How to add a pasword to a folder using vista or XP (no program needed)

You can change the name of the folder from Private :)

When you enter the code into notepad, change all the words 'Personal' to whatever you want. i.e 'Secret'

And you can adapt the link so that instead of putting Y to lock the folder, you can change it to whatever you want... I'll try to do a video response if I can work out how to do a good one :P

Could someone help me out here? When I run the batch file it creates the Personel folder but I didn't have to type in a password, the black box flashed for a second and it was there. Then I ran the batch file again and typed y then enter and the folder named turned into Control Panel.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD­-08002B30309D} and that;s it.. I can't drag any folders into it, it doesn't dissapear when I refresh, and when I open it, I open it with ease. could someone please help?

Inside my folder I have random .jpgs, one of them is a cleverly disguised winrar file with porn in it. So if someone asks whats in my password protected folder it looks like random harmless pictures.

I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. I save it as "locker.bat" on my desktop. when I open it, command prompt goes up for a split second and then the Personel file opens. Any solutions? Thanks.

just to let everyone know, u can change the name of the folder to whatever u want, but u need to change the coding that is in the .bat file so if u have any programming knowledge, such as myself, u can change it or ask me for help

dont feel to safe with this method!! If someone knows how you did it he simply has to rightclick "edit" and he/she can see your password!!! so i wouldnt put TO personal stuff in there (a video of you dressed like a lady or.. jerking off..) !!!

Make your doc pic invisible (search it in YT) then wala! if they did find ur pass then them might also have a hard time finding the doc

Just get Windows Vista or Windows 7 Ultimate and right click file > Properties > Encrypt.

Then only your user account can read it.

Or Just Use TrueCrypt . org
