors chut.

  • Alex in 17 at this scene and by the end he's 19 or 20

  • Mr. Deltoid is a pedo

  • What drug is he on!

  • Oh Alex boy! Awake at last yesssssssss?

  • if id attend school today id be risking many more absences :P

  • What the fuck was that guy on about!?

  • @Cena60793 : He's Alex's probation officer.

  • @buzzclick500 no I mean I couldn't understand what he was on about at all

  • @Cena60793 : Sorry about that. He's just a typical socialist bureaucratic type, more interested in his record for promotion and retirement. He has no serious concern for Alex's future. It's all numbers to him, and Alex knows that. The denture water says a lot. Deltoid doesn't pay attention to whatever environment he's in. He just stumbles and gropes his way through life.

  • @buzzclick500 In my opinion the situation is totally other than you write; Mr. Deltoid has known Alex for a long time and he knows that this filthy young criminal lies again but he is not able to prove it. Indipendent from this fact he warns Alex once more, what the follows will be if he does not stop this kind of life. What other should/could he do? I sorry rather for Alex's victims, than him.

Where do you know "socialist bureaucratic type" from?

  • The one man in the sore and sick community who wants to SAVE YOU FROM YOURSELF!

  • look how malcolm mcdowell "cover" his balls before aubrey hits them in 1:44. i found this so funny. hehe...

  • i noticed like 3 old pervs hittin on Alex in the movie

  • Grab a guy by the balls... that's how to make a point?

  • @NYerintransit I think it was more of a "get one in the yarballs..."

  • @bmgelman I haven't seen the movie, but judging by what I do know, I think that this scene is a double scene. While Deltoid's dialogue is film dialogue, his gestures and motions suggest something entirely different, something that is never actually addressed, but only implied. Kubrick does things like that in all of his movies, giving two things at once while only seemingly talking about one thing. Lots of wordplay in Kubrick's movies can support that idea.

  • @Bassbait Having seen the film 40 years ago at 17 (Pre Justin Beiber times) I'd make a comment about how the green emerald bedspread might symbolize the inner desire for order in life, while the pink-purple walls match his old mamma's wig,a need to be young at heart even when you are an old-&-in-the-way-fart like myself.Having read the comments below I'll go and watch Justin Beiber some more...nice comments(really)"Hey,did anyone see the adult diapers?"

  • @bmgelman Mr deltoid clearly isn't a eunuc jelly then.
