I had a 69 Ghia that hauled , I though it had a rear seat with a back that folded down, but it's been awhile. It was one of my favorite cars, 1835cc, DeOrto 40, counter weighted crank, and the list goes on and on. I like to think Dr. Porsche would have approved. It'd do 110 or 115 flat out, depending how I had the carbs jetted.
@joebudoe You have the one in the Ad? Wow Love the old VW's My aunt had a 1974 Super Beetle, It was red with gray inside. That was the year the car would not start unless you put your seat belt on. My dad had a 74 Caprice, he always wore his seat belts anyways...he had them put in when it bought his 57 Chevy Bel Air. It had the 283 I think with the Power glide. I sure wish we had kept some of the cars we had from when I was growing up.
I actually had sex in a Ghia. My GF pissed all over the seat. It was her mom's car and mom had a fit. After that we could only have sex on the picnic table which we could wash off with the hose.
this is how truly how I felt with my ex-girlfriends mother, it was the exact same thing. At least my savior was my '74 Ghia w/ an auto stick!

The mother was late getting out anyway, plenty of time to drive away in a four-door.

My drama teacher once had a Karmann Ghia. He told me that it had only two major problems:
1. When you got to highway speeds, the light front end of the car lifted up a little bit.
2. It once caught on fire. I'm not making this up.

I agree. That's why he currently drives a 1970s Alfa Romeo sedan (bought while on a trip to Italy).

That's why you carry a fire extinguisher on board. And it's why I do just that ;]
